What to do to avoid hazards to health.
Ice cream can be a matrix for salmonella. Therefore,
special hygiene is required in the making of ice cream.
Raw eggs must be properly refrigerated and may not be
kept too long.
Freezing does not kill salmonella bacteria, so keep these
tips in mind:
• Do not prepare recipes with raw eggs for people with
a weak immune system (such as babies, older people
or people who are sick).
• If you make up a recipe with raw eggs, make sure
in advance that the eggs are fresh and that they have
been stored in the refrigerator.
• Make sure that all of the equipment used in making
the ice cream is properly cleaned.
• Put the ice cream you have made into the refrigerator
immediately and do not keep it longer than 24 hours.
• The ice cream must be consumed immediately. Ice
cream made with fresh ingredients can be kept for a
max. 1 week in the freezer at -18°C.
• Ice cream which has thawed - even just a little bit -
may never be refrozen.
• After preparation, the ice cream machine and all of the
utensils used must be carefully cleaned.

What you must know to avoid damage to the device
• The bowl must be dry before you put it in the freezer.
• Do not heat the bowl to more than 40°C.
• Hard or sharp objects (such as metal spoons) may
damage the inside of the freezer bowl. Only use rubber
spatulas and wooden utensils to remove the ice cream
from the bowl.
• Only pour the mixture you have prepared into the
bowl when the machine is already on.
• Do not turn the device off and on when the ice cream
is being churned. The ice cream mixture might freeze
to the bowl and block the mixing arm.
• Never put the device on hot surfaces or in the vicinity
of heat sources or open ames.
• Only use the accessories provided.
• The device is equipped with anti-slip feet. If it appears
that the anti-slip feet are no longer working, put an
anti-slip mat under the device.
• Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning products.
• All accessories must be washed by hand. Only the
plastic mixing arm can be washed in the dishwasher.
• If there is liquid leaking from the freezer bowl, the
bowl is no longer usable. Even though this liquid is
not toxic, it is not t for consumption.
• The device has an overheating safety. This will shut
the device off when the motor threatens to overheat.
Always pull the plug from the outlet and wait at least
15 minutes until the motor has completely cooled.

8. Container
BEFORE THE FIRST USE
Note: Never submerge the motor block in water!
When using the device a specic odour may be emitted. This is normal. Make sure
there is sufcient ventilation in the room.
1. Take all of the parts out of the packaging.
2. Make sure all parts are complete and intact.
3. Wipe the motor block clean with a slightly moist cloth.
4. Wipe the interior of the freezer bowl clean with a moist cloth.
5. Rinse the other components thoroughly in warm water.

INGREDIENTS: TIPS
• You make the best ice cream with high quality ingredients.
• Fat-rich dairy products (cream, whipping cream, mascarpone, ...) provide a
creamy consistency and full avour.
• When following recipes in which the sugar is not dissolved, use very ne sugar.
Sugar makes the ice cream stiffer and also prevents the formation of large ice
crystals.
• When using frozen fruit, it is not necessary to rst let the fruit thaw. It is easier to
purée fruit which is still half frozen.
• Ice cream will stay softer when alcohol is added.

TO CONSIDER FOR AN OPTIMAL RESULT
• For an optimal result, it is advised to pre-cool the freezer bowl and the mixture in
advance.
• The ice cream made by the machine is soft and spoonable. Serve the ice cream
immediately. Then it will taste the best.
• If the ice cream has not set up sufciently after about 40 minutes, put it in the
freezer until it is solid enough.
24 HOURS IN ADVANCE: FREEZE BOWL
1. The bowl must be completely dry when it is put in the freezer.
2. Put the bowl in a freezer bag and close it up to prevent ice formation.
3. Put the bowl in the freezer for at least 24 hours (min. -18°C).
4. Only take the bowl out of the freezer just before churning the ice cream to make
sure that the bowl is as cold as possible.
4 HOURS IN ADVANCE: PREPARE THE MIXTURE
1. Prepare the mixture according to the recipe. Up to 1000 ml can be made in the ice
cream machine per cycle.
2. Put the mixture in the refrigerator for about 4 hours.
CHURNING THE ICE CREAM IN THE ICE CREAM MACHINE
Put the mixture into the machine only when the machine is set up and is on.
Otherwise the mixture will freeze to the interior walls of the bowl.
Work fast, so that the bowl and the mixture stay as cold as possible.
1. Put the motor block in the lid, so that it falls into place.
2. Put the connector into the underside of the motor block.
3. Put the mixing arm into the connector.
4. Take the bowl out of the freezer and out of the bag and place it in the ring.
5. Place the ring with the handles on the container.
6. Put the cover with the balls in the recesses on the ring and turn the cover to secure
it to the ring.
7. Put the plug into the outlet and press the on/off button on the top of the motor
block.
EN

DO2309I
56
Note: Do not turn the machine off during the churning process.
8. Now pour the mixture into the bowl through the ll opening in the cover.
9. Let the machine churn until the ice cream has the desired consistency. This
usually takes about 30 minutes. If the ice cream is not hard enough after 40
minutes , turn the machine off and put the ice cream in the freezer to let it harden
further.
10. Press the on/off button to stop the machine.
11. Pull the plug from the outlet.
12. Turn the cover to lift it off and remove it.
13. Take the ice cream out of the bowl with a rubber spatula or a wooden spoon. The
ice is ready to eat. If you want it a bit harder, you can put it in the freezer to let it
harden. But in that case, be sure to remove the ice cream from the bowl rst.
CLEANING
Note: Always unplug the machine from the outlet before performing
maintenance.
Note: Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning products.
1. Take the mixing arm and the connector off of the motor block.
2. Take the motor block out of the cover.
3. Grab the ring on the handles and take the bowl out of the container.
4. Clean the motor block clean with a slightly moist soft cloth.
5. Let the bowl cool to room temperature and wash it in water not warmer than 40°C
with a mild detergent.
6. Wash the other components by hand in warm water and a little detergent.
(only the mixing arm may go into the dishwasher). Dry all of the components
thoroughly.

CHECKLIST FOR PROBLEMS
If the machine is not working as it should, rst check this checklist to see if the
problem can be easily resolved.
Note: Never try to repair the machine yourself.
Problem Possible Cause/Solution
The machine does not start up. Put the plug into the outlet.
There are ice crystals on the bowl. Completely dry the bowl and put the
bowl in a freezer bag before putting it
into the freezer.
The ice cream comes out of the bowl
during churning.
The mixture works itself upward during
churning. Use a smaller amount of the
mixture.
The ice cream is still too runny. Were the bowl and the mixture cold
enough? Put the ice cream into the
freezer to harden further.
The device turns itself off. The overheating safety switch has
probably engaged. Pull the plug and wait
until the motor has cooled.
