15-Language Talking Phrase Translator for the Traveler
INTRODUCTION
This translator serves as a handy pronunciation tool for the international traveler and tourist.
It allows the user to cross-translate 15 international languages.
Each language stores 700 commonly used travel-related sentences.
OPERATING TEMPERATURE AND ENVIRONMENT
To prevent malfunction, the translator should not be exposed to extreme temperatures such as below 14 degrees (F) or higher than 104 degrees (F).
Do not immerse the translator in water.

TO SWITCH THE POWER ON AND OFF
* Toggle press (2) to turn the translator ON or OFF.
* Auto powers off if there is no input for 5 minutes.
TO SELECT FUNCTIONS
* Press the MODE (4) key to choose either HOME TIME or WORLD TIME –DAILYALARM TIME –ADDRESS BOOK –PASSWORD LOCK SETUP.
TO ADJUST THE LCD CONTRAST
* Press MODE (4) key until the screen shows Setup: ENG◄►ENG, then press ▼ and ENTER (7).
* Press ◄ or ► to adjust the LCD Contrast level, then press ENTER (7) to confirm.
TO ENABLE AND DISABLE PowerSAVE
* Backlight will turn off when the unit is in speech mode to save battery power.
* Press MODE (4) key until the screen shows Setup: ENG◄►ENG, then press ▼ three times and ENTER (7).
* Press ▼or ▲ to enable and disable PowerSAVE, then press ENTER (7) to confirm.
TO ADJUST VOICE VOLUME LEVEL
* Slide the VOL switch (12) to ( o ) for Low, ( o ) for Medium or ( O ) for High.
TO SWITCH KEY TONE ON AND OFF
* Press MODE (4) key until the screen shows Setup: ENG◄►ENG, then press ▲ and ENTER (7).
* Press ▼or ▲ to enable and disable Key tone, then press ENTER (7) to confirm.
TO SET HOME AND TARGET LANGUAGE
* Select your Home language and Target language for translation.
* Press MODE (4) key until the screen shows Setup: ENG◄►ENG, then press ENTER (7), screen shows Home: ENG, press ▼or ▲ to select your Home
language then press ENTER (7).
* Screen will show: “Target: ENG”, press ▼or ▲ to select the desired Target language then press ENTER (7) to confirm.

TO TRANSLATE
* Refer to the Phrase manual with phrase numbers for easy search.
* Press one of the eight topics (3) —General, Emergency, Entertainment, Sightseeing, Direction, Restaurant, Transport, or Hotel, the screen shows the topic,
continue pressing until a desired sub-topic appears, then press ENTER (7) to validate.
* Use ▼ or ▲ to search a phrase (press and hold the ▼ or ▲ for faster search).
* Press ENTER (7) to view the translated phrase, you can either press VOICE (10) to hear the Target language or press VOICE HOME (9) to hear your home
language.
* When LED backlight is on, there is a 10-second interval between each spoken phrase, to avoid sound confusion.
EASY TARGET LANGUAGE SWITCHING
* Press the NEXT LANG (18) button to scroll through the available languages until you have selected the target language of your choice.
TO SAVE FREQUENTLY USED PHRASE
* When the screen shows the desired phrase, press SAVE (6) once.
TO RECALL STORED PHRASES
* Press RECALL (5), then ▼ or ▲ to search stored phrases.
TO DELETE STORED PHRASES
* When the stored phrase is shown, press CLEAR (8) once to delete the stored phrase.
LEARN & SAY (OPTIONAL FEATURE)
* Record and playback your voice
* Press and hold REC (16) button to record your own voice for 10 seconds
* Press PLAY (17) button once to playback recorded voice
* Record new voice to replace the previous recorded voice.

TO TURN LED BACKLIGHT ON AND OFF (1)
* Move the switch to position to turn the LED backlight on.
* Move the switch to position to turn the LED backlight off.
TO SET HOME TIME
* Press MODE (4) until the screen shows time and calendar.
* Press and hold ENTER (7) for 2 seconds and a city name will start to flash.
* Press ▼ or ▲ to select the home city name then press ENTER (7) to confirm, the year will start to flash
* Press ▼ or ▲ to select the year then press ENTER (7) to confirm.
* Repeat the above procedure to set the Month, Day and Time.
TO VIEW WORLD TIME
* In Home Time mode, press ▼ or ▲ to view World Time and Calendar for 24 cities.

TO ENABLE DAILY ALARM
* Press MODE (4) until the screen shows “ALARM -- : --“ , then press ENTER (7) to enable the alarm function.
* When hour digit blinks, press ▼ or ▲ to set Hour and Minutes (◄ and ► to shift position) then press ENTER (7) to confirm.
TO DISABLE DAILY ALARM
* Press MODE (4) until the screen shows the ALARM Time.
* Press ▼ or ▲ to disable the alarm function.
TO STOP ALARM SOUND
* When the alarm time is reached, the alarm will sound for 60 seconds. Press any key to stop the alarm sound.
* The alarm will sound again at same time each day until cancelled.
TO STORE ADDRESSES
* ADDRESS BOOK is capable of storing a maximum of 30 phone numbers.
* Press MODE (4) until the screen shows the ADDRESS BOOK, then press ENTER (7) once so that the left cursor blinks.
* Press ▼ or ▲ to search from A~Z, a~z and 0~9, (◄ and ► to shift position) then press ENTER (7) to confirm.
* NO. will appear in the right corner and the left cursor will blink, press ▼ or ▲ to search and input numbers.
* It is recommended that all phone number data be stored in a hard copy to prevent data loss.
TO SEARCH ADDRESS BOOK RECORDS
* Press MODE (4) until ADDRESS BOOK is reached, then press ▼ or ▲ to search through records, press ► to view the phone number.
TO EDIT RECORDS
* Search to the desired record, press ENTER (7) once, the left character will blink, then use ▼ or ▲ to correct, ◄ and ► to shift position then press ENTER (7) to
confirm.
TO DELETE STORED RECORDS
* When the stored record is shown, press CLEAR (8) once and select YES (▲) or NO (▼) to delete the stored record.
TO ENABLE PASSWORD LOCK
* Press MODE (4) until the screen shows LOCK?_ _ _ _.
* Use ▼, ▲, ◄ and ► to enter a 4-digit password, then press ENTER (7) to confirm locked.
TO TEMPORARILY UNLOCK
* If ADDRESS BOOK is locked, a “LOCKED” message will be shown on the display when the MODE (4) key is pressed to ADDRESS BOOK.
* Input the 4-digit password then press ENTER (7), ADDRESS BOOK will then be temporarily be unlocked.
* After viewing or editing the record(s), ADDRESS BOOK will lock again.
TO PERMANENTLY UNLOCK
* Press MODE (4) until the screen shows “UNLOCK? _ _ _ _”.
* Input the 4-digit password, the lock will be permanently removed.
RESET
In case of an abnormal display, press RESET (11) key located on the back of the case to reset the translator.
CAUTION: PERSONAL SET UPANDALL STORED PHONE DATAWILL BE PERMANANTLY ERASED.
CAUTION
“In an environment with high electrostatic discharge, the product may not operate normally. It may be necessary to reset the unit.”
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ATTACHING THE NECK STRING
* Press both sides of female clasp to detach from neck string.
* Slide neck string loop through the slot at the bottom of unit.
* Push the female clasp though the neck string loop and pull tight.
* Insert the male clasp to female clasp.
EARPHONE INSTALLATION (optional accessory) (15)
* Plug the earphone into the socket which is located at the bottom of left corner ( )
* Turn the Volume to LOW to avoid harmful to hearing
BATTERY INSTALLATION (13) & (14)
This translator is operated by two Lithium batteries #CR2032. Batteries should be replaced when display looks dim or
voices become distorted.
It is recommended that only experienced technicians to replace the batteries.
To insert or replace the batteries, You MUST turn the power off and do not press any button. Insert a flat tool in the DOOR LOCK trough
then press downward, slide the battery door away, replace two pieces fresh batteries, making sure that polarity is correct, put
the battery door back to the main unit then shut the battery door lock firmly.
To retain phonebook records in Address Book, battery replacement process must be completed within 60 seconds.
Alternatively, you can save the data elsewhere at your own choice.

Limited Warranty
Lingo Corp., warrants this product against defects in material or workmanship as follows:
1. For a period of SIX (6) months from the date of original purchase. Lingo Corp., shall at its sole and absolute option either repair or replace
without change, the defective unit with the same model or an equivalent mode.
2. To obtain warranty service, you must take the product or deliver the product prepaid, along with proof of purchase and $5.00 to cover return
handling, package and postage, too the Lingo parts Canter-Exchange Department at the address set forth below. Proof of purchase in the form
of a bill of sale, receipted invoice which is evidence that the unit is within the warranty period must be presented to obtain warranty service.
This warranty does not cover cosmetic damage or claims for due to abuses, modification, improper maintenance, misuse or acts of God.
This warranty is valid only for products purchased through authorized exporters/importers, distributors and dealers. Repair of replacement,
as provided under this warranty, is the exclusive remedy of the consumer, Lingo corp. shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential
damages for breach of any product expressed or implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular on this product is limited in
duration of this warranty. Some states do not allows the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or allow limitations on how long
an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations or exclusion does not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also
have other rights which vary from state to state.
