The LION PRECISION LRD6110C is an electronic capacitive sensorused to monitorlabelregistration
and/orcountlabels. The sensorwilloutputa signalindicating the leading ortrailing edge ofthe
labelas itpasses through the sensor.This custom ized sensorincludes an analog outputwhich is
proportionalto the am ountofmaterialin the sensor.
Connecting to the Sensor
Warnings:
Sensorbody is connected to Ground.
U nused wires mustbe insulated from contactwith otherobjects.
Allpow ermustbe offwheninstalling the sensor.

Setup Procedure
1. Webmustrem ain in contactwith the m ounting plate.
2. Labelmustpass underthe [-SENSOR-]indicator.
3. Sm alllabels should be centered underthe [-SENSOR-]indicator.
4. Whenproperly setup,the lights willmovebetw een WEBand LA B EL.The lights in the “X”
region should only lightbriefly during the transition betw een WEBand LA B EL regions.
SensorSetup
1. Turn Span atleastfourturns counter-clockw ise,then two
turns clockw ise (this is the mid-pointofthe adjustment
range)
2. Place web(liner)only in sensor
3. AdjustShiftuntilLED #2is on,then adjustShift
justto the
pointwhere LED #1is on.
4. Slow ly movea labelgap through the sensorand verify that
the indicatorlights LED # 1 as the gap passes through the
sensor.Ifitdoes not,adjustShiftas necessary untilitdoes.
5. Setup com plete
Ifthe setup does notgive reliable results (usually forlabels less
than 1"),turn Span fourturns clockw ise (m aximum gain)and
repeatsteps 2-5.Itis im portantthatthe indicatoronly cross the
“X ” regi
on during transition from webto label.
Notes:
1) The LRD6110 maynotwork reliably with solid foil
labels.Som e inks,usually black,have a high carbon
content.Ifthe labelis flood coated (100% coverage)
with the ink itm ay behave like a solid foillabel.
