Keep this user manual carefully for the life of this product. The product is only to be used in
combination with this manual.
Please read the instructions carefully before putting your Living Flame Brooklyn fire to use
SAFETY WARNINGS
A. This appliance can be lit electronically or with a gas match. When lighting, follow these
instructions exactly.
B. Before lighting, smell all around the appliance area for gas. Be sure to smell next to the base of
the appliance as some gases can be heavier than air and will settle to the floor
WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS:
• Do not try to light any appliance.
• Do not touch any electrical switch, do not use any phone nearby
• Immediately leave the property and contact your local gasfitter
C. Use only your hand to turn the gas control knob, never use tools. If the control knob won’t turn by
hand, call a qualified service technician. Force or attempted repair can result in additional damage
D. Do not use the appliance if any part has been under water. Immediately call a qualified service
technician to inspect the appliance and replace or repair any part which has been under water
LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Depress button on ignitor and verify a spark is being produced between the electrode tip and
receiving probe
2. Turn the gas control knob to the on position
3. Depress the ignitor button and continue holding button, then depress the blue gas flow button.
Once the burner has lit, release the ignitor button, but continue holding the blue gas flow button
for a further 15 seconds
4. Release the blue gas flow button and the flame should continue
EXTINGUISHING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Turn the gas control knob to the “OFF” position. If using a portable LPG bottle, it’s best to also
turn off the bottle.
INITIAL USAGE PROCEDURE
When you first light the appliance, you may notice that it produces heat which may have an odour. It
may require 3 to 4 hours continuous burn for the odour to stop.
