ABOUT GRINGDING COFFEE
The proper grin gives the most flavorful cup of coffee. The grin size an amount epen on the metho by
which the coffee is to be brewe . Generally, the finer the grin the more quickly the coffee shoul be prepare .
That is why coffee groun for an espresso machine extraction is much finer than coffee to be brewe in a rip
system.
Coffee that is groun too fine for a particular brewing process - (For example, fine espresso grin use in a filter
rip coffee machine) will result in over-extraction an bitter, pungent tasting coffee. Conversely, coffee that is too
coarse for a particular brew metho will result in un er-extraction an weak, watery coffee. If the correct grin is
use , a ing more coffee simply makes a brew stronger without making it bitter.
In a ition to provi ing a range of grin settings, coffee grin ers provi e a consistent grin . This is important to
ensure the extraction is consistent across all of the groun coffee particles.
