Instructions for use and recommendations
3.1 Hand-setting,
correction of time-zones and date:
by means
of
three-position
multifunction
stem:
1. Pushed-in position:
Watch operating
(motor
on).
2. Intermediate position:
Correction of time-zones and date.
By
turning
the stem forwards
or
backwards,
the
hour
hand is
advanced
or
recoiled by successive steps
of
one
entire
hour
,
without
influencing the minutes and
seconds indication.
2.1
Correction of time-zones:
Turn the stem
forwards
or
backwards until
the
watch shows the
time
of
the desired
time-
zone. When passing
midnight
,
the
calendar
automatically shows a new date, i.e. the date
of
the
next day
or
the date
of
the
preceding
day, depending on the direction in
which
the
correction
is being made.
2.2 Correction of date:
Turn the
hour
hand forwards or backwards as
many times 24 hours
as
you want to advance
or
recoil days.
N.
B.:
During these operations, the minute hand may have
a little oscillating motion, due
to
the shake
of
the wheels.
However, this does
not
affect the accuracy
of
the display,
the shake being automatically equalized as soon as
the
stem is pushed into the operating position.
3. Fully extended position:
Watch stopped
(motor
off)
Position
of
stocking.
Hand-setting with second hand stopped.
N.
B.:
Hand-setting can be made
either
forwards
or
backwards. If it is made
forwards
,
it
is recommended
to
overpass by some minutes
the
time
indicated
by
the
reference
clock
, and then come back
to
the
exact
hour
before pushing
the
stem home.
The starting
of
the second hand is synchronized
with
the
closing
of
the
electric contact
(logic
hand-setting
func-
tion), the
first
jump
of
the second hand
occurring
one
second after
the
stem has been pushed
back
to
the
operating position (at the
third
"
pip
"
of
the speaking
clock
,
for
example).
3.2 Stocking of watches
When
the
stem is in the
position
of
stocking
,
i.e
.
fully
extended, only
th
e
motor
is
switched
off. The
oscillator
remains in
circuit
and goes
on
consuming
a very
slight
current. If
the
stocking
time
exceeds
six
months
,
it
is therefore re
commended
to
replace
the battery when the watch is sold.
