2. Product description
2.1 Product Overview
ESS R050096 home energy storage system products are composed of lithium batteries and
bidirectional energy storage inverters (hereinafter referred to as PCS), providing renewable energy
applications and uninterruptible power supply support services. The system can be used in
scenarios where photovoltaics are used spontaneously and the excess is connected to the Internet:
during the day, photovoltaic power generation first meets the power demand of the load, and the
excess electricity charges the battery or the grid; when there is no photovoltaic at night, the load
can choose to use the grid or battery power supply.
2.1.1 Battery
The battery system is based on a lithium iron phosphate battery and adopts a modular parallel
design lithium battery system.
◼Mainly consists of one cabinet and multiple battery modules.
◼The nominal capacity of the battery is 2.4kWh, and the nominal voltage of the battery is 48V.
◼The single cabinet supports up to four 48V/50Ah battery modules in parallel.
◼Supports up to two cabinets in parallel and can be expanded to 19.2KWh.
◼Customized battery management system (BMS), real-time data acquisition, status monitoring
and control to ensure safe and reliable operation of the system.
The system has flexible configuration and high reliability, which can be widely applied to
household energy storage scenarios.
2.1.2 Inverter
◼220V Single-phase Pure sine wave inverter.
◼Self-consumption and feed-in to the grid.
◼Auto restart while AC is recovering.
◼Programmable supply priority for battery or grid.
◼Programmable multiple operation modes: On grid, off grid and UPS.
◼Configurable battery charging current/voltage based on applications by LCD setting.
◼Configurable AC/Solar/Generator Charger priority by LCD setting.
◼Compatible with mains voltage or generator power.
◼Overload/over temperature/short circuit protection.
◼Smart battery charger design for optimized battery performance
◼With limit function, prevent excess power overflow to the grid.
◼Supporting WIFI monitoring and build-in 2 strings of MPP trackers
◼Smart settable three stages MPPT charging for optimized battery performance.
◼Time of use function.
2.2 Structure and composition
The product adopts a modular design framework. The battery box, energy storage inverter and
power distribution box are installed in the form of components for easy replacement.
The product adopts a modular design framework, and the four battery modules are assembled
in components for easy replacement.

(2) Adjust the mounting bracket.
Picture 3-3 Adjust the mounting bracket
The original mounting bracket is suitable for 12, 16-inch installation space. If it is suitable for
installation of 20 and 24 inches, remove the screws in the red circle in the figure above, and move
the removed parts to the left and right by a screw hole position according to the direction of the
arrow to fix the screws. The adjusted bracket is suitable for installation space of 20 or 24 inches.
(3) Fixed installation bracket:
Place the mounting bracket on a suitable position on the wall, draw a mark on the mounting
hole with a pen, and drill a hole with a diameter of φ12 at a depth of 70mm; insert the expansion
screw seat into the hole and knock to the end; after unscrewing the screw, the mounting bracket is
fixed to the wall, Tighten the screws with a wrench.

(4) Installing the cabinet: Hang the cabinet to the mounting bracket, fix the 4 screws removed in the
first step, and complete the installation.
Picture 3-5Install the battery cabinet
Note: When installing on the ground, the height of the wall drillhole positions must ensure that the
cabinet feet can touch the ground, and then adjust the feet locking nuts with a wrench.

3.3.2 Hybrid inverter Installation Guide
This Hybrid inverter is designed for outdoor use (IP65), Please make sure the installation site
meets below conditions:
◼Not in direct sunlight.
◼Not in areas where highly flammable materials are stored.
◼Not in potential explosive areas.
◼Not in the cool air directly.
◼Not near the television Antenna or antenna cable.
◼Not higher than altitude of about 2000 meters above sea level.
◼Not in environment of precipitation or humidity (>95%).
Please AVOID direct sunlight, rain exposure, snow laying up during installation and operation.
Before connecting all wires, please take off the metal cover by removing screws as shown below:
Positive and negative terminal

- Instruction Manual for ESS R050096 - 16
Considering the following points before selecting where to install:
◼Please select a vertical wall with load-bearing capacity for installation, suitable for
◼installation on concrete or other non-flammable surfaces, installation is shown below.
◼Install this inverter at eye level in order to allow the LCD display to be read at all times.
◼The ambient temperature should be between -25~60℃ to ensure optimal operation.
◼Be sure to keep other objects and surfaces as shown in the diagram to guarantee sufficient heat
dissipation and have enough space for removing wires.
For proper air circulation to dissipate heat, allow a clearance of approx. 500mm to the side.
And approx.500mm above and below the unit. And 1000mm to the front.
◼Mounting the inverter
Remember that this inverter is heavy! Please be careful when lifting out from the package.
Choose the recommend drill head (as shown in below pic) to drill 4 holes on the wall, 52-60mm
deep.
(1) Use a proper hammer to fit the expansion bolt into the holes.

- Instruction Manual for ESS R050096 - 17
(2) Carry the inverter and holding it, make sure the hanger aim at the expansion bolt, and fix the
inverter on the wall.
(3) Fasten the screw head of the expansion bolt to finish the mounting.
3.4 Battery system cable connection
Note: This section mainly describes the battery module assembly instructions. If the battery
packs have been installed in the cabinet, you can skip this section.
Note: Before wiring, make sure each battery module is turned off.
3.4.1 Battery modules grounding
