Introduction
Thank you for choosing LUBCON as your partner in lubricant supply.
Before converting an air compressor to LUBCON high performance lubricants please consult the
Technical Support Team of Lubricant Consult GmbH or the authorized sales representative in your area
to confirm the compatibility of LUBCON compressor oils and the previous used lubricants. Not all base
oils are compatible. Special caution is required.
Please find below the base oil types of the LUBCON high grade compressor lubricants.

To avoid damage to the compressor unit and to assure best lubricant performance in your compressor
please read the following instructions carefully and follow the below measures.

1 Check compatibility of base oil
Check base oil type of the existing compressor fluid and the LUBCON compressor lubricant you would
like to convert to. If the base oil type is the same (for exp.: PAO and PAO) please proceed with step 2. If
the base oil is not compatible (for exp.: PAO and Polyglycol or Ester) and/or if filters or separator are
heavily contaminated please perform the following steps:
1.1 Rinse air compressor
Drain approximately 5% of the existing compressor oil and add 5% LUBCON special compressor cleaner
Compclean®STS into the compressor. It cleans easily residues of lubricants based on Polyglycol or
Ester and removes deposits and varnish. Run mixture for approx. 60 hours.
The run time should be decided by the severity of contamination and the condition of the air compressor.
Make sure all valves, tubes, lubricant reservoir, pneumatic tubes and hoses are clean and free of
residues.
2 Drain lubricant
Drain compressor oil after shutdown while the fluid is still warm at all drain points as completely as
possible.
3 Clean or change compressor parts
Check all filters, valves, coolers, separators and all pneumatic tubes and hoses for deposits. Remove
deposits or change the parts if applicable. To assure all contamination and that the oxidized oil is
removed from compressor change oil separator and oil filter
4 Fill compressor with LUBCON high grade compressor oil.
