TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
The root milling machine BFS-15 is a hand-held machine and is powered by a powerful 4-stroke
OHV gasoline engine.
The motor drives the milling wheel via V-belts.
The milling wheel is covered by the protective hood. Slight pressure on the handlebar controls the
milling wheels depth and direction.
The handle bar is equipped with a height-adjustable handle.
The left bike is braked, the right bike is free-running, i.e. not braked.
A wide chassis and wheels with air tyres allow for convenient transport.
A hand-start device serves as the starting device for the gasoline engine. The engine speed is
controlled by the throttle lever on the handlebar.

Be careful with hot engine parts! Running motors generate heat. Engine parts, especially the
exhaust, become extremely hot. Keep sufficient distance from hot surfaces and keep children away
from the running motor.
When refilling or draining the fuel, use a gasoline-approved container in a clean, well-ventilated
area. Smoking, sparks, open flames or other sources of ignition are not allowed in the vicinity and
when filling the fuel. Filling the fuel tank in a closed room is not permitted. Keep grounded,
conductive objects such as tools, clear, current-conducting lines, and connectors away to avoid
sparks or arcs. These can ignite gas or vapors.
Before refilling the fuel, always turn off the engine and let it cool down. Never remove the fuel
cap and fill fuel when the engine is running or is still hot. In the case of leaking fuel lines, the
machine must not be put into operation.
Carefully loosen the tank lid so that the existing pressure in the tank can slowly degrade.
Do not overflow the fuel tank (there should be no fuel above the upper limit mark). Use
appropriate filling aids.

Screw the tank lid onto the fuel tank. immediately wipe the spilled fuel. Never operate the device
without the tightly screwed-on tank lid.
There should be no ignition source near spilled fuel. If fuel is spilled, remove the machine from
there. Do not attempt to start the engine and avoid any ignition source until the fuel fumes are
discharged.
Store the fuel only in containers that are specially approved for this purpose.
Store the fuel in a cool, well-ventilated area, away from heat, open flame and ignition sources.
Fuel, or the engine with fuel in the tank, should never be stored inside a building where it can
come into contact with sparks, an open flame or any other source of ignition, such as water
heaters, ovens, tumble dryers and the like. The engine should cool down before the machine is
stored in a closed room.
Safety during use and maintenance of the machine
Do not lift or transport the machine when the engine is running.
Do not overload your machine. Work in the specified power range.
Do not change the main settings of the motor and do not overturn the motor. If they do not mill,
the motor should not run at increased speed.
Never operate the machine without protective and safety devices. Unmounted protective devices
are a source of danger and can cause serious injury.
Keep hands and feet away from rotating parts.
Avoid contact with hot fuel, oil, exhaust gases and hot surfaces. Never touch the engine or exhaust
when the engine is running or after switching off. These areas become very hot and can cause
burns.
Allow a certain amount of time to cool the engine before you start maintenance or adjustment.
If the root cutter starts to make noise or rotate unusually, turn off the motor immediately. Unplug
spark cable and try to find the cause of the malfunction. Unusual noises or rotations are usually a
warning of problems.
In case of malfunctions on the handlebar, stop and turn off the root cutter immediately. Remove
the spark plug plug and wait for the tools to stop. Eliminate the fault immediately.
Always use original accessories. The use of other tools and accessories can result in unforeseeable
machine damage or a risk of injury to the user.
