IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

the product or provided with the product.
11. Contains Li-Ion battery. Battery must be
recycled or disposed of properly. Do not open,
crush, heat above 140° F or incinerate.

General Safety Instructions
1. Keep proper footing and balance at
all times during installation.
2. People with pacemakers should consult their
physician(s) before use. Electromagnetic fields in
close proximity to heart pacemaker could cause
pacemaker interference or pacemaker failure.
3. Use as intended only.
4. Maintain labels and nameplates on the String Light.
These carry important safety information.
If unreadable or missing, contact

INSTALLING/REPLACING LED LIGHT BULBS
Read the ENTIRE IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS section at the beginning of this manual
including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this product.
Procedures not specifically explained in this manual must be performed only by a qualified technician.
TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY: Unplug the String Light from the Solar Panel and
allow it to cool before performing any procedure in this section.
Do not replace light bulbs during rain or when wet.
1. Unscrew existing bulbs carefully, they
should be tight to keep moisture out.
2. Replace with medium base .1 Watt LED light bulbs.
Screw each bulb into socket clockwise until top of
socket forms a tight seal around the light bulb and
bulb makes solid contact with socket. See below.
Incorrectly installed bulbs will not seal correctly
and can cause injury or death from electric shock.

Installing Solar Panel on a solid surface
1. Choose a stable location that can safely hold the weight of the Solar Panel
and receives full, direct sunlight a minimum of 8 hours a day.
2. Secure Wall Mount to surface using two screws.
3. Thread the panel shaft onto Wall Mount.
4. Adjust the position of the Solar Panel using the thumbscrew at the panel’s base.

Installing Solar Panel in the ground
1. Decide where you want to place the Solar Panel. Choose a location that receives full,
direct sunlight a minimum of 8 hours a day. The location should not be near nighttime light
sources such as porch lights or streetlights as this will cause the panel to remain off.
2. Confirm that the location is clear of lines, cables and conduits.
3. With a rubber mallet (not included), tap the Ground Stake into the ground.
4. Thread the panel shaft onto Ground Stake.
5. Adjust the position of the Solar Panel using the thumbscrew at the panel’s base.

1. Charge Solar Panel in direct sunlight for at least 6 hours.
2. After charging time has elapsed, connect String Light Cord to Solar Panel
Cord, then connect Solar Panel Cord to Solar Panel.

3. Press Power button on back of Solar Panel to turn on.
4. Locate the Toggle Switch on the back of Solar Panel. Settings are as follows:
a. Toggle Right - Auto On: Lights turn on at dusk. Lights turn off either after 6 hours or at dawn.
b. Toggle Left - Manual On: Lights turn on immediately and will turn off when
battery discharges. When battery discharges and is under sunlight, the battery
will begin to charge. Switch to Auto On for the light to turn on at dusk.
Note: Lights will operate up to 6 hours with a full charge.
For optimal performance at night, Solar Panel should
receive approximately 8 hours of sunlight per day.

Maintenance
1. Clean regularly with a damp towel.
Do not clean with solvent.
Do not put too much pressure on the Solar Panel
or accessories while cleaning. Dry thoroughly.
2. BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the general
condition of the tool. Check for:
• leaking, swollen, or cracked battery,
• loose hardware,
• misalignment or binding of parts,
• cracked or broken parts, and
• any other condition that may
affect its safe operation.
3. AFTER USE, wipe external surfaces
of the tool with clean cloth.
4. Contains Li-Ion battery. Battery must be recycled
or disposed of properly. Do not open, crush, heat
above 140° F or incinerate. BEFORE EACH USE,
inspect the general condition of the tool. Check for:
• loose hardware,
• damaged cord/electrical wiring,
• cracked or broken parts, and
• any other condition that may affect its safe operation.
5. To replace battery, open battery cover on
back of Solar Panel using a screwdriver (not
included), remove old battery, and replace
with a new 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-Ion battery.

Limited 90 Day Warranty
Harbor Freight Tools Co. makes every effort to assure that its products meet high quality and durability standards,
and warrants to the original purchaser that this product is free from defects in materials and workmanship
for the period of 90 days from the date of purchase. This warranty does not apply to damage due directly
or indirectly, to misuse, abuse, negligence or accidents, repairs or alterations outside our facilities, criminal
activity, improper installation, normal wear and tear, or to lack of maintenance. We shall in no event be liable
for death, injuries to persons or property, or for incidental, contingent, special or consequential damages
arising from the use of our product. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
consequential damages, so the above limitation of exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty is expressly
in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including the warranties of merchantability and fitness.
To take advantage of this warranty, the product or part must be returned to us with transportation charges
prepaid. Proof of purchase date and an explanation of the complaint must accompany the merchandise.
If our inspection verifies the defect, we will either repair or replace the product at our election or we may
elect to refund the purchase price if we cannot readily and quickly provide you with a replacement. We will
return repaired products at our expense, but if we determine there is no defect, or that the defect resulted
from causes not within the scope of our warranty, then you must bear the cost of returning the product.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
