Introduction
Thank you for purchasing a LUPUS GEODOME® camera. Before you begin to use
your camera, please carefully read the following security and installation instructions.
Keep the manual in order to be able to refer to it in case of any open questions in the
future. Descriptions, figures, and technical data can change because of technological
advancement. Hence, we advise you to download the latest PDF-version of this
manual from our homepage.

Notes for usage and installation
This camera is a high quality surveillance device. Please keep the following security
information in mind:
Do never angle the camera directly into the sun.
Do never angle the camera directly into a spotlight.
Handle with care. Strong vibrations or impacts could damage the camera.
Never tough internal components of the camera.
Do not install the camera close to any strong electrical wires. This could
influence the quality of the images.
Do not install the camera directly on an aluminium or iron pole. You need to
insulate it with rubber coating. Otherwise, the video transmission can be
disrupted.
Keep in mind that the cameras are not designed to be operated in areas with
extreme temperature and moisture conditions. Adhere to the limits specified in
the technical data stated on our homepage.
This device is not designed to be handled by persons (including children) with
limited physical, sensorial, or mental abilities, as well as, persons who are
lacking the necessary knowledge. Only if they are supervised or instructed by
someone responsible for their security, these persons should handle this
device. Children should be supervised in order to make sure that they do not
play with the device.
Do not leave packing material lying around. Plastic bags, sheeting, etc. can
pose a danger to children if played with. The camera includes cables which
can could lead to strangulation if handled improperly. The camera contains
small parts which could be swallowed, and should be kept out of reach of
children for safety reasons. Install the camera in a position in which children
cannot reach it.
Please pay attention to the safety information and user guides of the other
connected devices.
Adhere to the operating voltage limits specified in the technical data. Higher
voltages could destroy the device and pose a health risk (electric shock).

In case you encounter an error
In case you encounter an error, disconnect the camera from its power source and
contact your distributor. Additional usage increases the danger of a fire or of an
electrical shock.
Designated use
When you install the camera make sure that you do not violate the personal rights of
others. Any usage which is not described in this manual is not allowed and leads to a
loss of warranty, as well as, a decline of liability. This also includes modifications.
1. General Introduction
1.1.Overview
The LUPUS GEODOME LE 337HD and 338HD conform to the HD-CVI standard.
They support long distance, high speed video signal transmission without any delay.
They can be controlled by DVRs conforming to the HD-CVI standard.
1.1.Features
High-performance CMOS image sensor.
Supports coaxial HD video transmission and control signal.
Supports 75-3 coaxial cable transmission without any quality loss.
Transmission range: GEODOME –LE 337HD ~500m / 546 yards
GEODOME –LE338HD ~ 300m / 238 yards.
Long distance, high speed transmission in real time.
Supports HD-CVI and analogue output in HD and SD quality.
The GEODOME –LE337HD supports framerates of 25, 30, 50, and 60 frames
per second in 720P.
The GEODOME –LE338HD supports framerates of 25 and 30 frames per
second in 1080P. Additionally, the GEODOME –LE 338HD can also be
operated in 720P mode and then supports framerates of 25, 30, 50, and 60
frames per second.

Supports high performance noise reduction.
Performs excellently in low illumination.
Supports ICR switch to allow surveillance by day and by night.

2. Framework and Dimensions

The cameras will transmit a high definition video signal. If you bypass the
standard definition/high definition switch control cable, the camera will
transmit a standard definition video signal.
2.2.Installation
IMPORTANT:
Before you install the camera, please make sure that the surface on
which you install the camera can at least support 3x the weight of the
camera.
2.3.GEODOME –LE 338HD
The camera is usually installed on the ceiling, but can be installed on a wall as
well.
If you want to lead the cables out of the side of the camera, please make sure
that the cable exits the camera as shown in figure 3-1.
oPut the cable through the provided cable exit at the side of the camera
before you screw the base camera onto its chosen location.
Do not remove the electrostatic film before you finish the installation and make
sure that you do not scratch the chasing after you removed the film.

Step 1:
Take the installation position map enclosed in the accessories bag and place it on
the ceiling or wall where you want to install the camera. Mind the camera’s cable exit.
Drill three holes according to the positions marked in the installation map and then
push the three expansion bolts from the accessories bag into these holes.
Step 2:
Use the inner hex wrench to remove the screws of the dome enclosure.
Step 3:
Adjust he camera position according to the cable exit mode (ceiling / wall). Lay the cable
according to your preference, either through the wall behind the camera, or along the
wall next to the camera (for reasons of safety, we recommend to lay the cables through
the wall behind the camera). Put the three self-tapping screws through the holes of the
camera into the expansion bolts and then securely fix them there.
Step 4:
Adjust the camera’s angle and then fix the screws to fasten it.

Step 5:
Screw the dome enclosure back onto the camera.

Step 1:
Use the wrench to loosen the three screws from the side of the camera (Fig. 3-4).
Then unscrew the pan base from the pedestal (B2 and B1 in Fig. 3-3) of the camera.

Step 2:
Pull the cable through the opening in the camera’s pedestal and lay the cable according
to your preference, either through the wall behind the camera, or along the wall next to
the camera (for reasons of safety, we recommend to lay the cables through the wall
behind the camera). Then use four screws to fix the pedestal to the chosen position.

Step 3:
Screw the camera back onto the pedestal. Rotate the camera (B4), as well as the
base (B3), to achieve the desired angle.
3. DVR settings for the LUPUS GEODOME –LE 337HD / 338HD
Note:
The following interface is only used as a rudimentary example. Please refer to
your HD-CVI DVR manual for more detailed information.
After you have connected your camera to your HD-CVI DVR open the main menu
and continue to Setting->System->PTZ. You need to set the control mode to HDCVI
and the protocol to HD-CVI. Then click the save button.
