importanceforusingandmaintainingtheproductproperly.Itisforbiddentoremove,rewriteorinanywaymodify
thepagesandcontentsofthismanual.

WINDSENSOR:incaseofstrongwinds,theawningclosesautomatically.Thecut-inlevelofthewindsensor
(anemometer)isadjustedduringinitialstart-up,asdescribedintheInstallationManual.

RAINSENSOR:incaseofheavyrain,theawningclosesautomatically.Thecut-inleveloftheinstrumentused
tomeasurethequantityofrainfallinadeterminedperiodoftime(raingauge)isadjustedduringinitialstart-up,
asdescribedintheInstallationManual.
(OPTIONAL,onlyforpoweredawnings)
EMERGENCYMANOEUVRE:intheeventofablackout,theawningcanbeclosedwithanemergencycrank.
2.3▪Residualrisks
DANGEROFFINGERS/ARMSGETTINGCAUGHTinthefoldingarmswhiletheawningisclosingandopen-
ing.Theproductmustbeinstalledataminimumheightof2500mm.Ifthisisnotpossibleforawningsinstalled
withautomaticdevices(e.g.:windsensor,rainsensor,etc.),themanufacturerisobligedtoinstallanacoustic
warning.
3 Descriptionofawning
TheBaseLitefoldingarmawningcanbeinstalledoneitherthewallandtheceilingandcaneitherbemanually
operatedorpoweredbyamotor;inthelattercase,awindsensor(anemometer),rainsensor,dusksensorand
emergencymanoeuvrecanbeinstalledonrequest.
3.1▪Components
Theawningcomprisesametalstructureandapieceoffabric.
▪ Metal structure: this consists of a frame containing the various mechanisms for opening and closing the
awning.Itcomprisesabox(A-Fig.1),ablindrollerinside,aterminalbar(C-Fig.1),andmechanisedfolding
arms(D-Fig.1)ttedwithsheathedcablesorastainlesssteelchain.Anoptionallightskitisalsoavailable
forthisproduct.
▪ Fabric(E-Fig.1):thiscoversandprotectstheawning.
Theconstructionmaterialshavebeenchosentooptimiseresistancetowearderivingbothfromuseandthe
weather.

3.2▪Foreseenuseandconditionsofuse
Thisawninghasbeendesignedtoofferprotectionfromthesunandadjustthereectionoflightinthearea
beneathit;theproductmayonlybeusedtomovetheincorporatedfabricupanddowninordertoreachitsfully
openandclosedpositionsand,whereapplicable,intermediatepositions.
Theawningmayonlybeusedfortheabovepurpose,evenifitisinstalledwithawaterprooforPVCfabric.The
awningmaybeusedbynon-professionaladultoperators.
ATTENTION
ITISFORBIDDENtousetheawningforanyotherpurposeastherelativeoperating
conditionscouldjeopardisepersonalsafety.
ITISFORBIDDENtoplaceobjectsontheawningand/orhangontoit.
TheManufacturerdeclinesallliabilityforinjurytopersonsordamagetopropertyderivingfromimproperuse.
FailuretoobservetheconditionsofuseautomaticallyinvalidatesanywarrantygrantedbytheManu-
facturer.

INFORMATIONANDPRECAUTIONS
Operatingtheawninginicyweatherwilldamageit!
Theproductmaybeinstalledatanyheightover2500mmfromtheground;theopening/closingswitch(onlyfor
poweredawnings)mustbettedinaprotectedpositionataminimumheightof1500mmfromthegroundand
inaperfectlysafearea.
ATTENTION
Fit a keyswitch if the awning is installed in sensitive buildings such as schools,
colleges,hospitals,nursinghomes,etc.
Iftheawningis installedwitharemote controlunit,it must bekeptout of reachof
children.
TheremotecontrolunitmayalsobettedoutdoorsprovidedthecircuitisprotectedtoIP55.
Theinstallationareamustbelargeenoughtoallowtheawningtobeproperlyusedandopenedtoitsfullextent.
ATTENTION
Itisforbiddentoinstallorplaceladdersorotherobjectsintheoperatingareaofthe
awning.

4 Transportandinstallation
4.1▪Transport
Handling and transport operations are performed by the Dealer and/or Manufacturer which undertake to
transporttheproductinsuitablepackagingandkeepitinperfectconditionuntilitisdeliveredtothecustomer.
Damage to the product caused by the awning being dismounted and handled/transported after
installationisnotcoveredbythewarranty.
Disposeofand/orreusethepackagingaccordingtotheregulationsinforceinthecountrytheproductisinstalled
in.
4.2▪Installation
ATTENTION
Assembly,installationandinitialstart-upoperationsmayonlybeperformedbysuitably
qualiedspecialisedtechnicalstaffprovidedbytheDealerortheManufacturer.
All the instructions and the main safety regulations for performing these operations are described in the
“AssemblyManual”andthe“InstallationManual”.
Thepositionchosenbytheusertoinstalltheproductmustbeabletosupporttheweightoftheproductandbe
largeenoughtoallowtheawningtoopentoitsfullextent(see“InstallationManual”).

6 Maintenance

6.2▪Cleaning
ATTENTION
Switch off the mains supply before carrying out any maintenance and cleaning
operations.
Keepthefabriccleantopreventtheformationofmouldcausedbydepositsofdustorothermaterialsonthe
fabric;thiscanbedonebyvacuumingthedustorcleaningthefabricwithaspongeorclothandwarmwater.
Drythefabricafterwards.
Cleaningusingladders,trestlesandthelikemayonlybeperformedbyspecialiststaffwhomustobservecurrent
safetylegislationandusepersonalprotectiveequipmentsuchassafetyharnessesandcables.
ATTENTION
Donotusesolvents-ammonia-hydrocarbons.
6.3▪Routinemaintenance
ATTENTION

Ifperformedattheindicatedfrequencies,thefollowingoperationswillkeeptheproductingoodcondition.
Twiceayear,beforeandaftersummer
Checkthefabricfortearsorbrokenstitching:inspring,beforeuseinsummer,andinautumn,beforeclosing
forwinter.
Onceayear,beforesummer
Withtheawningapproximatelyhalfopen,lubricateallmovingpartswithsiliconoil:
▪ Ifinstalled,lubricatethechain,thejoint(A-Fig.3)andtheshoulder(B-Fig.4).
▪ Lubricatethecoveronthepartoppositethecontrol(motororcrank-rod)(C-Fig.4).

6.4▪Extraordinarymaintenance
ObligatoryextraordinarymaintenancemustbebookedwithTechnicalAssistanceeverytwoyears. Ifthisisnot
done,thewarrantywillimmediatelyceasetobevalid.
ATTENTION
All extraordinary maintenance operations must be performed by professionally
qualiedandtrainedstaff.ContactTechnicalAssistanceforaspecialist.
Todismountallorpartoftheawning,consulttheassembly,installationandstart-up
instructions.
Thewarrantywillceasetobevalidifunoriginalsparepartsareused.
Sparepartsmustberequestedfromthedealer.
7 Dismountinganddisposal
ATTENTION
Theawningmustbedismountedbyprofessionallyqualiedandtrainedstaff.Contact
TechnicalAssistanceforaspecialist.
Closetheawningbeforestarting.
Turnoffthemainspowersupplyanddisconnectthecircuitdown-linefromtheswitch.Disconnectthemotor,
tiethearmstogether,dismountthesupportsandremovetheawningfromthesupports.
Astheawningcontainsnohazardousmaterials,nospecialdisposalprecautionsarerequired.
Observetheregulationsinforceatthemomentofdisposal.
8 Optionalaccessories
TheBaselitefoldingarmawningbeassembledwiththefollowingoptionalaccessoriesonrequest:
▪ Anemometer:strongwindsensor(onlyiftheawningispowered);
▪ Raingauge:heavyrainsensor(onlyiftheawningispowered);
▪ Twilightsensor:sunsensor(onlyiftheawningispowered);
▪ Emergencymanoeuvre:allowstheawningtobe closedintheeventofablackout(only if theawningis
powered).
Thefeaturesandoperationoftheseoptionalaccessoriesaredescribedintheattachedmanualsrelativetothe
Motor,AutomaticDevicesandControls.
