specically in this manual to ensure proper use of the products.

1. Product Overview
1-1. Overview
is product is a compact, high-accuracy rotary magnescale that outputs position signals for machine
tools and other equipment requiring high-accuracy positioning.
1-2. Features
In addition to being a magnetic detection system, this product has a unit shape that enables easy installation
and provides superior environmental resistance from condensation and other eects.
Because of its extremely slim design (max. 42 mm), less space is taken up when installing in equipment.

RU74 has an interpolation circuit built into the rotary magnescale and is an A/B quadrature signal output
model.
e maximum response revolutions vary based on the minimum phase dierence time setting value of
the output signal.

RU77 has an interpolation circuit built into the rotary magnescale and is a serial communication model,
compliant with absolute serial communication specications, that enables connection to a controller.

When the scale unit is viewed from above and the machine sha is rotated in the clockwise (CW) direction,
the A signal is ahead when the polarity is “positive” and the B signal is ahead when it is “negative.”

e scale revolution angle is detected every 50 ns, and the signal is output at a phase dierential time
proportional to the revolution angle.

In the following cases, the A/B quadrature signal assumes high impedance.
e alarm is reset by turning the power o and then on again.
• When the phase dierential time of the A/B quadrature signal is less than the minimum phase
dierential time
