EXTENSION CORDS. Make sure your extension cord is in good condition.
When using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough to carry

OUTDOORUSEEXTENSIONCORDS. Whentoolisusedoutdoors, useonly
extension cords intended for use outdoors and
so
marked.
STAY ALERT. Watchwhatyou aredoing, usecommon sense. Don’t operate
tool when you are tired.
CHECK DAMAGEDPARTS. Before further use
of
the tool, a guard or other
part that is damaged should be carefully checked to determine that
it
will
operate properly andperform itsintendedfunction. Check for alignment of
moving parts, binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, mounting, and
any other conditions that may affect its operation. A guard or other part
that is damaged should be properly repaired or replaced by an authorized
service center unless otherwise indicated elsewhere
in
this instruction
manual. Havedefective switches replacedbyauthorizedservicecenter. Don’t
use tool
if
switch does not turn
it
on and off.
GUARD
AGAINST ELECTRIC SHOCK. Preventbody contact with grounded
surfaces. For example; pipes, radiators, ranges, refrigerator enclosures.
REPLACEMENTPARTS.When servicing, useonly identicalreplacementparts.
POLARIZEDPLUGS. To reduce the risk of electric shock, this equipmenthas
a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will
fit
in a
polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not
fit
fully in the outlet,
reversethe plug.
If
it
stilldoes notfit, contacta qualifiedelectrician toinstall
the proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.

VOLTAGE WARNING: Before connectingthe tooltoa powersource (receptacle,
outlet, etc.) be sure the voltage supplied is the same as that specified on the
nameplateof the tool. A power source with voltage greater than that specified
for the tool can result
in
SERIOUS INJURY tothe user
-
as well as damage to
the tool.
If
in
doubt,
DO
NOT PLUG
IN
THE TOOL. Using a power source
with
voltage less than the nameplate rating is harmful to the motor.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES
1.
When drilling intowalls, floors or whatever "live" electrical wires may be en-
countered.
DO
NOT TOUCH THE CHUCK
OR
ANY FRONT METALPARTS
OF
THE DRILL. Holdthe toolonly by the plastic handle or the sidegrip toprevent
electric shock if you drill into a "live" wire.
2.
A tooltends totwist during operation,
so
grip
it
firmly withboth hands. This
twistingaction can beespecially dangerous at the time
of
hole breakthrough,
when makingan already existing hole larger or when a hole being drilled con-
nects with another one.
3.
Solidly clamped material isyour best insurance against dangerously whirling
stock. Use a vise, clamp or holder.
4.
Watch your footing and balance in high locations. Be sure no one is below
before you begin operation.
5.
Do
notleavethe toolsomewherewhen
it
isstill running, or a dangerous acci-
dent can occur. Operate the tool only when hand-held.
6.
Do
nottoucha revolvingbitor chuck. Eithercan inflict injury or catchon some-
thing. Knit gloves should never be worn because they tend to catch.
7.
The bit and chips are red-hot after a hole has been drilled. Keep away from
them.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.

as
concrete, granite,
tile
and marble, turn the
change ring in the direction of multiple-
arrow indication. This
sets
the
tool
for
hammering
+
rotation (drilling). Use
a
con-
cretedrill bit.
Rotation
For drilling metal, wood or plastic mate-
rials, turn the change ring in the direction
of
single arrow indicating. This
sets
the
tool
for rotation (drilling) only. Use
a
con-
ventionalwood or metaldrill bit.
Change
lever
To
changethe speed, press the change lever
and slide to
L
or H.
If
the change lever doesn’t slide easily,
clank the motor slowly by turning the
chuck in either direction, while sliding the
change lever.
*
Highspeed
By
setting the change lever on high
(H),
you
get
full rotation (2,30O/min.) with
heavy hammering(46,00O/min.)
By
setting the change lever on low
(L),
a
clean job
is
obtained when drilling hard
