3. INTRODUCTION

Markbass has a keen understanding of the needs of recording and live sound engineers, and has worked long and hard to design a state-of-the-art passive direct box that fully meets these

professional requirements.

Phase distortion and harmonic distortion are most prevalent at lower frequencies, but with the Super Pro DI Box, the sound of your bass comes through nice and clear with smooth, transparent low

end. It’s extremely quiet and clean, and has been optimized to give full, rich, linear sound at all frequencies, handling extreme transients without adding any distortion or color to your sound.

The Super Pro DI Box performs beautifully with any source you put through it… not just bass.

It’s great for acoustic and electric guitars, electronic drums, high-output electronic instruments and digital keyboards.

Passive direct boxes have the advantage of providing isolation, which can reduce ground hum in systems, but this requires a high-quality transformer—and our “Yellow Box” features one of the

world’s nest! No matter what type of signal you use it for, the Super Pro DI Box always sounds full and natural.

4. FUNCTION OVERVIEW

INPUT 1 - Connect your instrument to the input of the Super Pro DI Box. Before making connections, make sure all volume levels are set

to zero and the audio system is turned o. This will avoid any loud pops in your system that could cause damage. The Super Pro DI Box is a

passive direct box: it does not require any power at all and will ignore the phantom power from your mixer, if activated.

THRU 2 - Connect to your on-stage amplier, or a second mixer, recording apparatus, or powered monitor.

XLR TO MIC INPUT 3 - The balanced XLR output allows you to connect your Super Pro DI Box directly to a mixing console or sound card

interface (either in live situations or in a recording studio). Simply connect a standard XLR cable from this output to the soundboard/mixing

console/interface, or a snake connected to the board/console/interface..

GROUND LIFT SWITCH (4) - Occasionally when you’re playing live and using the XLR LINE OUT (3), the soundman will detect a hum from

your amp’s signal. This is almost always due to a grounding problem related to your power source; you will likely eliminate this hum simply

by ipping the GROUND LIFT (4) switch.

SPEAKER OUT / LINE SWITCH 5 - The Super Pro DI Box also allows you to send the amp’s output signal (instead of the instrument signal)

to the PA or recording system, by placing the DI between the head and cabinet. Set the Speaker Out/Line Switch to“Speaker Out” and con-

nect the amp’s speaker output to the Input (1), and connect the Thru (2) output to the cabinet’s input. Before making this connection, make

sure the amp is switched o, and check that the DI is switched to “Speaker Out” if you need to reduce the input level to prevent distortion

from ultra-high output devices.

Switch the DI to “Line” when connecting your instrument directly to the DI, or when connecting lower signal output devices to the Super

Pro DI Box.

Markbass oers an international limited warranty on Markbass products purchased from any authorized Markbass dealer, eective from the day of purchase. The terms of this warranty

vary from country to country; please contact the Markbass distributor in your country for details.

Please register this product online at www.markbass.it to establish the date of purchase. However, please note that you are required to retain a copy of your receipt as proof of purchase

in order to receive warranty service.

This warranty does not apply to any damage to the product caused by misuse, mishandling, accident, abuse, alteration, modication or unauthorized repairs. Product appearance and

normal wear and tear (worn paint, scratches, etc.) are not covered by this warranty. Markbass reserves the right to be the sole arbiter regarding the misuse or abuse of this product.

Markbass assumes no liability for any incidental or consequential damages, which may result from the failure of this product. Any warranties implied in fact or by law are limited to the

duration of this express limited warranty. Your legal rights related to the warranty will vary depending on the country of purchase.

WARRANTY CARD

This product is guaranteed by the warranty provided in the country of purchase, under the following conditions:

A - The MARKBASS warranty is only applicable if this document been properly completed (here or online) and if the original invoice/bill of sale, mentioning model, serial number and

purchase date, is presented together with this document.

B - The obligations of MARKBASS are limited to the repair of defects. Warranty repair eligibility will be decided at the sole discretion of MARKBASS or its representatives. Freight, freight

insurance costs, and any other costs related to the repair of this product are not covered by this warranty.

C - All warranty repairs must be made by MARKBASS or an authorized MARKBASS (PARSEK) service center.

D - This warranty does not apply in the following instances:

• if the damage was caused by accident, negligence or modications; use of non MARKBASS spare parts; or improper use, installation or packing;

• if the serial number on the equipment is illegible;

• if the damage was caused by lightning, water, re, incorrect main voltage, insucient ventilation or any other cause beyond the control of MARKBASS.

E - This warranty is not applicable to any speaker that has been subjected to power in excess of that for which it has been designed.

F - MARKBASS reserves the right to redesign or improve/modify its product at any time without any obligation to modify previously manufactured products.
