General information
This service manual contains information about how to
service MAC Axiom Hybrid.
Safety instructions
Before you carry out service work, read this document.
Installation and service work must comply with local
regulations and accepted codes of good practice.
Observe the safety instructions in the user manual for
the product.
Tools
Make sure that the tools below are available before you
start working on the product.
• Torx 8
• Torx 10
• Torx 20
• Single-slotted screwdriver, 1.6 x 10
• Single-slotted screwdriver, 1.0 x 6
• Cable ties
• 8-inch wrench
• Allen key 6
• Small plier
• Small plier, 90 degree
• Small cutter
• ESD wristband and mat.
Take the necessary precautions
to prevent static electricity from
damaging the product during
modication or repair.

Product information
If the head cover with the ballast is pointing towards
your right-hand side and the front lens is pointing away
from you, you have easy access to the prism train (1)
and the lamp fan (2).

If the head cover with the ballast is pointing towards
your left-hand side, you have easy access to the
gobos, the zoom and focus motors (3) as well as the
fans for lamp (4).

The side of the yoke cover with the ballast gives easy
access to replacement of ballast (8) and ballast wires
(9). See “Installing an upper retention arm” on page
34.

Troubleshooting
Overview of error codes
PAN and PAN LOCKED
Cause Remedy
The pan motor (1) is faulty. Replace the motor.
The pan encoder (2) is faulty. Replace the encoder PCBA.
The pan motor driver on the PCBA for pan-
tilt (3) is faulty.
Replace the driver PCBA and update the
software.
The wiring connection (4) between the pan
encoder and the PCBA for pan-tilt is faulty.
Replace the wire set.

Cause Remedy
The tilt motor (1) is faulty. Replace the motor.
The tilt encoder (2) is faulty. Replace the encoder PCBA.
The tilt motor driver on the PCBA (3) for
pan-tilt is faulty.
Replace the driver PCBA and update the
software.
The wiring connection (4) between the tilt
encoder and the PCBA for pan-tilt is faulty.
Replace the wire set.
The tilt function (5) is locked Unlock the tilt function 5

The PCBA for pan hall sensor (1) is faulty. Replace the hall sensor PCBA.
The wiring connection (2) between the
PCBA for the pan hall sensor and the
PCBA for pan-tilt is faulty
Replace the wire set.
TILT ZERO SENSOR LINE
Cause Remedy
The PCBA for tilt hall sensor (1) is faulty. Replace the hall sensor PCBA.
The wiring connection (2) between the
PCBA for the tilt hall sensor and the PCBA
for pan-tilt is faulty.
Replace the wire set.

Cause Remedy
The PCBA driver for pan-tilt (1) is faulty. Replace the driver PCBA and update the
software.
The master PCBA driver for motors is
faulty.
Replace the driver PCBA and update the
software.
No supply voltage available for master
PCBA for motors.
Make sure that 48V DC (2) is available.
If not check the fuses in the base. See
“Replacing the fuse” on page 52.
The wiring connection between the PCBA
for pan-tilt and the master PCBA for motors
is faulty.
Replace the wire set.
PAN-TILT PCBA
Cause Remedy
The PCBA driver for pan-tilt (1) is faulty. Replace the driver PCBA and update the
software.
Slave PCBA driver for motors is faulty. Replace the driver PCBA and update the
software.
No supply voltage available for slave
PCBA for motors.
Make sure that 48V DC (gure 16, 2) is
available. If not, check the fuse in the
base. See “Replacing the fuse” on page
52.
The wiring connection between the PCBA
for pan-tilt and the slave PCBA for motors
is faulty.
Replace the wire set.

Cause Remedy
The PCBA driver for fan (1) is faulty. Replace the driver PCBA and update the
software.
No supply voltage available for PCBA for
fans control.
Make sure that 48V DC (2) is available.
If not, check the fuse in the base. See
“Replacing the fuse” on page 52.
The wiring connection between the PCBA
for pan-tilt and the PCBA for fans control
is faulty.
Replace the wire set (3).
