General information
This service manual contains information about how to
service Atomic 3000 LED.
Safety instructions
Before you carry out service work, read this document.
Installation and service work must comply with local
regulations and accepted codes of good practice.
Observe the safety instructions in the user manual for
the product.
Tools
Make sure that the tools below are available before you
start working on the product:
• ESD mat and wristband.
• Torx T10 screwdriver.
• Torx T20 screwdriver.
• Torx T25 screwdriver.
• Small atheaded screwdriver.

Troubleshooting
Overview of error codes
Error message Symptom Cause Remedy
BANK (BANK NO ACCESS) • Error during or after software upload • Upload the software again.
• Power off and then power on the xture.
UITW (UI TEMP HIGH) • The PCB sensor for the user interface
(LCD display and control panel) detects
abnormally high operating temperature.
• Let the xture cool down and restart it.
• Replace main PCB if the issue continues.
PUTW (PSU TEMP HIGH) • The temperature sensor for the power
supply detects abonormally high operating
temperature.
• Check ambient temperature.
• Replace PSU if the issue continues.
SERV (SERVICE MODE) • A safety loop error occured. • Power off and then power on the xture.
SL W (SAFETY LOOP) • The safety loop circuit is activated. • Check the main LED thermal switch.
Replace it, if necessary.
BETW (BEAM TMP HIGH) • The temperature sensor for the beam
pixel PCB detects abnormally high operating
temperature.
• Make sure the area around the main LED
engine is clean.
• Replace the main LED assembly if the
issue continues.
SLER (SAFETY LOOP) • The safety loop circuit is activated. • Check safety loop circuit.
• Replace the main LED thernal switch, if
necessary
COLD (FIXTURE COLD) • The xture is too cold. • The xture will run normally at normal
ambient temperature.
FAN (BASE 1 FAN ERR) • Fan is not rotating. • Feedback from the sensor indicates that
the fan is not rotating.
• Make sure the fan is not blocked or
damaged.
• Replace the fan, if necessary
FAN (BASE 2 FAN ERR) • Fan is not rotating. • Feedback from the sensor indicates that
the fan is not moving.
• Make sure the fan is not blocked or
damaged.
• Replace the fan, if necessary
FAN (BASE 3 FAN ERR) • Fan is not rotating. • Feedback from the sensor indicates that
the fan is not moving.
• Make sure the fan is not blocked or
damaged.
• Replace the fan, if necessary
FAN (BASE 4 FAN ERR) • Fan is not rotating. • Feedback from the sensor indicates that
the fan is not rotating.
• Make sure the fan is not blocked or
damaged.
• Replace the fan, if necessary
UITE (UI TEMP SEN ERR) • Temperature sensor for the user interface
fails.
• The main PCB cannot register the
temperature sensor.
• Check all connections.
UITC (UI TEMP CUT OFF) • Temperature sensor for the user interface
is at cut-off level.
• Let the xture cool down and restart it.
• If the ambient temperature is OK but the
issue persists, replace the main PCB.
PUTE (PSU TEMP SEN ERR) • Temperature sensor for the power supply
fails.
• The main PCB cannot register the
temperature sensor.
• Check all connections.
PUTC (PSU TEMP CUT OFF) • Temperature sensor for the power supply
is at cut-off level.
• Let the xture cool down and restart it.
• If the ambient temperature is OK but the
issue persists, replace the PSU.
BETE (BEAM TMP SEN ERR) • Temperature sensor for the beam pixel
PCB fails.
• The main PCB cannot register the
temperature sensor.
• Check all connections.
BETC (BEAM TMP CUT OFF) • Temperature sensor for the beam pixel
PCB is at cut-off level.
• Let the xture cool down and restart it.
• If the ambient temperature is OK but
the issue persists, replace the main LED
assembly.

Repair and replacement
Replacing the front glass
1. Remove the eight Torx20 screws (1).
2. Replace the front glass.

3. Follow the procedure in reverse order.
NOTE! Make sure that the Atomic mark is pointing
towards the Atomic label.
Replacing the back light reector
assembly
1. Remove the front glass. See “Replacing the front
glass” on page 7.
2. Remove the two Torx20 screws (1) on each side.

4. Remove the connector for control (5) and power
(6).
5. Replace the main light engine assembly (7).

Replacing the PSU
1. Remove both back light reector assemblies. See
“Replacing the back light reector assembly” on
page 7.
2. Remove the main light engine assembly. See
“Replacing the main light engine assembly” on
page 9.
3. Remove the ve T20 screws (1) for the two PSU
PCB holders.

4. Remove the three connectors (2) for the main
PCB.
5. Remove the three mains wires (3).
6. Replace the PSU.
NOTE! Before you install the new PSU, note the
36 digit calibration number (4) on the new PSU.
7. Follow the procedure in reverse order.
8. Calibrate the PSU. See “Calibrating the PSU” on
page 15.

1. Remove both back light reector assemblies. See
“Replacing the back light reector assembly” on
page 7.
2. Remove the main light engine assembly. See
“Replacing the main light engine assembly” on
page 9.
3. Remove the two Torx10 screws (1).

4. Remove the nine connectors (2) from the
mainboard.

5. Remove the grounding wire (3).

6. Turn the xture.
7. Remove the two screws for the air lter (4).

8. Remove the three Torx20 screws (5) for the UI
front cover.
9. Remove the UI front cover (6).

10. Remove the ve Torx10 screws (7).
11. Replace the main PCB.
12. Follow the procedure in reverse order.
NOTE! Be careful when you install the UI front
cover. You need to slide it underneath the quarter-
turn brackets.

handle.

Calibrating the PSU
1. Make sure you have the calibration number. See
gure 17 on page 10.
2. Power up the product and let it boot up for ve
seconds.
NOTE! The DMX address will be displayed after a
successful boot up.

3. Press the menu button in the middle to enter the
menu.
4. Scroll down to SERVICE by pressing the DOWN
arrow.
5. Press and hold the MENU button and wait until
the ADVANCED SERVICE MENU is displayed.

6. Press the UP arrow and select PROCEED.
7. Scroll down to PSU CALIBRATION and press the
button in the middle.
8. Change each digit according to the digits in the
calibration code. See gure 14 on page 17.
9. Press the MENU button.
10. Use the UP/DOWN button to select the correct
value.
11. Press the MENU button to conrm the selection
12. Press the LEFT button to conrm your change.
13. Follow step 9 to 12 until you have changed all the
digits in the calibration code.
14. Exit the menu by continuously pressing the LEFT
button.

Maintenance
Read the user manual before performing service or
maintenance on the product.
Failure to respect service and maintenance schedules
may cause damage that is not covered by product
warranties.
Cleaning the product
Cleaning schedules for lighting xtures vary greatly
depending on the operating environment. It is therefore
impossible to specify precise cleaning intervals for the
xture. Environmental factors that may result in a need
for frequent cleaning include:
• Use of smoke or fog machines.
• High airow rates (near air conditioning vents, for
example).
• Presence of cigarette smoke.
• Airborne dust (from stage effects, building
structures and ttings or the natural environment
at outdoor events, for example).
If one or more of these factors is present, inspect
xtures within their rst 100 hours of operation to see
whether cleaning is necessary. Check again at frequent
intervals. This procedure will allow you to assess
cleaning requirements in your particular situation. If in
doubt, consult your Martin®by Harman dealer about a
suitable maintenance schedule.
Only clean on the outside.
Do not use concentrated alcohol solutions, abrasive
products or solvents to clean the lens. If wiping with
a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water
is not effective, dampen the cloth with distilled water
containing 20% isopropyl alcohol in solution.
Conditions
Procedures in the cells marked with red must be
carried out by certied Martin®by Harman technicians
only. Otherwise, you may cause damage to the product
that is not covered by your product warranty.
Ambient temperature:
Minimum: +5° C.
Maximum: +40° C (104° F).
Daily “lamp on” hours: 12 hours.
Voltage and frequency: 100-240 V, 50/60 Hz.
