MDA8 MATRIX SWITCH and
INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER
DRIVER FOR CONTROL4
Overview

The MDA8 has full matrix switching capabilty, can be bridged to 120W, can be set up to utilise a
second zone to power an in-ceiling or in-wall subwoofer, room correction, web based setup and
dedicated subwoofer outputs for each zone.
The MDA8 driver for Control4 provides the following functionality;
•IP & RS232 control (115200 baud no flow control)
•Individual zone commands for the following
•Volume Up/Down/Set
•Mute On/Off/Toggle
•Switch Inputs and Zones
•Set Bass
•Set Treble
•Volume
•Power on volume
•Max volume
•Individual zone feedback for the following
•Volume
•Mute
•Power
•Input
•Bass
•Treble
Requirements
This driver requires OS version 2.10.0 as minimum.
Quick Start Guide
1. Please make sure that MDA8 is on firmware 0.1.8143 or above. If not please download
the firmware from the MartinLogan website and update.
2. Install driver

3. Either connect RS232 binding or enter in IP address
•The driver will remove the IP Address and IP Port fields from the Properties tab if you
have have a binding on the serial port
•If you use RS232 make sure the MartinLogan MDA is set to 115200 baud + no flow
control).
4. Bind AV inputs
5. Set Audio Endpoints
6. Refresh Navigator.
Usage Guide
•This driver can switch any of the inputs to any of the 4 zones via the Control4 Navigator.
•This driver allows you to set volume, power on volume and max volume of each zone
independantly via the Properties tab.
•You can turn zones on and off, switch inputs, adjust and set volume, bass treble and
mute values
•Feedback is instantaneous. This means you can program against events like Power
On, Power Off, Input Switching, Surround Modes, Mute and more.
•Physically interacting with the MDA8 will fire these events and programming (eg turn off
all AV devices in the room when the MDA16 is powered off).
