Safety Information

Important: Refrigerants must be handled and disposed of by qualified service personnel only.
Before discarding this water dispenser to landfill, contact local authorities for advice on proper
disposal methods for refrigerants.
Note: Your Master Chef™ water dispenser is designed with a special safety feature (low water level
sensor) that controls activation/operation of the hot water tank heating system. If no water is present
and/or low water levels are detected inside the internal water reservoir, activation/operation of the hot
water heating system is not possible. Likewise, if the hot water heating system is operational and water is
being drawn simultaneously causing internal water levels to drop below the established minimal level set
point, hot water tank operation is automatically suspended. To reactivate the hot water heating system,
you only need to replenish the water supply and heating will resume automatically. Operation of the cold
water system is not aected by this safety feature.

Pre-Operation
1. Never turn the dispenser upside down or tilt more than 45 degrees. If the unit has been resting on its side for a long
period of time, place the water dispenser in the upright position for approximately 12 hours before turning it on.
2. For use with 3, 4 or 5 gallon (12, 15 or 19 litre) round type water bottles.
3. Never use this dispenser with water that is unsafe to drink or is from an unknown source.
4. Never use any other liquid in the dispenser other than known and microbiologically safe bottled water.
5. This water dispenser is equipped with a grounded power cord plug for your safety.
6. Keep your water dispenser in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
7. Leave a minimum of 2” (5 cm) around the back and sides of the dispenser for proper ventilation.
8. Always install your water dispenser on a level floor. Wait 3 minutes before restarting machine after shutting it down.
9. Always unplug the water dispenser before servicing.
10. Regular cleaning of your water dispenser is required for your warranty. Please follow the cleaning instructions outlined
in this manual and clean the dispenser every 4 months.
11. The lower front panel must always be installed/positioned on the unit for proper operation.

GROUNDING PRECAUTIONS
ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS:
A 120 Volt 60 Hz., 15 Amp grounded electrical
circuit is required. It is recommended that a
separate circuit serving only your Water Dispenser
be provided. Use an outlet that cannot be turned
o by a switch.

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS:
• Warning: This appliance must be grounded. In the event
of an electrical short circuit, grounding reduces the risk
of electric shock by providing an escape wire for electric
current.
• Warning: Improper use of the grounding plug can result
in a risk of property damage, electric shock causing
serious injury, even death.
• Warning: This appliance is equipped with a power
cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug and
must be connected into a properly grounded polarized
outlet. Consult a qualified electrician if the grounding
instructions are not completely understood, or if doubt

Operation
3. DISPENSING HOT WATER
Important: Your Master Chef™ water dispenser is designed with a special safety feature (low water level sensor)
that controls activation/operation of the hot water tank heating system. If no water is present and/or low water
levels are detected inside the internal water reservoir, activation/operation of the hot water heating system is
not possible. Likewise, if the hot water heating system is operational and water is being drawn simultaneously
causing internal water levels to drop below the established minimum level set point, hot water tank operation is
automatically suspended. To reactivate the hot water heating system, you only need to replenish the water supply
and heating will resume automatically. Operation of the cold water system is not aected by this safety feature.
2. ADJUSTING THE TEMPERATURE (COLD WATER ONLY)
NOTICE: This water dispenser left the factory with the cold water temperature control factory “default
setting” positioned for “Energy Star” compliance (identified in diagram at right). This setting will deliver
cold water temperatures between 4–8°C (39–46°F). The cold water temperature can be adjusted,
(using a flat screwdriver) by rotating the adjustment screw clockwise or counter-clockwise between
“Min” (cool) and “Max” (colder) until the desired temperature is reached.

Going Away On Vacation
When not using the dispenser for long periods of time or when going on vacation, to conserve energy, unplug the
dispenser and drain the reservoirs (see Draining the Reservoirs). Follow Initial Product Cleaning Procedures upon
return and startup of the dispenser.

Troubleshooting
Problem Possible Cause Suggested Solution
Water dispenser
is leaking
Drain cap and silicone seal are not secure. Ensure seal is secure in drain plug and tighten
drain cap.
Water is not hot or cold
enough
All the water in the tank has been used. Replace with full bottle and wait for water to
cool and heat.
Adjust the cold water temperature control to a
colder setting.
The unit is unplugged. Plug it into the outlet.
Hot water power switch located at the back of
the unit is not activated.
Activate red “on/o” switch.
The circuit breaker in your home is tripped or
the fuse has blown.
Reset the breaker or replace the fuse.
Temperature limit tripped. Allow the temperature of the hot water tank
to cool for approximately 15-30 minutes.
The temperature limit switch will re-set
automatically.
Lower front panel is not installed. The lower front panel must always be installed/
positioned on the unit for proper operation.
Cold water control needs to be adjusted. Adjust control between Min. (cool) and Max.
(colder) levels to achieve desired temperature.
Water dispenser is not
dispensing water
Empty water bottle. Replace with full bottle.
Mineral deposits clogging tanks. See Cleaning the Reservoirs.
Possible air pocket. Push down the dispenser buttons to prime the
unit.
Child safety lock (hot water) not activated. Activate child safety lock.
Water dispenser is noisy Water pump makes noise as it fills the tank. This is normal.
Water dispenser is uneven. Make sure the dispenser is on an even surface
that can support its full weight.

1-Year Limited Warranty
This product carries a one (1) year warranty against defects in workmanship and materials.
Trileaf Distribution agrees to replace the defective product free of charge within the stated
warranty period, when returned by the original purchaser with proof of purchase. This product is
not guaranteed against wear, misuse and/or abuse.
This warranty and the CSA International listing for this water dispenser are void if the water
dispenser is altered, modified, or combined with any other machine or device. Alteration of this
water dispenser may cause serious flooding and/or hazardous electrical shock or fire.
The provisions of this warranty shall not apply to:
• Water bottles
• Service trips to your home to teach you how to use the product
• Improper installation, delivery, or maintenance (Failure to maintain the product according
to the instructions outlined in the product manual will automatically void the warranty.)
• Failure of the product due to abuse, misuse, alteration, commercial use, or any use for
which the product was not intended
• Products that are used outside a residential or oce environment
• Replacement of house fuses or resetting of circuit breakers
• Use of this product where water is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality
• Damage to the product if used to dispense anything other than water
• Damage to the product caused by accident, fire, floods, or acts of God
• Any service to the product by unauthorized personnel
• Incidental or consequential damage caused by possible defects with this appliance, its
installation or repair

Remarque : Le distributeur d’eau Master Chef
MC
est doté d’un dispositif de sécurité (capteur de niveau d’eau bas) qui
contrôle l’activation/le fonctionnement du système de chauage du réservoir d’eau chaude. Si aucune eau n’est présente
et/ou que des niveaux d’eau faibles sont détectés à l’intérieur du réservoir d’eau interne, il est impossible d’activer le
réservoir d’eau chaude du système de chauage. De même, si le système de chauage pour la production d’eau chaude
est fonctionnel et que l’eau est aspirée, causant simultanément les niveaux d’eau internes de chuter au-dessous du
niveau minimal du point de réglage établi, le fonctionnement du réservoir d’eau chaude est automatiquement mis en
suspens. Pour réactiver le système de chauage d’eau chaude, vous avez seulement besoin de remplir le réservoir d’eau
et le chauage reprendra automatiquement. Le système d’eau froide n’est pas aecté par ce dispositif de sécurité.

Consignes de sécurité
Pré-fonctionnement
1. Ne retournez jamais le distributeur d’eau et ne l’inclinez pas à plus de 45 degrés. Si l’appareil est resté sur le côté
pendant un long moment, placez le distributeur d’eau à la verticale pendant 12 heures environ avant de le brancher.
2. S’utilise avec des bouteilles d’eau rondes de 3, 4 ou 5 gallons (12, 15 ou 19 litres).
3. N’employez jamais ce distributeur avec une eau qui n’est peut-être pas potable ou qui provient d’une source inconnue.
4. N’employez jamais dans le distributeur d’autres liquides que de l’eau en bouteille connue et microbiologiquement sûre.
5. Ce distributeur d’eau a une prise d’alimentation électrique avec mise à la terre pour assurer votre sécurité.
6. Conservez votre distributeur d’eau à un endroit sec et non exposé aux rayons solaires directs.
7. Laissez au moins 2 po (5 centimètres) derrière le distributeur et sur les côtés pour avoir une ventilation appropriée.
8. Installez toujours le distributeur d’eau sur une surface au niveau qui peut soutenir tout son poids. Si jamais le
distributeur est éteint, attendez trois (3) minutes avant de le remettre en marche.
9. Débranchez toujours le distributeur d’eau avant d’en faire l’entretien.
10. Un nettoyage régulier de votre distributeur d’eau est nécessaire pour que la garantie soit applicable. Veuillez suivre les
instructions de nettoyage de ce manuel et nettoyer le distributeur tous les 4 mois.
11. Le panneau avant inférieur doit toujours être installé ou positionné sur l’appareil pour bien fonctionner.

V/60 Hz, 15 ampères seulement, avec fusible est
nécessaire. Il est recommandé de prévoir un circuit
distinct pour alimenter uniquement votre distributeur
d’eau. Utilisez une prise qui ne peut pas être
