Operation Setting2-1
The product has three communication interfaces: USB, RS-232C, and GPIB communications.
As multiple communications are not allowed to be simultaneously connected, the types of communications and
other settings must be configured.
Note
For details about the main unit setting, refer to DOKF series Instruction Manual [3-14 Communication Settings].
1. USB communication
This product uses a USB serial converter made by FTDI, and the baud rate setting is required.
The baud rate is selected from 9600 bps, 19200 bps, 38400 bps.
The factory default setting is 9600 bps. The setting is also common to RS-232C.
It corresponds to Matsusada Original Command as well as SCPI command.
The USB delimiter is CR (fixed).
2. RS-232C communication
The baud rate setting is required.
The baud rate is selected from 9600 bps, 19200 bps, 38400 bps.
It corresponds to Matsusada Original Command as well as SCPI command.
The RS-232C delimiter is CR (fixed).
3. GPIB communication
The GPIB address and terminator (delimiter) settings are required.
For setting, the GPIB address is selected from 0 to 30, and the terminator is selected from EOI/LF/CR..
It corresponds to Matsusada Original Command.
After the communication setting, be sure to turn off the power of the product and then, turn it on again to
restart. Changing the setting will be available after restarting it.
If you change the communication setting, be sure to turn off the power of the
product and then, turn it on again to restart. If not, the communication system may
not work properly.
Concerning the three communication interfaces of USB, RS-232C, and GPIB, be
sure to unplug unused communication cables. Otherwise, it could result in
malfunction.

Display of Remote Control via Communication2-2
With the product remote controlled, the LCD present status <LOC> is changed to <REN>.
To change from local control to remote control (on the front panel), issue the “REN” command.
In the meantime, as it is changed from local control to remote control, all the setting values will be
initialized. (CV mode, voltage 0 V, Frequency 1 kHz, etc.)
The remote control setting values are not stored in memory.
However, when the unit is returned to the local control from the remote control, the setting values stored
in memory will be recalled.
<LOC> indicates local controlled.
<REN> indicates remote controlled.

Default Value for Remote Control2-3 As it is changed from local control to remote control with communication, all the settings are reset
to the default value. When changing, the setting values in local control which are stored in
memory will not be used in remote control. In remote control via communication, transfer the
commands to configure settings.
The local control settings are saved in memory, but the remote control settings are not saved.

DOKF series
Checking USB Operation (DC Voltage Output with Original Command of3-1 Matsusada Precision)
This section describes how to check the operation of the product using USB communication after the main
unit settings are completed.
The baud rate setting of USB is required.
Voltage is actually output in checking operation.
Do not connect any load to the product before the following procedure is
completed.
(1) Connect USB cable
Connect the USB cable to a controller (e.g. computer) and the USB connector of the product.
(2) Turn on the power
Turn on the Power ON/OFF switch. (Wait a few seconds for the product startup to complete, or wait until you
get a response from the STS command.)
(3) Enable remote control
Send a command of “REN” from the controller (computer). Then, <REN> will appear on display, and the unit
goes into remote control state.
(4) Output 0 V in CV mode
Send “CV” and “SW1” from the controller (computer).
Then, the voltage 0V is output in CV mode, and “OUTPUT LED” is lit.
(5) Set voltage to output
Send “DCVSET xxxx” from the controller (computer). Enter the value in xxxx within the parameter range. The
DC voltage value set in xxxx will be output.
(6) Stop the output
Send a command of “SW0” from the controller(computer). OUTPUT LED will turn off.
(7) Enable local control
Send a command of “GTL” from the controller (computer). <LOC> appears on display, and the unit goes
into local control state.
(8) Ending the operation
Turn off the POWER ON/OFF switch of the main unit.

Command Syntax4-1
Setting the output voltage of the unit to rated maximum voltage is as follows.
Example: Model at rated voltage 60V
In optical communication, use a space between the command and parameter.
(Communication is possible without a space.)
(1) Input delimiter CR (0DH) for USB and RS-232C, or input EOI/LF/CR for GPIB.
(2) Some commands require a parameter. The parameter values vary depending on the models. (Refer to
“List: Minimum value settings / Return values”.)
(3) Wrong commands are to be ignored.
REN, GTL Commands and Unit Setting4-2There are different settings of Remote control and Local control.
When the product receives “REN” command changing Local control to Remote control, the settings are all
the default value of Remote control (See the list below). And they are not saved in memory.

When the product receives GTL command changing Remote control to Local control, the settings are all the
default value of Local control. Each set value of Local control is stored in memory with the previous Local
control state.
