IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances,
especially when children are present,
basic safety precautions should
always be followed including the
following:
•READ AND SAVE ALL
INSTRUCTIONS.
•Do not touch hot surfaces. Use
handles or knobs.
•To protect against electrical
shock NEVER immerse the entire
toaster or the electrical cord in
water or any other liquid.
•Close supervision is necessary
when any appliance is used by or
near children.
•Unplug from outlet when not in
use and before cleaning. Allow to
cool before putting on or taking
off parts and before cleaning.
•Do not operate any appliance
with a damaged cord or plug or
after the appliance malfunctions
or has been damaged in any
manner. Return appliance to the
nearest authorized service
facility for examination, repair,
or adjustment.
•The use of accessory
attachments is not
recommended by the appliance
manufacturer and may cause
injuries to the user.
•Do not use outdoors.
•Do not let cord hang over edge
of table or counter, or touch hot
surfaces.
•Do not place on or near a hot gas
or electric burner, or in a heated
oven.
•Always attach plug to appliance
first, then plug cord into the wall
outlet. To disconnect, turn any
control to “off”, then remove
plug from wall outlet.
•Do not use appliance for other
than intended use.
•Oversize foods, metal foil
packages or utensils must not be
inserted in a toaster as they may
create a risk of fire or electric
shock.
•A fire may occur if toaster slots
are covered by or touching
flammable material, including
curtains, draperies, walls, and the
like, when in operation.
•Do not attempt to dislodge food
when toaster is plugged in. Do
not attempt to dislodge food
with metal utensils while the
toaster is operating and/or
plugged into the electrical
outlet. Doing so will lead to
serious personal injury.
•When the appliance is plugged
into the electrical outlet, and
moreover, while it is turned on,
never place hands, utensils, or
any other object into the bread
toasting slots.
•Do not attempt to plug the
appliance into the electrical
outlet with wet or damp hands.
•Unplug the appliance from the
electrical outlet when it is not in
use.
•Do not unplug the appliance
from the outlet by pulling on the
cord.
•Do not leave this appliance
unattended while in use.
•If the appliance begins to
malfunction, stop using
immediately. Do not attempt to
repair the appliance. Contact
customer service or another
authorized agent.

SHORT CORD PURPOSE
NOTE: A short power cord is
provided to reduce the risk of
personal injury resulting from
becoming entangled in or
tripping over a longer cord.
Longer power-supply cords or
extension cords are available and
may be used if care is exercised in
their use.
If an extension cord is used: (1)
the marked electrical rating of
the extension cord should be at
least as great as the electrical
rating of the product; (2) the
extension cord should be
arranged so that it will not drape
over the countertop or tabletop
where it can unintentionally be
pulled on or tripped over by
children or pets.
POLARIZED PLUG
If this appliance is equipped with
a
polarized plug (one blade is
wider than the other), please
follow the below instructions:
To reduce the risk of electrical
shock, this plug is intended to fit
into a polarized outlet only one
way. If you are unable to fit the
plug into the electrical outlet, try
reversing the plug. If the plug
still does not fit, contact a
qualified electrician. Never use
the plug with an extension cord
unless the plug can be fully
inserted into the extension cord.
Do not alter the plug of the
product or any extension cord
being used with this product. Do
not attempt to defeat the safety
purpose of the polarized plug.
BEFORE FIRST USE
•Carefully unpack the product
and remove all packaging
materials. Clean the toaster
thoroughly before using for
the first time. This serves to
remove any dust that may
have accumulated during
packaging. Do not use
abrasive cleansers when
cleaning. Do not immerse the
toaster or electrical cord in
water or any other liquid.
(See the “HOW TO CLEAN”
section for further
instructions.)
•During the first few uses you
may notice smoke and/or a
slight odor. This is normal and
should disappear with
subsequent use.

PARTS & FEATURES
A. Crumb Trays (Underneath):
Removes easily to clean
crumbs from bottom of
toaster and makes overall
cleaning easier. Found on the
bottom of the toaster on the
opposite side of the Toasting
Control Knob.
B. Dual Control Panels
Two sets of controls toast
breads on different settings.
Use controls and pop-up
lever on the left for slots 1 &
2 and controls and pop-up
lever on the right for slots 3
& 4.
C. Cancel Button: Interrupts
toasting process when
pressed.
D. Reheat Button: To warm
bread that has already been
toasted.
E. Defrost Button: Defrost and
toast frozen bread, waffles,
pancakes, etc...
F. Bagel Button: Only the
toaster’s inner (center)
heating coils are active.
G. Toasting Control Knobs (1-6):
Six different toasting shades

HOW TO USE
•Before toasting, make sure
that both Crumb Trays are in
place and that the Pop-up
Levers are in the up position.
Check that the crumb tray is
in place and that there is
nothing in the toaster slot.
Plug power cord into the wall
outlet.
•Set the toaster on a flat,
stable, heat resistant surface
away from any edge and well
away from any wall, curtain,
or cabinet.
•When finished toasting,
unplug the toaster from
electrical outlet.
•USE EXTREME CAUTION
WHEN REMOVING YOUR
ITEMS FROM THE TOASTER!
•Whenever a preset function
button is set, the
corresponding indicator light
will illuminate.
•CANCEL button may be used
at any time to interrupt the
toasting cycle.
BROWNING CONTROL GUIDE
SETTING TOAST
SHADE
1-2 LIGHT

TOASTING:
1. Insert the items into the
toast slots.
2. Be sure that multiple slices do
not overlap and the lever is in
the up position.
3. Select your desired toast
shade by setting the
browning control.
4. Push down the Pop-up Lever,
locking it into position.
5. When finished, the items will
pop up from the toaster.
6. Unplug the toaster when
done.
*Note: Use controls and lever on
the left to toast items in slots 1 &
2. Use controls and lever on the
right to toast items in slots 3 & 4.
BAGEL SETTING: Use to toast a
wide variety of different bagels
and is for single side toasting:
only the center (inner) heating
elements will function.
1. Insert bagels into the
toasting slots.
NOTE: Slice each bagel into
two halves and place each
half into one toast slot. DO
NOT INSERT A WHOLE BAGEL
INTO ONE TOAST SLOT.
2. Select your desired toast
shade by setting the
browning control.
3. Push down the Pop-up Lever,
locking the bagel into
position.
4. Press the “BAGEL”button.
5. When finished, the bagel will
pop up from the toaster.
6. Unplug the toaster when
done.
REHEAT SETTING: Can reheat
bread, waffles, bagels, etc…
without toasting the items.
1. Insert items into the toasting
slots.
2. Select your desired toast
shade by setting the
browning control.

Notes on Specialty Uses: The
following breads and pastries
should be warmed using the
"Defrost" button:
Frozen Waffles, Pancakes, French
Toast and Frozen Bagels
Toaster pastries: Exercise caution
with toaster pastries; the filling
can become quite hot, long
before the surface of the pastry
becomes browned. Never leave
toaster pastries unattended while
toasting or warming.
DEFROST SETTING: Uses a slightly
longer toasting cycle to prepare
your favorite frozen pastries.
1. Insert the frozen items into
the toast slots.
2. Select your desired toast
shade by setting the
browning control.
NOTE: This setting already
uses a slightly longer cycle
for defrosting.
3. Push down the Pop-up Lever,
locking items into position.
4. Press the “DEFROST”button.
5. When finished, the items will
pop up from the toaster.
6. Unplug the toaster when
done.
Tips:
•Never force foods into the toasting slot. Foods should fit freely
between the guide wires.
•Uneven toasting is usually due to bread slices of uneven
thickness.
CAUTION: The wide toast slots help to accommodate a variety of different
bread widths, as well as muffins, tea cakes, crumpets and bagels. However,
you should not force items into the slots which are clearly too large. If an
item does become jammed, switch toaster off and unplug from outlet
immediately. Once cooled, turn toaster upside down and gently shake to
remove whatever is stuck. Do not insert sharp or metal objects such as
knives or forks, as this may damage the heating element. Do not attempt to
dislodge items while the toaster is operation or when it is plugged into an
electrical outlet, doing so will lead to serious personal injury.

NOTES
•Toasting is a combination of
cooking and drying the
bread. Different types of
bread have different
moisture levels, which can
result in varying toasting
times.
•For slightly dry bread, use a
lower setting than you
normally would.
•For very fresh bread or whole
wheat bread, use a higher
setting than normal.
•Thickly cut pieces of bread
(including bagels) will take
longer to toast, sometimes
significantly longer, since
more moisture must be
evaporated from the bread
before toasting can occur.
Very thick pieces may require
two cycles.
•When toasting raisin or other
fruit breads, remove any
loose raisins, etc. from the
surface of the bread before
placing into the toaster. This
will help prevent fruit pieces
from falling into the toaster
or sticking on the guide wires
in the slot. Before toasting
bagels, slice each bagel into
two equal halves.
•The toaster is designed to
heat the whole toasting
chamber for two slices, so it
is preferred to operate the
toaster with two slices.
•Exercise caution when
toasting pastries. The filling
can become quite hot long
before the surface of the
pastry toasts fully.
•When the cycle is complete
the bread carriage will raise
the toast up. To terminate
the toasting cycle before it is
completed, simply press
down the cancel button.
HOW TO CLEAN
•DO NOT use any abrasive
soaps, detergents, or
cleaning materials to clean
this appliance.
•NEVER IMMERSE THE ENTIRE
TOASTER OR ELECTRICAL
CORD IN WATER OR ANY
OTHER LIQUID.
•DO NOT use any sharp,
pointed, or metal objects for
cleaning the inside of the
toaster—particularly when
the toaster is plugged into an
electrical outlet and/or when
it is operating—as this will
damage the heating elements
and lead to serious personal
injury.
•Keep the toaster unplugged
from the outlet when it is not
in use.
•Always shut the toaster off,
unplug from the electrical
outlet and wait for it to cool
completely before cleaning.
•DO NOT CLEAN THE
TOASTER WHILE IT IS
PLUGGED INTO THE
ELECTRICAL OUTLET!
1. Simply wipe the exterior of
the toaster with a clean,

damp, soapy cloth. NOTE:
Do not apply any cleaning
agent directly onto the
toaster.
2. To remove any pieces of
bread stuck inside the toaster,
turn the toaster upside down
and shake gently. Never insert
any hard or sharp instrument
into the slots as this could
damage the toaster and cause
a safety hazard.
3. Dry all parts thoroughly
before re-assembling for
storage or for use.
4. Never wrap the cord around
the sides of the toaster. Wrap
the cord around the storage
cleats found beneath the
toaster.
Crumb trays
The crumb trays should be emptied regularly as a build-up of crumbs could
be a potential fire hazard. First, make sure the toaster is completely shut-
off, unplug it from the electrical outlet, and allow it to cool down thoroughly.
The crumb trays are located on the bottom of the side opposite of the
control panel. Slide out the crumb trays, throw crumbs into the trash can,
and wipe the crumb trays clean. Always make sure the crumb trays are
completely dry before re-inserting them into the toaster.

LIMITED WARRANTY* ONE (1) YEAR
WARRANTY IS ONLY VALID WITH A DATED PROOF OF PURCHASE
1. Your small kitchen appliance is built with precision, inspected and tested before leaving
our factory.
2. It is warranted, to the original purchaser to be free from any manufacturing defects
under normal use and conditions for one (1) year, cord excluded. This Warranty applies
only to the original purchaser of this product.
3. If you need to exchange the unit, please return it in its original carton, with a sales
receipt, to the store where you purchased it. If you are past the store's allowed return policy
period, please see the enclosed Warranty.
4. If you use your appliance for household use and according to instructions, it should give
you years of satisfactory service.
5. During the one-year warranty period, a product with a defect will be either repaired or
replaced with a new or reconditioned comparable model (at our option) when the product is
returned to our Service Center. (See the “Returns” section below).
6. The repaired or replacement product will be in warranty for the remaining balance of the
one-year warranty period and an additional one-month period.
7. This limited warranty covers appliances purchased and used within the 50
contiguous states plus the District of Columbia and does NOT cover:
- Damages caused by unreasonable use, neglect, normal wear and tear, commercial use,
improper assembly or installation of product.
- Damages caused in shipping.
- Damages caused by replacement or resetting of house fuses or circuit breakers.
- Defects other than manufacturing defects.
- Breakage caused by misuse, abuse, accident, alteration, lack of proper care and
maintenance, or incorrect current or voltage.
- Lost or missing parts of the product. Parts will need to be purchased separately.
- Damages of parts that are not electrical; for example: cracked or broken plastic or glass.
- Damage from service or repair by unauthorized personnel.
- Extended warranties purchased via a separate company or reseller.
- Consumer’s remorse is not an acceptable reason to return a product to our Service
Center.
*One Year Limited Warranty valid only in the 50 contiguous states plus the District of
Columbia, excluding Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
This warranty is effective only if the product is purchased and operated in the USA; product
usage which is in violation of the written instructions provided with the unit will void this
warranty.

RETURN INSTRUCTIONS
RETURNS:
A. Any return of defective merchandise to the manufacturer must be processed
accordingly by first contacting customer service (contact information shown below) to
obtain an RA # (Return Authorization Number). We will not accept any returns of
merchandise without an applicable RA #.
B. IMPORTANT RETURN INSTRUCTIONS. Your Warranty depends on your following
these instructions if you are returning the unit to Maxi-Matic USA:
1. Carefully pack the item in its original carton or other suitable box to avoid
damage in shipping.
2. Before packing your unit for return, be sure to enclose:
a) Your name, full address with zip code, daytime telephone number,
and RA#,
b) A dated sales receipt or PROOF OF PURCHASE,
c) The model number of the unit and the problem you are having
(Enclose in an envelope and tape directly to the unit before the
box is sealed,) and
d) Any parts or accessories related to the problem.
3. Maxi-Matic USA recommends you ship the package U.P.S ground service for
tracking purposes. We cannot assume responsibility for lost or damaged
products returned to us during incoming shipment. For your protection, always
carefully package the product for shipment and insure it with the carrier. C.O.D
shipments cannot be accepted.
4. All return shipping charges must be prepaid by you.

6. Once your return has been received by our warehouse, Maxi-Matic USA will
repair or replace the product if it is defective in material or workmanship, subject

replacement product back to you.

USO DE UN CORDÓN CORTO
1) Para reducir el riesgo de daños
personales, como un tropezón
o enredarse con el cordón
eléctrico, un cordón eléctrico

2) Una extensión eléctrica más
larga podrá ser utilizada,
siempre y cuando tome
extremas precauciones

3) Si una extensión eléctrica
más larga va a ser utilizada,
tenga muy en cuenta las

•Las especificaciones
eléctricas especialmente
el (amperaje) del cordón
eléctrico a utilizar deberá
de ser igual o de más
amperaje que el
especificado en el aparato
a utilizar.
•La extensión eléctrica

cuelgue de la mesa,
donde una mascota, los
niños o cualquier otra
persona lo pueda jalar o
tropezar sobre ella,
accidentalmente.
ENCHUFE POLARIZADO
Si este aparato es suministrado con
un cordón eléctrico de enchufe
polarizado (un lado del enchufe es
más ancho que el otro) favor de
seguir las siguientes
recomendaciones.
Para reducir el riesgo de una
descarga eléctrica, este enchufe
está diseñado para entrar en el
receptáculo eléctrico de una sola
manera. Si el enchufe eléctrico no
entra completamente, de un giro al
mismo y trate de nuevo; si no entra

arriba.
•Coloque el tostador en una
superficie plana, lejos de
cualquier esquina de la mesa y
retirado de paredes, cortinas y
gabinetes.
•Después de usar desconecte el
tostador de pan del toma
corriente.
•Deje que las partes del tostador
enfríen completamente antes
limpiar.

BOTÓN PARA DESCONGELAR: Usa
un proceso para tostar más largo para
mejor descongelar sus panes favoritos.
1. Coloque el pan o artículo dentro de
los Espacios Para Tostar.
2. Seleccione el nivel de tostado con
el Control Para Tostar.
3. Empuje la Palanca Para Tostar
para abajo hasta que se trabe en el
tostador.
4. Apriete el “BOTÓN PARA
DESCONGELAR”.
5. Cuando haya terminado de tostar,
el pan o artículo surge del tostador.
6. Desenchufe del toma corriente
cuando haiga terminado de usar.
NOTA: Las ranuras del tostador le permitirán tostar una gran variedad de panes. Sin
embargo, no trate de forzar objetos dentro de estas o tratar de insertar artículos
claramente más grandes que las ranuras del tostador. Si un objeto se ha atorado dentro de
las ranuras apague la unidad, desconecte del tomacorriente inmediatamente. Espere que
enfríe completamente, voltee el tostador boca bajo y cuidadosamente remueva el objeto.
Nunca introduzca objetos filosos como navajas, que estos podrían dañar la bobina térmica.
NUNCA INTENTE DE REMOVER ARTICULOS CUANDO EL TOSTADOR ESTE EN
OPERACIÓN Y ENCHUFADO AL TOMACORRIENTE.
ADVERTENCIAS
•Rebanadas gruesas de pan
tomaran más tiempo para tostar.
•Tal vez haya rebanadas de pan
que requieran dos ciclos para
tostar.
•Cuando tueste rebanadas de pan
con pasas u otro tipo de fruta,
remueva toda fruta suelta de la
superficie del pan antes de
colocarlas en el tostador. Al hacer
esto, evitara que piezas de frutas
se adhieran al bobinado térmico o
caigan dentro del tostador.
•Antes de que tueste rosquillas de
pan, rebane cada rosquilla en dos
mitades iguales.
•Cuando tueste únicamente una
rebanada de pan, coloque el
control en la posición menos clara
que cuando tuesta normalmente.
El tostador está diseñado para
tostar dos rebanadas de pan.
Reduciendo la intensidad de calor
para tostar una rebanada de pan
evitara que se tosté de más.
•Tenga mucha precaución cuando
tueste pastelillos, el relleno podrá
calentarse mucho antes que la
superficie del mismo se torne
dorado.
•Cuando el ciclo de tostado se
haya completado el transportador
con el pan se levantara
automáticamente. Para cancelar
el ciclo de tostar antes de que
termine, simplemente presione el
botón de CANCEL.
•El modelo ECT-200X es para dos
rebanadas y el modelo ECT-400X
es para cuatro rebanadas de pan.
Presione únicamente la palanca
del transportador del panel de
control izquierdo o derecho si así
lo prefiere, Así solamente entrara
en funcionamiento la parte media
del tostador y será para dos
rebanadas de pan, si presiona las
dos palancas transportadoras
juntas de la unidad, será para
tostar cuatro rebanadas de pan.

LIMPIEZA Y MANTENIMIENTO
•NO utilice jabones,
detergentes, o materiales
abrasivos para limpiar el
tostador
•NUNCA SUMERJA EL
TOSTADOR ENTERO NI
EL CORDON ELECTRICO
EN AGUA O EN NINGUN
OTRO LIQUIDO.
•NO use ningún tipo de
objeto filoso o utensilios
de metal para limpiar
dentro del tostador. Al
hacerlo podría dañar los
elementos térmicos y
crear un riesgo al usar.
•Si algún objeto se atora,
apague la unidad y
desconecte del
tomacorriente
inmediatamente. Una vez
que se enfrié
completamente el
tostador, colóquelo boca
bajo, y sacuda levemente
para remover el objeto.
•Mantenga el tostador
desconectado del
tomacorriente cuando no
esté en uso.
•Primero, desconecte la unidad
del tomacorriente y permita
que se enfríe completamente
antes de limpiarlo.
•Use un trapo ligeramente
mojado y enjabonado para
limpiar la superficie exterior del
tostador.
•Seque todas las partes
completamente antes de usar
de nuevo o almacenar el
tostador.
•Nunca enrolle el cordón
eléctrico alrededor del
tostador. Use los ganchos del
lado inferior del tostador para
enrollar este.
ADVERTENCIA: Pedazos de pan acumulados dentro del tostador crean un
riesgo de incendio. Es recomendable que periódicamente se remuevan estos
residuos. Una bandeja para residuos ha sido incluida y está localizada en la
parte inferior del lado opuesto de los botones para tostar. Deslice la bandeja
para residuos, vacié los contenidos en un bote de basura y limpie la bandeja.
Siempre seque la charola complétateme antes de regresar a su lugar.
Después, regrese la charola en su posición hasta que se trabe con el tostador.

GARANTIA ES VALIDA CON UNA PRUEBA DE COMPRA FECHADA
1. Su aparato de cocina está construido con precisión, inspeccionados y probados antes
de salir de nuestra fábrica.
2. Se garantiza, al comprador original, de estar libres de defectos de fabricación en
condiciones de uso normales y las condiciones para un (1) año, cordones excluidos. Esta
garantía se aplica sólo al comprador original de este producto.
3. Si necesita cambiar la unidad, devuélvala en su caja original, con el recibo de compra, a
la tienda donde lo compró. Si usted está más allá del plazo concedido para el retorno por
la política de la tienda, por favor consulte la garantía incluida.
4. Si utiliza el aparato para uso doméstico y de acuerdo con las instrucciones, debería
ofrecerle años de servicio satisfactorio.
5. Durante el período de garantía de un año, un producto con un defecto será reparado o
reemplazado por un modelo nuevo o reacondicionado (a nuestro criterio) cuando el
producto sea devuelto a nuestro Centro de Servicio. (Consulte la sección "Devoluciones" a
continuación).
6. El producto reparado o reemplazado estará garantizado por el saldo restante del
período de garantía de un año y un plazo adicional de un mes.
7. Esta garantía limitada cubre los aparatos comprados y usados en los 50 estados

- Remordimiento del consumidor no es una razón aceptable para devolver un producto a
nuestro Centro de Servicio.

INSTRUCCIONES DE DEVOLUCIÓN
DEVOLUCIONES:
A. Cualquier devolución de mercancía defectuosa al fabricante deben ser procesados
apropiadamente contactando primero al servicio al cliente (información de contacto se
muestra a continuación) para obtener un # RA (Número de autorización de devolución). No
se aceptará ninguna devolución de mercancía sin un # RA aplicable.
B. INSTRUCCIONES IMPORTANTES DE RETORNO. Su garantía depende que usted
siga estas instrucciones si va a devolver la unidad a Maxi-Matic EE.UU.:
1. Empaque cuidadosamente el producto en su caja original o en otra caja
adecuada para evitar daños durante el envío.
2. Antes del envío de la devolución unidad, asegúrese de adjuntar:
a) Su nombre, dirección completa con código postal, número de
teléfono durante el día, y #RA
b) Un recibo de compra fechado o COMPROBANTE DE COMPRA,
c) El número de modelo de la unidad y el problema que tiene (Encierre
en un sobre y pegue directamente a la unidad antes de
sellar la caja) y
d) Todas las piezas o accesorios relacionados con el problema.
3. Maxi-Matic EE.UU. recomienda enviar el paquete de servicio terrestre de UPS
para fines de seguimiento. No podemos asumir la responsabilidad por productos
perdidos o dañados devueltos a nosotros durante el transporte entrante. Para su
protección, siempre cuidadosamente empaquetar el producto para su envío y
asegurarlo con la compañía. Envíos C.O.D no puede ser aceptado.
