INTRODUCTION
On behalf of MBC Marine, we would like to
thank you for purchasing the Smart Touch
Remote A/C controller.
The Smart Touch Remote is an electronic unit
and accompanying web application for the
MBC Marine line of air conditioners. With this
controller every function of the A/C can be
accessed remotely. You can also check for
problems, monitor battery voltages, check the
position of the boat, and receive anchor drift
alerts.

DISPLAY – RJ45 (“Ethernet”) socket connects to
the touchscreen.
UNIT – RJ45 socket connects to the main board
of the A/C unit
BATTERY – screw terminal (2+3 pins) for external
power supply, and to measure the battery voltages:
• GND–connected to the negative (ground)
rail, connection is optional.
• +A – positive terminal of the battery powering
the Smart Touch unit (usually the service/
house bank), connection is optional.
• +B, +C, +D – positive terminals of other
batteries to be monitored, connection is
optional.
RST –to erase memory and factory-reset the
device.
PWR –if the device is powered from an external
source (BATTERY screw terminal GND and A+
pins) this jumper must be closed.
GPS – internal antenna connector of the GPS
module
GSM –internal antenna connector of the
GSM-module. Should you ever need to open
the device, please make sure that the antennas
remain securely connected.
SIM card – to access the device via cellular
network you need to insert a SIM card (with data
plan) into the card holder at the bottom of the
circuit board.

QUICK START GUIDE – Wi-Fi Network
If your boat has a Wi-Fi network connected
to the internet, follow the steps below. (The
complete installation guide and owner’s manual
is available at www.mbc-marine.com.)
1. Register a user account at the remote.
mbc-marine.com portal.
2. Connect the DISPLAY socket to the
touchscreen and theUNITsocket to the
main electric board of the A/C unit. Power
up the A/C – the touchscreen should turn
on with a beep.
3. Connect to the Wi-Fi
network “SmartTouchXX”
using your mobile phone
or laptop. The XX ending
of the network name
refers to the last two letters
of the unique ID of the
device (refer to the sticker
on the unit – see picture 1). Type “smarttouch.
local” into the browser’s address bar (or
scan the QR code on the right). Now you
should see the home screen of the remote
controller.
4. Click “DETAILS” at the bottom, then
“SETTINGS” and then “WIFI/GSM SETTINGS”.
Now you should see the WIFI/GSM SETTINGS
screen in picture a1. Enter the Wi-Fi SSID
and PASSWORD (1: name and 2: password
of the Wi-Fi network). Set the “PORTAL” (3)
and “LOCAL” (4) menus to “WIFI”. Click on
the „APPLY” (5) button.
5. DISCONNECT from the SmartTouchXX
Wi-Fi and connect to the “regular” internet
on your mobile phone or computer. If the
settings are correct, green, and yellow
connector lights will both turn ON.
6. Open the remote.mbc-marine.com portal
and log in to your account created in step
1. As it will be your rst SmartTouchRemote
device, you will land on the page to add
a new device (picture a2).
7. Click on the “ADDNEW”(1) button and enter
the unique ID of the device. If all the above
steps worked, the remote controller will be
connected to your account and immediately
ready for use. From now on you can access it
using the remote.mbc-marine.com portal.

QUICK START GUIDE – GSM (Cellular)
Network
1. If you have a SIM card with data subscription,
follow the steps below. (The complete
installation guide and owner’s manual is
available at www.mbc-marine.com.)
1. Register a user account at the remote.

2. Turn o the PIN code of the SIM card and
insert it into the holder at the bottom of the
unit (picture 2).
3. Connect the DISPLAY socket to the
touchscreen and the UNIT socket to the
main electric board of the A/C unit. Power
up the A/C – the touchscreen should turn
on with a beep.
4. Connect to the Wi-Fi
network “SmartTouchXX”
using your mobile phone
or laptop. The XX ending
of the network name
refers to the last two
letters of the unique ID
of the device (refer to the
sticker on the unit – see picture 1). Type
“smarttouch.local” into the browser’s address
bar (or scan the QR code on the right).
Now you should see the home screen of
the remote controller.
5. Click on “DETAILS” at the bottom, then
“SETTINGS” and then “WIFI/GSM SETTINGS”.
Click on the “GSM: SETTINGS” button, which
gives you the screen shown in picture a3.
Switch “GSM ENABLE” (1) to “ON”. Ask your
service provider for specic value of the
GSM APN eld!
6. Click „BACK” (2). You will see the Wi-Fi/GSM
settings screen (picture a4). Set “PORTAL”
(1) to “GSM”, and “LOCAL” (2) to “AP”.
Click “APPLY” (3). If the settings are correct,
the yellow indicator light will blink (local
connection works in AP mode) and green
light will blink slowly (remote connection
works using GSM network).
7. Open the remote.mbc-marine.com portal
and log in to your account created in step
1. As it will be your rst SmartTouchRemote
device, you will land on the page to add a
new device (picture a5).
8. Click on the “ADD NEW” (1) button and type
the unique ID of the device. If all the above
steps worked, the remote controller will be
connected to your account and immediately

portal.
