NuvistorforthefirstRFamplifier.TheNuvis-
tor(triode)operatesintoa triodetubetoform
acascodeamplifier.Carefuldesignofthe
operatingcharacteristicsallowsthecascode
amplifiertohandlea widedynamicrangeof
signalswithexcellentsignal-to-noiseratio.
Adouble-tunedRFinputcircuitcombined
withtheNuvistor-tubecascodeamplifier
reducesspurioussignalstoanextremelylow
value.Sensitivityisincreasedtothehighest
possiblerating,whilestillretaininghigh
selectivity.
AnewlydevelopedAutomaticFrequency
Control(AFC)circuitgreatlysimplifiestuning.
Asthetuningknobismoved,theAFCcircuit
automaticallycutsoffforsharpesttuning.

lightisincludedonthefrontdialpanel.The
MPXindicatorlightswheneverthedial
pointercrossesa stationbroadcastingFM
multiplexstereo.Theindicatorusesa special
noise-rejectingbridgecircuitwithtwoger-
maniumdiodes.TheindicatorlightsONLYon
the19KCcarrierpresentina multiplexstereo
broadcast.Itwillnotlightonnoiseorinter-
ferencesignals.
TheMR65Bmultiplexdecodercircuit
usesa specialpeak-switching,self-matrixing
detector.Stereochannelseparationismain-
tainedatbetterthan30db.
