INFORMATION FOR YOUR SAFETY!

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE PROCEEDING.

Power Supply
Please connect the designated AC adaptor to an AC
outlet of the correct voltage.
Do not connect it to an AC outlet of voltage other than
that for which your instrument is intended.
Unplug the AC power adaptor when not using the
instrument, or during electrical storms.
Connections
Before connecting the instrument to other devices, turn
off the power to all units. This will help prevent
malfunction and / or damage to other devices.
Location
Do not expose the instrument to the following
conditions to avoid deformation, discoloration, or more
serious damage:
Direct sunlight
Extreme temperature or humidity
Excessive dusty or dirty location
Strong vibrations or shocks
Close to magnetic fields
Interference with other electrical devices
Radios and televisions placed nearby may experience
reception interference. Operate this unit at a suitable
distance from radios and televisions.
Cleaning
Clean only with a soft, dry cloth.
Do not use paint thinners, solvents, cleaning fluids, or
chemical-impregnated wiping cloths.
Handling
Do not apply excessive force to the switches or controls.
Do not let paper, metallic, or other objects into the
instrument. If this happens, unplug the AC adaptor from
the wall outlet. Then have the instrument inspected by
qualified service personnel.
Disconnect all cables before moving the instrument.
CAUTION
The normal function of the product may be disturbed
by Strong Electro Magnetic Interference. If so,
simply reset the product to resume normal operation
by following the owner’s manual. In case the function
could not resume, please use the product in other
location.

1.LEVEL Knob
Controls the output LEVEL of the effect.
2.LOW Knob
Manipulate the LOW tone.
3.M.F/TONE Knob
If the current distortion model has M.F.
(Middle Frequency) or Tone modulation, the
LED of M.F./TONE will be lighted up
accordingly.
4.MIDDLE Knob
Manipulate the MIDDLE tone.
5.GAIN Knob
Turn this knob clockwise to adjust the GAIN.
6.HIGH Knob
Manipulate the HIGH tone.
7.MODE Knob
Select one distortion model among the 15
models, or to select the patch memory
function.
8.PATCH MEMORY Buttons
Press any of the PATCH MEMORY buttons to
store your favorite tones to one of the six
patch memory buttons (When the “MODEL”
knob on the M position is selected).
9.ON/OFF LED
Indicates the on/off status of the unit.
10.FOOT SWITCH
Press the switch to turn effects on and off or
for patch memory selection.
11.POWER Jack
Plug OPTIONAL 9V power adaptor into this
jack.
12.INPUT Jack
Connect your guitar to this jack.
13.OUTPUT Jack
Connect this output jack to your guitar
amplifier.

Battery Replacement Diagram
Warning:
1. A 9V battery (optional) must be installed
before you plug the mono audio cable into
the input jack.
2. While the power supply is low, the ON/OFF
LED will extinguish. Please replace the
battery accordingly.
3. Turn the guitar amplifier off before plugging
and unplugging cables, otherwise
tremendous noise might be produced and the
unit might be damaged as well.

Connection
Connection
1. Connect the optional power supply to the
power jack or insert a 9V battery (optional)
into the battery compartment on the bottom.
2. Connect your guitar to input jack and an
amplifier to output jack of the Pedal.
3. The Pedal will automatically switch on after a
cable is plugged into its input jack when
using a battery.
Use only the appropriate adaptor with the
correct voltage and with a center NEGATIVE
polarity. Some adaptors are made with a
different polarity or voltage, which may
damage the unit if it has been falsely used in
connection.

This model is based on IBANEZ TS808 TUBE
SCREAMER . TS808 is famous for delivering a
warm, natural tube overdrive sound. Also it is a way
to boost your signal without adding a lot of distortion.
This model is based on BOSS® SD-1 SUPER
OverDrive. Many famous guitarists use SD-1 as an
overdrive pedal or a booster, it provides a harmonical
drive sound, and especially suits a humbucker pickup.
This model is based on BOSS OD-1 Over Drive, a
legendary pedal discontinued in 1985. It has a very
pure and vintage overdrive sound that a great many
guitar players thirst for.
This model is based on Fulltone OCD Obsessive
Compulsive Drive™. This pedal can keep all the touch
sensitivity and complex harmonics, bring out a full
natural drive sound.

There are two modes for selection under this model.
Turn the MIDDLE knob less than a '12 O'clock
position', the LED indicator will not be lighted; the
current selection will be the “HP” mode. Turn the
MIDDLE knob to a position exceeds '12 O'clock', and
the LED lights, creates the “LP” mode.
This model is based on MXR M104
distortion+, the classic distortion tone which
sounds very vintage.
This model is based on BOSS DS-1, the
best-selling distortion pedal of BOSS .
This model is based on Marshall
GUV'NOR, the most famous pedal made by
Marshall, creates a most pure-blood British
sound absolutely worthy of its Marshall
heritage.

by Marshall.
This model is based on DUNLOP
FUZZFACE™ the classic sound of fuzz.

This model is based on ProCo™ VINTAGE
RAT™, a unique tone between Overdrive,

This model is based on DOD FX69
GRUNGE . Although it's called GRUNGE ,
the FX69 is more suitable for playing Heavy
Metal. It gives a very sharp distortion sound.
This model is based on IBANEZ SM7
SMASH BOX , a real “smash box”,
providing “sharp” and “smooth” models.
There are two modes for selection under this model.
Turn the M.F./TONE knob less than a '12 O'clock
position', the LED indicator will not be lighted; the
current selection will be the “SHARP” mode. Turn the
M.F./TONE knob to a position exceeds '12 O'clock',
and the LED lights, creates the “SMOOTH” mode.

Warning:
To avoid the possibility of losing the stored
patches or results in an unsuccessful storage,
you are suggested to use an appropriate
adaptor while performing the storage operation.
Ensure the power will not be terminated.
Storing Your Favorite Tones
You can store your favorite tones into one of the
6 patches when the Pedal knob is turned to a
position between MODEL 1~15 and the
ON/OFF LED indicator is on at the same time.
For example, if you want to store the current
setting to patch 5, you should press the 5th
button (as show in the diagram) and hold for at
least 0.5 second. The ON/OFF LED indicator
has to be on at the same time. Then, all LED
indicators of the Pedal will light up from 1 to 6 in
a slow speed.

Store and Recall Patches
Press and hold the 5th button for another 2
seconds to enter the storage function; all LED
indicators will flash from 1 to 6 in a fast speed.
You can then release the button. The LED
indicator of this button will be lighted for the final
one second, then the whole action will stop;
your own setting has already been stored into
the chosen patch.
Finally, it returns back to the normal mode
automatically.

Store and Recall Patches
Recalling the Saved Memories
If you want to recall the patches that you have
saved, you must turn the MODEL knob to the M
position:
At this time, the LED indicator of the latest
stored patch will be lighted automatically.
For example, if you want to recall patch 4, just
press the 4th button:
When the MODEL knob points to the M
position, you can adjust the LEVEL knob as
usual; however, other knobs will be inactivated.

Advanced Use
FOOT SWITCH Control Mode
When the MODEL knob points to the M position,
the FOOT SWITCH will provide two function
modes.
Before making connection or powers on FD500,
turn the MODEL knob to the M position, then press
and hold the FOOT SWITCH firmly; powers up the
unit and keep holding the FOOT SWITCH until the
ON/OFF LED indicator flashes three times.
The FOOT SWITCH control mode will now be
changed from the status of “MODE.1” to
“MODE.2”. You can hit the FOOT SWITCH to swap
from one patch to another in sequence.
If you do not press and hold the FOOT SWITCH
before FD500 powers on, the FOOT SWITCH
control mode remains the MODE you set before.
Note:
You will not be able to manipulate patches and
their settings under the FOOT SWITCH Control
Mode.
The FOOT SWITCH control mode setting will be
saved when power off.

Can't power on [On/Off LED doesn't light
normally]
Check the connection of power.
Make sure the power is connected correctly.
Check the adaptor, is the type of adaptor right
(DC9V/300mA/center negative type)?
Use right type of adaptor, or else it may cause
damage to the equipment.
If using battery, check the INPUT jack, is the
cable connected properly to it?
If using battery, check the battery, is the
battery low or dead?
When using battery, make sure the battery is
at work and plug in the INPUT jack with audio
cable.
No sound / low volume
Check the connection of cables.
Make sure the IN/OUT cables are connected
correctly.
Check the volume of instrument and amplifier.
Make sure the volume of every equipment is
set to a appropriate level.
Troubleshooting

Check the LEVEL knob, do you set it to Min?
Set the LEVEL to a higher value.
No/low effect sound
Are you in Bypass status?
Press the FOOT SWITCH to get in effect
status.
Check GAIN knob, do you set them to Min?
Set the GAIN to a higher value.
Are you in M MODE, and use a Memory
Patch? Maybe when you saved this Patch, the
GAIN knob was point to the lowest value, so
there may be low wet sound.
Restore this patch with setting the GAIN knob
to a appropriate negative.
High level of noise
Check the adaptor.
Make sure the adaptor's type is correct
(DC9V/300mA/center minus).
Check the cables.
Make sure the cables are connected firmly.
Suggest using shielded cables.
