Safety Instructions
Congratulations! You have now possessed one of the most
sophisticated and environmental friendly presentation tools. It will
assist you in your lecturing and interacting with your audience in a
professional way.
Warning
If smoke or strange odor arise, continued use could result in fire. In
such case, immediately switch off the M-Pointer and if appropriate,
disconnect the USB cable. After making sure that the smoke or
odor has stopped, contact your dealer for repairs. Do not attempt to
make repairs yourself.
Do not open the cabinet. There are no user serviceable parts inside.
Should the unit become faulty, please contact your dealer.
Do not press the pen too hard onto the wall or screen
Cleaning Do not use abrasive chemical or solvents for cleaning. Use
only soft cloth and mild cleaning products.
Do not place the M-Pointer on unstable surface. The accuracy of
the calibration will be compromised if the M-Pointer moves after
calibration.

To make sure you have a thorough understanding of the various
functions of the M-Pointer, please go through this booklet in details.
Please also keep it in a handy place for future reference when
necessary.

Installation
Software Installation
The M-Pointer Driver program is on the CD ROM. Turn on your PC and
insert the CD into the CD ROM driver. Follow the instruction to install the
program.
1. click “MPOINTER.EXE” to start the installation.
2. Accept the terms and conditions of the license agreement, then click NEXT

. Set the location to install the MPOINTER software, then click INSTALL
to start the installation.

4. Click FINISH to complete the installation.

Using the Software
Connect the M-POINTER unit via the USB cable or insert the wireless USB
dongle into the USB port of your PC. Start the MPOINTER application
software. The icon will appear in the task bar on the bottom of the screen and
the menu will display as follows :
: Before using the functions of the M-Pointer the unit needs to be set to
read the screen size. Click on then select CALIBRATE.

Calibration
4 points mode : standard
Touch the displayed crosshairs with the IR pen. If the device is able to
detect the signal from the pen, the crosshairs will move to the next
calibration point.
075, 0.5 and 0. modes : When the camera is not able to cover the whole
screen, that is the top parts of the screen is out of reach, then use these
modes. 0.75 mode, the crosshairs start to appear ¾ the way up the screen,
0.5 mode half way up and 0. mode 1/ the way up.
For greater accuracy, use the 25 and 16 point calibration modes.

Picture in Picture :
: When the PiP function is selected, a
small window of the whole screen will appear, as in the following picture.
Calibrate as in the main calibration procedure but for the small window.
This is particularly useful in situations when the entire screen is large
and the top of the screen is out of reach.

The following describes the functions of the M-Pointer software.
ANNOTATION
PEN : A selection of different pen
styles
ERASER : Selecting ways to delete
annotations
GRAPHICS : Function to draw

Fountain pen

Dotted line style
Clear all writings on the screen
Input text by keyboard. Move
cursor to location where you would like
the text to be placed. Press and hold
LEFT mouse button then move mouse
to open required box size.
To increase or reduce pen
width or text size
Selects pen or text color
Previews pen thickness, color and
text size

erase at the cursor position
Erase an enclosed area
Cancels last operation
Reverse the cancelled
operation
Clear all annotations

GRAPHICS
Use this function to draw various
regular shapes on the screen

WHITEBOARD
A blank screen to let you draw
and write.
PEN, ERASER, GRAPHICS,
functions exactly as in
ANNOTATIONS.
3DBOARD :
Displays a set of 20 files
(PNG files). Each numbered tile can be selected
and displayed as the main tile on the screen.
Can draw, write on each file and the whole set
can be stored in the SAVEFILE folder. Prepared
files can be imported to aid presentations.
Files are stored in the following format
SaveFile\yy-mm-dd-mi-zt\WhiteBoardTemp
(where yy is year, mm is month, dd is day, mi is
minutes).

KEYBOARD
Sets the IR pen equivalent to operate as the
RIGHT BUTTON of a mouse.
Sets the IR pen equivalent to operate as the
DOUBLE CLICK action of a mouse
Closes opened applications
Provides options RESTORE, MINIMIZE, ESC
and KEYBOARD. See Below
