TheInterpupillary
Distance
is
essentiallythe
distance
between
your
two
pupils
expressed
inmillimeters.
When
set
correctly,
one
will
see
oneuniformroundfieldof
view
orFOV.The adjustment
ismade
by
simply
pulling
apartor
pushing
togethertheeyetubes
untila uniform
roundfield
is
achieved.
Makenote
ofthe
numbermarked
on
the
viewinghead
so
you
can
repeat
thesetting
later.
When
youplace
aspecimen
onthe
stage,
get
itintofocuswith
the
right
eyewhile
your
left
eye
is
closed.Once
theright
side
is
in
focus
by
usingthe
finefocusknob
on
the
microscope,
open
your
left
eye
anduse
the
diopteronthe
left
eyetubetobring
the
left
sideinfocus.
Once
this
is
done,
themicroscopeis

1.Turn
onthe
microscopeilluminator
and
place
the
specimenslide
you
wish
toexamineonthe
microscope
stage.
Rotatethe10X
objective
into
position
and
focus
on
image
of
your
specimen.
2.Move
thesub-stagecondenserup
toitstop
position
using
therack
and
pinion
focusing
control.
3.Checkto
make
surethatboththe
fieldiris
(on
the
lamphouse)
andtheapertureiris
(in
thesub-stage
condenser)are
fully
open.
Rotatethefieldiris

ringuntilthe
edgeof

visible
