4 Known Issues
The following table describes MLNX-OS™ known issues in this software release and possible
workarounds.
4.1 General Known Issues
For any possible errata due to hardware issues, please refer to the switch support prod-
uct page.

1. Management Interfaces Host name may not include the “.” character.
2. Modules When using 5m splitter cable (P/N MC2609125-
005), wrong data will be displayed under trans-
ceiver information. It can be safely ignored.
3. NTP Deleting an NTP entry and enabling it back may
result in a wrong “show ntp” output (unsynchro-
nized). This can be safely ignored.
4. Software Management Only one image is allowed to be copied into the
system (using the image fetch command). The
user must remove old image files prior to fetching
a new one.
5. Software Management Upgrading to v3.2.0594 (or later) forces all Con-
nectX®-3 adapters that are connected to this
switch to upgrade their firmware to adapter firm-
ware v2.10.7204 (or later). For switch-to-switch
connections, it is highly recommended that all
SwitchX® switches be upgraded to MLNX-OS
version v3.2.0594 (or later) to guarantee robust
interoperability.
6. Software Management In case of an upgrade, ACL sequence-number “0”
is not valid any more. In case there are two ACL
entries with sequence number of “0” and “1”
(sequential entries), the ACL with sequence-num-
ber 0 is deleted. In other cases where there is an
ACL entry with sequence-number “0”, it is moved
to be sequence-number 1 within the system
upgrade procedure.
In case you have an ACL
entry with sequence
number “0”, recreate it
with different sequence
number, prior to the
upgrade procedure.
7. Configuration Manage-
ment
Loading the wrong system configuration file may
hang the system.
For example: an attempt to use an SX1016 config-
uration file on an SX6036/SX6536/SX1035 sys-
tem may cause the system to hang.

8. Configuration Manage-
ment
After loading a new configuration file, please
reboot the system. Otherwise, configuration might
not be properly applied.
9. Configuration Manage-
ment
The command configuration revert fac-
tory is removed.
Use the command reset fac-
tory instead.
10. Logging “DROPPED MSG” errors may appear during
reload (shutdown phase). These errors can be
safely ignored.
11. User Management Some RADIUS and TACACS+ configurations
keep the user locked out of the machine due to
timeout limitation.
Press the reset button for 15
seconds, and then log in
using your local authentica-
tion. Additionally, fix the
configuration to avoid any
future timeout issues.
12. User Management Restoring admin password is not supported.
13. CLI The feature “Ctrl+C” is not supported in this
release.
It is advised to avoid using
it.
14. WebUI Only a single WebUI login per host is possible. To have multi-sessions,
open several browser simul-
taneously.
15. WebUI Reversing the time clock can result in WebUI
graphs’ corrupted data.
Clear the graphs data after
setting the clock.
16. SNMP LLDP MIB OID lldpRemPortDesc is not sup-
ported.
17. Chassis Management Supported USB flash drives are USBv2 protocol
and above.
18. Chassis Management Duplicate notification is sent upon high tempera-
ture alerts, both specific module alerts and general
“too high” alerts.
19. IP Routing The current release doesn’t support L3.

1. Ethernet Interfaces The system allows tolerance of 4 bytes on top of
the set MTU.
2. Ethernet Interfaces In case of faulty cable, rise time of other interfaces
in the system may be delayed.
3. LAG Convergence time of port removal from a LAG
exceeds the specification by up to 30 seconds.

removing it from the LAG.

4. LAG The remote LACP admin-key #1 cannot be estab-
lished with some third party vendors.
Use a different admin-key
number.
5. LAG Traffic running over LAG may not be evenly dis-
tributed when testing small number of SMACs.
6. LAG A port-channel stops forwarding traffic after dis-
abling some Ethernet ports in the same port-chan-
nel group.
Disable and enable the
LAG.
7. LAG When converting static LAG to dynamic LAG
(LACP), some of the ports remain in ‘DOWN’
state.
Disable and enable the
LAG.
8. VLAN It might take approximately 20 seconds to create/
delete 1000 VLANs, or to change the switchport
mode of an interface.
9. Spanning Tree Non-standard behavior may occur on third party
switch STP functionality when the port moves
from Root to Alternate state. The standard Pro-
posal-Agreement sent by MLNX-OS is unan-
swered which may result in traffic loss of up to 30
seconds.
10. IGMP Snooping Setting the “ip igmp snooping unregistered multi-
cast” option to “forward-to-mrouter-ports” option
reduces the amount of supported VLANs to 250.
11. ACL A mask of IPv4 ACL rule can contain either 255
or 0 in any of the 4 bytes assembling it.
12. ACL ACL is not supported on split interfaces.
13. ACL Removing configured ACL on split interfaces
requires reset factory.

5 Bug Fixes
The following table describes MLNX-OS™ bug fixes in this software release.

1. Ethernet Interfaces When trying to give a description to a port after it has been split, the command
fails.
2. Ethernet Interfaces After reload, port flow control might appear enabled when it is actually disabled.
3. Ethernet Interfaces On rare occasions the internal links does not come up in 40GbE.
4. Spanning Tree While running the show spanning-tree command, the error
“issd_st_get_switch_port_loop_guard - nmhGetFsMIMstCistPortLoopGuard
failed with issin-dex” might appear in the log. This can safely be ignored.
5. LLDP User cannot delete all optional LLDP TLVs (only modifying them), one of the
optional LLDP TLVs will be added always.
6. QoS Mapping user priority ‘i’ (0<= i <=7) to traffic class 0 (TC0), while priority based
flow control (PFC) is enabled on priority ‘i’, may cause excessive transmission of
pause frames in case of congestion.
7. User Interfaces ME allows 1Gb/s speed option in CLI and WebUI.
8. CLI Make behavior consistent between “banner login” in CLI and WebUI equivalent.
9. Chassis Management ME firmware version information does not display within OA interfaces.
10. WebUI Clicking the “Apply” button in the port configuration section might cause a port
restart.
11. SNMP The entity-sensor MIB is currently not supported.
12. System MLNX-OS shows the model type of ME as “SX689638” when it is actually
“SX1018HP”.
13. LLDP LLDP uses only mgmt0 IP address as management address.
14. LLDP When changing the mgmt0 IP address or port description, LLDP does not update
this information in the LLDP TLVs.
15. LLDP LLDP notifications are not supported.
16. LLDP By default, the management address is not advertised in the LLDP management
address TLV.
17. LLDP A TLV management address is sent for all IP interfaces in the system.
18. LLDP When an interface is disabled, an LLDPDU with TTL 0 is not sent.
19. LLDP Chassis ID is advertized via the system GUID.
20. LLDP LLDPDUs with the wrong EtherType are not discarded.
21. LLDP The SwitchX management address is not advertised on splitter ports.
22. ACL There is no enforcement for configuring out-of-range VLAN in ACL.

23. ACL When splitting an Ethernet interface with an ACL rule, the interface remains
bound by the ACL.
24. ACL MAC packets are discarded when the IPv4 ACL deny rule is defined.
25. Logging SDKd process errors may appear during reload (shutdown phase) or switching
system profile.
