PRELIMINARY INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE BEGINNING
CHAINS REPLACEMENT
1. Remove drywall support
2. Crank the I-BMDPL until each mast comes 3 inches out of the previous mast
3. Unbolt the two M10 nuts of the cover
4. Remove the rolling base so that you end up with the mast assembly only
5. Lay the I-BMDPL on a long table or on the ground
6. Unbolt the M19 nut to remove the crank assembly and the 22 tooth sprocket
7. If chain #1, #2 or #4 must be replaced as well, follow the steps on page 3
*it is possible to remove the crank assembly and the 22 tooth sprocket without having to detach the #5 chain. To do so, it is necessary to pull
the crank assembly and the sprocket simultaneously. Be carefull not to lose de sprocket key
TOOLS NEEDED:
• C-Clip plier
• Long nose plier
• 10 mm, 17mm, 19 mm,
wrench or socket and ratchet
• 3 mm, allen key

CHAIN #1, #2 ET #4 MUST BE REPLACED
1. Unbolt the 3 lateral plates
2. Remove the brake assembly

INSTRUCTIONS TO REPLACE #3 CHAIN
REMOVE #3 CHAIN
1. Pull on the third mast until the bottom portion on which #3 chain is linked is visible and accessible
2. Remove the cotter pin to free the third mast from #3 chain
3. Remove the C-CLIP and the pin to detach the chain no.35 support wich is visible on detail A
4. Remove the cotter pin to free the chain no.35 support from the #3 chain (detail A)
5. Remove #3 chain from assembly

REQUIRED MATERIAL:
COMPLET REPLACEMENT: 3RD MAST CHAIN KIT (I-BMDPL913)
OR
CHAIN EXTREMITY REMPLACEMENT: NO. 35 CHAIN LINK KIT (I-BMDPL907)
1. Attach a pair of chain plates at each end of #3 chain with a pin and a cotter pin
2. Attach one end of the #3 chain to the chain no.35 support with a pin and a cotter pin

INSTAL #3 CHAIN
3. Reinsert the chain no.35 support at it initial position and put back the C-CLIP to fix the part
4. Pass the free end of #3 chain between the second mast’s sprocket and bent sheet metal as shown below
5. Link #3 chain to the bottom part of the third mast with a pin and a cotter pin
6. Bend the cotter pins to ensure that the chain plates stay in place
7. Slide the third mast into the second mast

INSTRUCTIONS TO REPLACE #2 CHAIN
REMOVE #2
1. Pull the third mast until it is fully out of the second mast
2. Pull the second mast until the bottom portion of the mast on wich #2 chain is linked is visible and accessible
3. Remove the cotter pin to free the second mast from the chain #2
4. Remove the C-CLIP and the pin to detach the chain no.40 support (visible on detail B)
5. Remove the cotter pin to free the chain no.40 support from #2 chain (detail B)
6. Remove #2 chain from the assembly

INSTALL #2 CHAIN
REQUIRED MATERIAL:
COMPLETE REPLACEMENT: 2ND MAST CHAIN KIT (I-BMDPL912)
OR
CHAIN EXTREMITY REPLACEMENT: NO. 40 CHAIN LINK KIT (I-BMDPL908)
1. Attach a pair of chain plates at each end of #2 chain with a pin and a cotter pin as shown below.
Bend the cotter pin.
2. Attach one end of #2 chain to the chain no.40 support part with a pin and a cotter pin. Bend the cotter pins

INSTALL #2 CHAIN
3. Reinsert the chain no.40 support at it initial position and put back the C-CLIP to fix the part
4. Pass the free end of the chain between the first mast’s sprocket and bent sheet metal as shown below
5. Link the #2 chain to the bottom part of the second mast with a pin and a cotter pin
6. Slide the second mast into the first mast

INSTRUCTIONS TO REPLACE #1 CHAIN
REMOVE #1 CHAIN
1. Remove the cotter pin that link #1 chain to the long nut as shown below
2. Remove chains #4 and shaft assemblies from the assembly.
Put them aside until the #1 chain is installed back
3. Remove the c-clip and the pin to detach chain #2 from the I-BMDPL’s base
4. Pull on the first mast until the first, second and third mast come all the way out of the base
5. Remove the cotter pin that link the #1 chain and the bottom portion of the first mast

COMPLETE REPLACEMENT: 1ST MAST CHAIN KIT (I-BMDPL911)
OR
CHAIN EXTREMITY REPLACEMENT: NO.40 CHAIN LINK KIT (I-BMDPL908)
1. Attach a pair of chain plates at each end of #1 chain with a pin and a cotter pin as shown below
2. Attach one end of the #1 chain to the bottom part of the first mast with a pin and a cotter pin
3. Bend the cotter pin to ensure that the plates stay in the assembly

INSTRUCTION TO REPLACE #1 CHAIN
INSTALL #1 CHAIN
4. Slide the first mast in the base while making sure that the #1 chain stays accessible
5. Pass the free end of the #1 chain around the 10 thoot sprocket and around the central sprocket
of the shaft assembly as shown below
6. Link the free part of the chain to the long nut on the first mast with a pin and a cotter pin
7. Bend the cotter pins to ensure that the chain plates stay in the assembly
8. Link #2 chain with the base of i-bmdpl by putting back the pin and C-CLIP previously removed
9. Slide the three masts in the base

1. Remove the two #4 chains from the assembly shaft assemblies

COMPLETE REPLACEMENT: TRANFERT CHAIN KIT (I-BMDPL910)
OR
CHAIN EXTREMITY REPLACEMENT: NO. 35 CHAIN LINK KIT (I-BMDPL907)
1. Form a loop with the #4 chain and close it with two chain plates, two pins and two cotter pins
Bend the cotter pins to ensure that the plates stay in the assembly
2. Replace the two #4 chain around the shaft assembly (1)
3. Reinsert the shaft assembly (2)

1. Remove the 22 tooth sprocket from the #5 chain
2. Separate the #5 chain and the crank assembly

COMPLETE REPLACEMENT: CLUTCH CHAIN KIT (I-BMDPL909)
OR
CHIAN EXTREMITY REPLACEMENT: NO. 40 CHAIN LINK KIT (I-BMDPL908)
1. Form a loop with #5 chain and close it with two plates, two pins and two cotter pins
Bend the cotter pins to ensure that the plates stay in the assembly
2. Reinsert #5 chain around the crank assembly’s sprocket
3. Reinsert the 22 thoot sprocket in the #5 chain

INSTRUCTIONS TO RESTORE I-BMDPL IN FUNCTIONNAL STATE
1. If not already done, reinstall the #4 chains around the shaft assembly (1)
2. Put back in place the shaft assembly (2)
3. Reinstall the three lateral plates and the brake assembly**
4. Reinstall crank assembly with 22 thoot sprocket and #5 chain. Don’t forget the key
5. Reinstall cover
6. Put back in place all bolts and nuts
** it is possible that the lateral plates are difficult to install because of the chain tension. If so, loosen the bolt
linked to the long nut to reduce chain tension. Once the plates are reinstalled, tighten the bolt to restore
tension in the #1 chain.

ÉTAPES PRÉLIMINAIRES À SUIVRE AVANT DE PROCÉDER
AU REMPLACEMENT DES CHAÎNES
1. Enlever le support à gypse
2. Tourner la manivelle afin d’allonger le produit de façon à ce que chacun des 3 mats sort d’au moins 3 pouces
3. Déboulonner les 2 noix M10 du couvercle
4. Enlever la base roulante afin de ne conserver que l’assemblage des mats
5. Coucher le I-BMDPL sur une longue table de travail ou au sol
6. Déboulonner la noix M19 afin de retirer l’assemblage de la manivelle et de l’engrenage 22 dents*
7. Si les chaînes #1, #2 ou #4 doivent être remplacées, il est nécessaire de suivre les étapes de la page 21
* Il est possible de retirer l’assemblage de la manivelle et l’engrenage 22 dents sans détacher la chaîne #5.
Pour ce faire, il faut tirer sur les deux composants simultanément. Attention de ne pas perdre la clavette.
