ofelectricorhybridvehiclesthatfeaturehighvoltage
systems.Incaseofanemergencypleasegivethisdocument
totherstresponder.
Thismanualonlyprovidesspecicinformationrequired
toidentify,locateandsafelyworkaroundhighvoltage
componentsintheeventofanemergency.Itincludes

•Duringrescue,pleaseobservethesafetyprecautionsassociatedwithhighvoltagepower.Inallcases,prioritymust
begiventothesafetyofpersonnel.
•Anycomponentsthatfeaturehighvoltagewarninglabelsorareorangeincolourwillfeaturehighvoltageelectricity.
Alwaysobserveanysafetyinstructionsdisplayedonanywarninglabels.
•Ifitisnecessarytooperateanyhighvoltagecomponents,itmustbecarriedoutbyqualiedpersonnel,supported
bysuitableinsulatedclothing,insulatedprotectionequipmentandonlyusinginsulatedtools.
•Ifitisnecessarytoworkwithoraroundhighvoltagecomponents,thehighvoltageisolationoperationMUSTbe
carriedoutinstrictaccordancewiththe"HighV oltageIsolation"operationinstructionsoutlinedinthismanual,any
subsequentoperationsmustbecarriedoutobservingallsafetycriteria.
•Whenliftingthevehicleusingtheunderside,payparticularattentionsoasnottodamagethehighvoltagebattery
pack.Whenusingrescuetools,paycloseattentiontoensurethattheoorisnotdamaged.
•T akecareatalltimeswhenworkingwithoraroundhighvoltagecomponents,regardlessoftheoperation,cutting,
squeezingortouchinghighvoltagecomponentscancauseseriousinjuryorevendeath.

beisolatedbycuttingthelowvoltageharnessinthe
frontcompartmentorbyremovingthemanualservice
disconnectdevice(mastersafetydevice).

personnel.Anyoperationsshouldonlybecarriedout
usingthecorrectinsulatedpersonalprotectiveequipment

1Liftthevehicleifsafetyconditionspermit.
2Onthedeectoratthefrontofthebatterypack(under
thevehicle),removethescrewonthecoverplateof
themanualservicedisconnect,releasetheretainingclip
andremovethecoverplate.
3Pulloutthesafetylockingcliponthemanualservice
disconnect(gureA),pressandholdtheendoftheclip
(FigureB),andpulloutthemanualservicedisconnect.

high-voltagecircuitvoltageiswithinthesaferange
(theeffectivevoltagevalueisnomorethan30V(AC)
andnomorethan60V(DC))withspecialequipment
(voltmeter,etc.)rstandthentakeappropriateactions.

Incasesofrescueduringvehiclere,
alwayswearcompletepersonalprotective
equipment,includingself-contained
breathingapparatus(SCBA).
Duringcasesofrescuewhenthevehicleisonre,
rescuepersonnelmustusethecorrectinsulatedpersonal
protectiveequipmentandinsulatedtools.
•Thedriver,passengersandirrelevantpersonnelmustbe
evacuatedfromthevehicleimmediately.
•Duringtherescueprocessavoidtouchingthemetal
chargedconductorofthedamagedhigh-voltageparts
topreventpossibleelectricshockinjury.
•Donotcontactanyhigh-voltagecomponentswhen
extinguishingthere,alwaysuseinsulatingtools
fordisposal.Disconnectthehigh-voltageoutput
immediatelywhenconditionspermit.
•Incasesofsmallreswheretheamesdonotspreadto
thehighvoltagebatterypack,carbondioxideorABC
drypowderreextinguishercanbeused.
•Ifthehigh-voltagebatterypackisonre,alargeamount
ofcontinuouswatercanbeusedtosprayitcontinuously
toreducethetemperatureofthehigh-voltagebattery
pack.(Ifnooneistrappedandtherescueconditions
permit,therescuepersonnelcanchoosetoletitburn
out.Atthesametime,ensurethattheredoesnot
spreadandavoidinhalationoftoxicsubstancesinthe
smoke.)
•Highvoltagebatteriesthatburnorgethotreleasetoxic
gases.Emergencypersonnelmustalwaysusecomplete
personalprotectiveequipment(includingSCBA)to
protectthemselves,andtakeappropriatemeasuresto
guidesmokeandgas,soastoprotectthesurrounding
peoplefromaccidents.
•Therearealargenumberofchemicalsinthebattery,
sothereisariskofreignition.Duringtheprocess
ofcompleteextinguishingitisrecommendedtouse
thermalimager ,thermometerandotherequipmentto
monitorthebatterytemperatureinrealtime.Ifthe
temperatureofthebatteryincreasessharply,orthereis
excessivesmokeemission,itisrecommendedthatthe
watersprayisdirectedstraightontothehighvoltage
batteryinordertocoolandcontrolthetemperature.
•Afterthereiscompletelyextinguished,theaccident
vehicleshouldbetransferredtoasafeplaceforisolation

immediately.Whentransferringthevehicle,itisnot
permittedtotowthevehicle,asuitabletransported
mustbeusedfortransportation.
•Ifthehigh-voltagebatterypackandhigh-voltage
componentsaredamaged,theremaybeasmallamount
ofliquidleakage,suchaslithiumbatteryelectrolyte
andcoolant.DONOTtouchanychemicals,clean
immediatelyandavoidthechemicalsenteringthesewer
orwatercourse.
•Afterrescueorrecoveryitisimportantthatanyhigh
voltagecomponentsorbatteriesarecorrectlyhandled
anddisposedof.PleaseseekadvicefromanMG
AuthorisedRepairer.
FireExtinguisher
Anyreextinguishersshouldbeindividuallypurchasedby
theowner,checkedandreplacedregularlyasadvisedby
thereextinguishermanufacturer.Itisrecommendedto
usecarbondioxidereextinguisherorABCdrypowder
reextinguisher.
Ifthevehicleisonreandthereissmall,there
extinguishercanbeusedtoextinguishthere(referto
theinstructionsforusingtheextinguisher).
Note:Whenusingthereextinguisher,pay
attentiontoavoiddirectskincontactandpossible
freezing/frostbite.

WaterloggedVehicle
Theelectricvehicledoesnotcreateanygreaterrisktolifewhenimmersedinwaterthanaconventionalvehicle.During
casesofrescuewhenthevehicleisimmersedinwater,rescuepersonnelmustusethecorrectinsulatedpersonal
protectiveequipmentandinsulatedtools.
•Thedriver,passengersandirrelevantpersonnelmustbeevacuatedfromthevehicleimmediately.
•Duringtherescueprocessavoidtouchingthemetalchargedconductorofthedamagedhigh-voltagepartstoprevent
possibleelectricshockinjury.
•Ifthereisnohissingsoundorfoambeingemittedbythehighvoltagebatterypack,thevehiclecanbesalvagedby
professionalorganizations.
•Afterrecoveryfromdeeporoodwaterthevehiclehighvoltagesystemmustbeisolatedandplacedinanopen
placeforisolation.
•Whenrecoveringvehicles,itisnotallowedtotowthemdirectly.Suitablerecoveryvehiclesmustbeusedfor
transportation.
•Afterrescueorrecoveryitisimportantthatanyhighvoltagecomponentsorbatteriesarecorrectlyhandledand
disposedof.PleaseseekadvicefromanMGAuthorisedRepairer .

Cutting
Nomatterwhatdisableprocedureisused,careshouldalwaysbetakenwithallhigh-voltagecomponents
toavoidpossiblepower-onrisks,cutting,squeezingortouchinghighvoltagecomponentsmaycause
seriousinjuryordeath.
Pleaseuseanappropriatetooltocutthevehicle,suchashydrauliccutter,alwayswearappropriatepersonalprotective
equipment,otherwiseseriouspersonalinjuryordeathmayoccur.
•Highvoltage,gascanisters,supplementaryrestraintsystem(SRS)andothercomponentsaredenedasnon-cuttingareas
(redcircleareainthegure).Donotcutorsqueezetheseareas,thismaycauseseriousinjuryordeath.Highvoltage
componentscanbecutonlyafterthehighvoltagesystemisisolated,exceptforhigh-voltagebatterypack.
•Inordertoprotectthepassengersinthecollision,someareasarereinforcedwithultrahighstrengthsteel,theseareas
canbecutorsqueezedwithappropriatetools(cyanareainthegure).

JACKINGORLIFTING
Whenjackingorliftingthevehicletakeextra
caretonotdamagethehigh-voltagebattery
pack.Whenusingrescuetools,payspecial
attentiontoensurethattheoorisnot
damaged.
Thehighvoltagebatterypackislocatedonthebottom
ofthevehicle.WhenJackingorstabilizingthevehicle,
onlyusethedesignatedliftingarea(showningreen)and
makesurethatthereisnocontactwiththehigh-voltage
batterypack(showninorangearea)orotherhigh-voltage
components.

VehicleRecoveryafterAccident
Afteranaccident,vehiclerecoveryadviceisasfollows:
T ransporterorT railer
T otransportthevehicleonatransporterortrailer ,t
wheelchocks(1)asshown,thenpositiontheantislip
rubberblocks(2)aroundthecircumferenceofthe
wheel.Meanwhile,tthelashingstraps(3)aroundthe
wheelsandsecurethemonthetrailer .Fastenthestraps
tosecurethevehicle.
Incaseswherethevehiclebreaksdownorencounters
anaccident,youcanusethetowinghooktotowyour
vehicle,suchastowingyourvehicleontothetransporter.
Buttheyarenotdesignedfortowingothervehicles.The
vehiclecanbetowedbyusingasoftrope,butahardrodis
recommended.PleaseconsulttheOwner'sHandbookfor
detailedinstructions.
Suspendedtowingisthebestmethodforavehicle
thatneedstobetowed.ThedrivenwheelsMUSTbe
suspendedabovetheground,thisistoavoidanydamageto
thedrivecomponentsandpossibleinadvertentpowering
ofthevehicle.EnsuretheEPBisreleased,thehazard
lampsareONandnopassengersareinthevehicle.
