SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNING!
All machinery carries the risk of certain hazards involved with their operation and use. To lessen the
chance of personal injury it is imperative that respect and caution be exercised at all times during
operation of this equipment. If, however, normal safety precautions are overlooked or ignored,
personal injury to the operator, or damage to property may result. For your own safety, please read
and pay attention to the following instructions:

3
Operating and instruction manual
1. Compressed Air is potentially dangerous and can cause serious injury and damage. Extreme
caution is required at all times when using the compressor and accessories.
2. Make sure that children and animals are kept well away from the compressor and respective
equipment at all times.
3. Do not operate the compressor if any of the guards have been removed.
4. Electrical or mechanical repairs are to be carried out by qualified engineers only. Contact
your MGF dealer in the case of any problems.
5. Make sure that any pressure is expelled from the air receiver and the machine is
disconnected from the mains supply BEFORE carrying out any maintenance procedures.
6. Do not leave pressure in the air receiver overnight or during transportation.
7. Never attempt to exceed the maximum pressure: it is factory set and clearly marked.
8. Do not run the machine in wet or damp conditions. Ensure that machine is kept dry all times.
9. Do not operate the machine in dusty or otherwise dirty conditions. Ensure that the
atmosphere is clean for efficient operation.
10. Be sure that machine is placed in a well ventilated position to ensure the perfect cooling of
the compressor.
11. Avoid touching metal parts that get hot during operation. Wait for compressor to cool down.
12. For safe operation, adjust the pressure regulator to the recommended setting as indicated by
the specific tool or accessory being used for a particular usage and application.
13. Not spray near any flames or areas where sparks or other sources of ignition may occur.
14. Make sure that the area is well ventilated when using materials that give off fumes or sprays.
15. Always take special care with the electrical cables and hoses, making sure that they are not
put under strain, wrapped, bent or angled or in the way during usage of the compressor.
16. Make sure that air supply is switched off and all pressurized air is expelled from the
compressor and any equipment attached to it when disconnecting or attaching hoses.
17. Any equipment or accessories used in conjunction with the compressor must have a safety
working pressure exceeding that of the compressor.
18. Make sure that any person using the compressor has read and fully understood the
information contained in this Instruction Manual
OPERATION
1. Check that you have appropriate power supply and that the mains voltage corresponds
with that shown on plate fixed to compressor.
2. Before plugging the electrical cable into the mains supply, make sure that the ON/OFF
switch is turned to the ‘OFF’ position (A, Fig.1). Plug in and switch on at the mains supply and
turn the ON/OFF switch to the ‘ON’ position to start the motor of the compressor.

D

4
Operating and instruction manual
NOTE: If the motor does not start immediately, it is possible that the air receiver is already full of air.
The motor will start automatically once the cut-in pressure is reached.
3. Connect one end of the correct air hose to the connector at the air outlet (D, Fig. 2) and
the other end to the nozzle/accessory being used
4. Set the outlet pressure with the pressure regulator (B, Fig. 2) by turning it clockwise to
increase pressure and anti-clockwise to decrease pressure. Check the pressure reached on
the manometer (C, Fig. 2).
NOTE: Max pressure allowed is 50 psi (6 bar) unless otherwise indicated by the manufacturer’s
instructions. However, you may need to set the operating pressure at a higher or lower level for other
airline equipment (e.g. tyre gauges, staple guns, paraffin guns etc.).
5. The pressure switch placed inside the silent cover should not require adjustment. This is
an automatic device and has been preset at the factory to stop the motor when pressure in the
receiver reaches its maximum, and to start it again when the pressure in the receiver falls to
the minimum preset value. This operation is completely automatic and does not affect the
compressing process. However, should problems develop with the cut-in, cut-out settings,
please consult your MGF dealer.
NOTES:
a. If the machine pumps continuously without cutting out then the compressor is too small
for the application/tool being used, and damage may result. Consult your MGF dealer.
b. The motor is protected by a Thermal Overload which will trip and stop the motor should
it overheat for any reason. Let the motor cool down for 15 – 20 min before restarting.
c. Do not exceed the Duty Cycle for the machine: for a best performance do not exceed
the 50% of duty cycle (50% of duty cycle: for ex. 50sec ON – 50 sec OFF)
SHUTTING DOWN THE COMPRESSOR
1. Turn the ON/OFF switch (A, see Fig. 2) to the ‘OFF’ position to switch the compressor off.
2. Release air from the air hose and pipe before disconnecting the hose from the machine by
releasing the air from the connected pipe.
3. Make sure all air is expelled from the receiver before transporting your compressor or leaving
overnight.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT switch the compressor ON or OFF by the mains. ALWAYS switch the
compressor ON or OFF by the pressure switch ONLY.
MAINTENANCE
EVERY 6 MONTHS
Check, clean and, in case, replace the aspiration filter inside the cover following the instructions
below:
1. Unscrew N° 2 screw as shown on picture 3.
FIG. 3

5
Operating and instruction manual
2. Take off the later panel as in picture 4 and 5.
FIG. 4 FIG. 5
3. Uscrew the aspiration filter with the screwdriver as reported in picture 6 and 7. Blow off with air
in pressure and eventually immerse it in a degreasing solution in order to remove any deposit
and fillings. If you find damages or obstructions not removable, contact your dealer or the
Technical Service MGF
FIG. 6 FIG. 7 - Aspiration filter
EVERY 12 MONTHS
Check compressor performance (time to reach the maximum pressure): in case of a performance
drop, please contact a specialized technician to replace consumables and sealing parts.
Periodicity check (every 12 months) is based on an use estimate of 1h / day (1h of ON cycle) with a
max working cycle of 50% (eg 50 sec ON - 50 sec OFF); in case of more critical uses, correspondingly
reduce check periodicity.
FAULT FINDING
PROBLEM PROBABLE CAUSE REMEDY
Compressor does not start,
or stops and does not start
again.
Bad connections.
Overload cut-out switch has
tripped.
Check all electrical connections.
Clean and tighten as necessary.
Let the compressor cool, check the
fan, contact the dealer.
Compressor does not start. Air receiver charged Compressor should start again when
pressure reduces to approx 60 psi.
