1. Overview
With the development of NB-IoT & CAT M1 technology, Mictrack R&D team has launched
a variety of positioning devices with long battery life and ultra-low power consumption. In the
process of developing ultra-low-power devices, Mictrack R&D team felt that it was difficult to
accurately measure power consumption data with ordinary instruments, and high-end
instruments were too expensive. The MT950 can be used for power consumption testing and
evaluation of NB-IoT, Cat M1, Bluetooth, Zigbee, LoRa, etc. It is very cost-effective and
suitable for R&D, testing, production of small and medium-sized enterprises and learning of
students and electronic enthusiasts.

7. Quick Start
Install and run the power analyzer PC software.
Use the USB cable to connect the analyzer and the computer, the PC software will
show “Ready”, then set the test device’s power supply voltage.
Connect the external DC power supply to the DC interface on the rear panel of the
analyzer, adjust the output voltage of the regulated power supply to a maximum of

12V (It is recommended to supply 4V higher than the power supply of the test device),
and press the power switch on the rear panel (press down to1 to turn on, press down
to 0 to turn off).
The red and black terminals on the front panel for the power supply output, confirm t
the output voltage is correct and then connect the test device’s positive and negative.
Click the “start” button on PC Software, click the “Auto Zoom” button, you can see the
waveform changes of voltage and current.

8.1 Test Pause

Click the “Pause” and “Continue” buttons to pause the automatic refresh of the chart
current waveform, which is convenient for viewing and analyzing.
“Pause” does not stop the current data collection and recording, but the screen display
pauses and the graph and waveform do not change dynamically.
Click “Continue”, the screen resumes to update and scroll, and automatically moves to
the latest real-time data location.
8.2 Automatic waveform zoom
If the current measurement range exceeds the graph representation range, click the auto
zoom button.
The system will automatically adjust the current coordinate ratio to display the chart
waveform.

8.3 Zoom in and out of the waveform via mouse roll
You can specify the mouse roll to zoom in or out on the time axis (horizontal axis) or the
current axis (vertical axis) through the setting bar on the right.
Whether it is horizontal or vertical zooming, the point where the mouse cursor is located is
the fixed point, which makes it easier to track and view the waveform details.
In the static state of the waveform (stop and pause state), you can pan the waveform by
dragging the mouse.
8.4 Display Ratio
Through the drop-down list space in the display scale setting column on the right, you can
easily select the display scale of the waveform on the time and current axis.

NOTE:
The sampling frequency of the analyzer is fixed and will not change due to the adjustment
of the display ratio. Different time scale gears are the average calculation results.
For example: select the 100ms time file, a point on the screen represents 100ms time,
calculated according to the sampling frequency of 10kHz, this point is the result of the average
calculation of 1000 sampling points.
That is to say, although the large-granularity time display ratio scale loses the waveform
details, the current (power consumption) value expressed at each point is still an accurate
average value that maintains the 10kHz sampling frequency.
8.5 Statistical area description
The real-time display is the real-time current, which is the average current in the last
1 second
The overall display is the average current from the start to the current time
The window statistics display the average current within the range of the current
screen chart, pay attention to the specific duration and the time display set on the
right
The scale gear is related to the zoom of the time axis
Recent statistics show the statistical data from the time specified by the user to the
current time. The recent time is specified in the setting bar on the right
The cursor statistics display the statistical data within the cursor range indicated by
the dotted line on the screen, which is also affected by the time scale file and time
zoom. Refer to the following for the specification method of the cursor range
The voltage shows the current voltage

8.6 Interval settings and cursor definition
The interval setting area on the right can set the duration of the recent and cursor
statistics. For example, if the recent duration is set to 20s, the data displayed in the recent
statistics window at the bottom of the graph waveform is the average result from 20s ago
to the current time. The recent duration can be specified as any value that needs to be
tracked and observed, and the time unit is seconds.
You can specify a percentage within the horizontal axis of the chart (the value range is 0
to 100) to display the dotted screen cursor line. If only two cursor lines are set to be
displayed, the statistical value of the cursor statistics window on the lower side displays
the statistical results between the two cursor lines. If only one cursor line is specified, the
cursor statistics window will display the statistical results from the cursor line to the
rightmost area of the waveform.
A more convenient way to set the cursor is to directly right-click the waveform area to set
the cursor line, and the cursor line will be displayed at the right-clicked position.
Right-click again and the second one appears, right-click three times to hide the cursor,
and so on.
The cursor can be moved by dragging with the mouse. The result of cursor statistics is
affected by both time scale and zoom.

8.7 File operation and version information
From the menu (file), you can perform typical file operations such as opening and saving.
Used for test record data archiving, analysis and communication. The saved file format is
an internal format, which can be opened by the host computer itself.
The (About) menu opens the copyright notice dialog box. Display system version,
copyright and other information.
