Mifare Classic User manual

Congratulations on your purchase of the Locker lock Freelocker with Mifare® technology.
With this decision you have acquired locking technology with which you can lock and
secure furniture without a key but nevertheless in a controlled, safe way.
General safety instructions
Important!
If the door is closed when starting up or changing the battery without inserting the battery, the
door cannot be opened via radio signals: it is necessary to break the door open.
Follow the exact instructions for installation and start-up of the radio systems and replacement of
the batteries. Remove the flat battery and to prevent a malfunction, wait at least 30 seconds
before inserting a new battery. Observe correct polarity (+/-) at the battery case and the
battery
itself.
At the bottom of the battery compartment and at the battery the polarity (+ / -) is indicated. Locks
with inserted battery never keep immediately adjacent to each other and also keep away the data
storage medium, as otherwise the battery will discharge.
Important!
During installation of the lock and strike plate, ensure that the door is not pre-stressed and
stresses are not transferred to the locking system. There is a risk that the latch can no longer
open  malfunction.
Avoid doors which are pre-loaded with a rubber profile.
Authorised opening of an electronic lock in wooden furniture with an encoded chip. This chip can
be in the form of an ID-card (cheque card format) or key fob. Function of the lock is only warran-
ted when mounted on not conductive materials (wood, plastic). The reading distance is dependent
on the transponder design (with Mifare® technology, we recommend the passport form). The max.
thickness of the material must not exceed 15-20 mm. If used with higher material thickness or
metal doors or doors with metal coatings an external antenna must be used.
Use of the lock in explosive environments. Use of the lock outside of the stipulated specifications.
For damage resulting from incorrect use the customer bears sole responsibility, the manufacturer
accepts no liability whatsoever.
Any type of modification to the Locker lock Freelocker is not permitted.
The electromagnetic conduct of the Locker lock Freelocker may be impaired by additions or
modifications of any kind.
Therefore do not carry out any modifications or additions to electric/electronic components.
The use of replacement parts from third-party manufacturers may lead to dangers. Use only
original parts or parts approved by the manufacturer.

prevention and environmental protection are to be obser-
ved.

Danger!
The electronics of the Locker lock Freelocker contains a lithium-ion battery.
Dispose of this battery in accordance with national regulations.
When disposing of partly discharged batteries, ensure that no accidental short circuits can occur
between the poles of the battery (for example due to key fob in pocket of clothing…): danger of
explosion and fire.
Fasten the partly discharged battery for transport using non-conductive adhesive film in such a
way that no short-circuits can occur.
Important!
Separate electronics of the Locker lock Freelocker from the other parts and dispose of in ac-
cordance with local regulations and directives.

Disposal
The user undertakes only to allow persons to work with the Locker lock Freelocker who:
• have been instructed in working with the Latch lock
• have read and understood this user’s manual.
The lock is equipped with a 3V battery, which guarantees up to 15.000 openings. The battery
level is automatically checked .
If the battery level is low, the necessary battery replacement is indicated by an audible signal.
Under certain circumstances, the signal may last for several days, in which case automatic
unlocking of the lock takes place.
The Locker lock Freelocker is a compact, wireless furniture lock for cupboards and drawers. It is
opened with an electric motor, when closed the system locks itself. A transponder type Mifare ®
Classic 1K is used as a key.
The transponders can be used without pre-programming at each lock (Freelocker = free choice
of locks).
The contactless Mifare ® Classic identification transponder will "wake up" the system and closed.
The transponder and the lock will be programmed automatically when closing. Then the trans-
ponder can obstruct no further locks. When opening the latch the programming will be automati-
cally deleted. The latch lock can be locked from all other transponders. The transponder is
"neutral" and can lock each latch lock. The installation of the lock is possible without holes in the
door panel. For metal doors are appropriate mounting hardware available. The transponder can
be in the form of a card (credit card format) or key fob. There are also wristbands with transpon-
ders available.

Note! The lock assembly of furniture and the closing part must always be mounted so
that the door in the closed state has at least 0.5 mm distance. This tolerance is
necessary for the emergency opening in case of the low battery. Make sure that
the transponder used have a very good reading quality. There should always be a
comfortable reading distance be available from the front of the cabinet of at least
5-10 mm . The mounting distance between two locks should be approx. 10 cm.
There is otherwise a risk of interference of the fields of the card reading panels.
That can cause discharge of the battery.
On delivery, the lock is neutral. Programming can be carried out/altered at any time, as described
in the following. Standard configuration means wheater the programming card nor the transpon-
der is programmed. The audible signal is „on“ and the mode „Freelocker“ is activated. The pro-
gramming procedure as described in the following, can be done/changed at every time.
1.) Create programming card: Press and hold the programming button of the lock, until a long
beep sounds, the memory in the lock will be deleted. The lock is now waiting for the first program-
ming card. First hold the programming card once to the identification zone, you will hear a ticking -
> while the ticking you can programm two more programming cards (max. 3 programming cards/
each lock)
The programming card(s) is (are) now stored.
Note: When using a new programming card the memory will be erased (long signal). If the
programming button has been pressed too short the lock begins to tick, and an alarm will sound.
You have now turned the identification signal off (see point 7).
2.) Add transponder, lock the locker lock: Hold the transponder on the card reader panel.
 An audible signal appears, the locker lock is locked. The tranponder is stored.
Note: The transponder is programmed automatically by the lock and therefore cannot
block any other latch lock.
3.) Unlocking Freelocker latch lock: Hold the transponder once against on the card reader panel.
 The confirmation signal is sounded again, the latch moves back and the lock opens.
Note: The programming on the transponder is removed. The transponder can lock another
Freelocker locker lock.
4.) Emergency opening with programming card: Hold the programming card to the reader panel,
the lock starts ticking, while ticking hold the programming card twice against on the reader (twice
short beep to confirm).
 The lock open, the latch is moved into the open position. The transponder is stored.
5.) Delete all stored transponders: Hold the programming card to the reader panel, the lock starts
ticking, while ticking hold the programming card 4x against the card reader panel.
 The transponder is deleted, the latch is moved into the open position.
6.) Delete all stored programming cards: Hold the programming card to the reader panel, the lock
starts ticking, while ticking hold the programming card 6x against the card reader panel.
 All saved programming cards are deleted, the latch is moved into the open position. Now you
can create new programming cards — see Point 1). The transponder is stored.
7.) Switch signal tone on or off: keep the programming button pressed for max. one second.
The signal tone is switched off/on.
After a RESET = 3 seconds press button, is the lock always in default Mode, all
transponders are cleared and the lock is ready for the programming card (s).
The Freelocker latch lock is programming during the write-/read process the
Mifare® Transponder. When locking the lock information is written to the trans-
ponder. This information is needed so that the transponder can unlock the lock.
When unlocking the cabinet this information is automatically deleted on the
transponder.
Deleting the locked information on the transponder can also be done with the
separate accessories "Segment Cleaner".
