1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.0.1 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This is two ports Serial to Ethernet Converter Board. You can connect two serial
devices to network simultaneously using this board.
We also provide various Data Acquisition Cards with serial interfaces such as
Digital I/O Cards, Relay Driver Cards, and Analog I/O Cards etc.

2.0 SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
Unpacking the product you will find Software installation CD. Run Setup.exe from CD,
which will install the necessary software and files in to your computer. The installation
steps are as follows:
Click “OK” to continue to the next window. The software gets installed in default directory.
If you want to change the directory, click on “Change Directory” and specify the path.

Click on “Continue”
Installation is about to finish.
Click on “OK” button to finish the installation.

3.0 DEVICE CONFIGURATION
The user will have to configure the device using the configuration Utility. This utility is
provided to search, install and configure the device in a network. All settings like baud
rate, IP address, subnetmask, gateway etc. can be set using this utility. These settings
are stored in permanent flash memory of the board.
To run the utility, click on Start/Program/Millennium Following screen will appear on the
PC. Please follow the steps to install the device correctly.
Click on “Search” icon(left most), it will start searching the devices on the network and display
DIN numbers, IP address, MAC address, And operating mode of the found devices, as shown in
below screen. Click on “Search” icon will do broadcast search, that you can also select by clicking
Search->Broadcast Search

So it will display all the devices which are in the network. If you want to change the configuration
settings of any of the searched device then select that device and click on the “Configuration”
icon(Right most) or Double click on that device in the list. Look at the screen below.

So clicking on “Configuration” icon will open Configuration window, where one can change IP
address, subnet, gateway and other parameters. Shown in following window.

“Search by IP Address” is used whenever the device is outside the network and you want to
change the parameters for that device, but one should know the IP address of the device before.
Put the IP address of the device and Click “OK”.It will start searching by the IP address given and
will display the corresponding DIN, IP address etc. See the following screen

4.0 Configuration Parameters
Network Settings:
1. Host IPADDRESS: This IP address is the IP address of the PC where
the configuration utility is installed.
2. DIN: Device Identification No.(No need for users). Default: 2
3. IP ADDRESS: Put the IP address for the device u want to set. Default
192.168.0.100
4. SUBNET: put subnet mask for the device according to your network
settings. Default: 255.255.255.0
5. GATEWAY: put Gateway for the device according to your network
settings. Gateway is required only when the device is in other network
Default: 255.255.255.255
Serial Settings:
1. BAUD RATE: Baud rate for the serial device. You can configure from
1200 to 115200. Default: 9600
2. Parity: Parity you can select from NO Parity, Even Parity, and Odd
parity according to the serial device supports. Default: No Parity
3. Interface: Interface can be RS-232, RS-485 and RS-422. Default: RS-
485
4. Socket Alive Time: If there is no any activity on Ethernet for the
amount of time (in mins) specified in parameter, then device closes its
socket after time is over. Default : 1 mins.(Socket is never closed)
5. Watchdog Timeout: This timer is like Watchdog timer. So whenever
device hangs due to any reason, when watchdog timer expires it will
reset the device itself.
Work Mode:
1. Server Mode: By default mode is server mode. In this mode the
device will act as server and PC as a client.
2. Client Mode: In this mode device will act as a client and PC software
as a server. While selecting this mode you need to specify destination
IP i.e. IP address of PC to which you want to communicate.
