1 About Device
1.1 Summary
This manual provides the guidance of using M40 mobile computer and information about its accessories.
Notice: Diagrams, instructions, and procedures that are descripted in this manual is based on the OS
version at time of editing. Detailed information about device subject to change without notice.
1.2 Android Version
M40 uses Android 11。
1.3 SN (Serial Number)
Please open about device in settings, if you want to check the serial number of current device. The SN
item in the bottom of the page is serial number.
You can also follow the procedures in 6.16.6 to check serial number.
1.4 OS Version
Please open about device in settings, if you want to check the OS version of current device. The OS
version item is located in the bottom of the page.
You can also follow the procedures in 6.16.6 to check OS version.

Pull the card tray out of the device card slot and insert the Nano SIM or memory card in the correct
orientation.
Notice:
1) SIM Card 1&2 are both Nano SIM Card;
2) Preferred Network is SIM Card 1.
4.2 Install Battery
4.2.1 Battery Diagram
The battery adopts an integrated design and it supports one-button ejection function. Flick the button
above battery to remove battery. Put battery in the battery compartment and gently press the battery to
complete the installation.
4.3 Charge Method
Charging the device via USB cable: Connect the device to an electrical outlet using USB cable and power
adapter or connect the device to a PC using USB cable.
Device charging indicator shows red light indicating the battery is charging. It shows green light
indicating the battery is fully charged.
Notice: If the device is idle for long periods of time, please charge the device every two months to ensure
that stand-by power source is not over discharged.

4.4 Boot and Shutdown
Press and hold the power button in the off state until the device vibrates to turn on device.
4.4.1 Shutdown Diagram
Press and hold the power button in on state until the device pops up a dialog, then tap the "Power Off".
4.5 Factory Reset
Open the System in Settings, click the Reset option in Advanced Settings, and select Erase all data
(Factory Reset). Before restoring to factory settings, please save your data or data in the device in advance,
they will be cleared after restoring to factory settings.
You can also restore factory settings by referring to the detailed procedure in 6.15.5.

button on navigation panel.

6.1.1.2.1 Turn on Wi-Fi Automatically
Wi-Fi will turn back on near high-quality saved networks, like your home network.
6.1.1.2.2 Notify for Public Networks
Notify when a high-quality public network is available.
6.1.1.2.3 Install Certificates
Installing the WLAN certificate is generally not required. If your working environment requires the use
of digital certificates as the identity credentials for Wi-Fi devices and wireless clients, you can install the
digital certificates issued by your network administrator here.
6.1.1.2.4 Wi-Fi Direct
When you enable Wi-Fi, you can use the Wi-Fi Direct option to connect devices directly to each other
without going through an intervening wireless access point.

When you connect to an unsaved access point, you can manually set the proxy and fill out proxy hostname
and port in advanced settings.

When you select an unsaved access point in the Wi-Fi list to connect, you can set a static IP address by
selecting Static in the IP setting item in the advanced settings. When you choose to use DHCP, the device
will automatically obtain an IP address. You can also choose to use the device MAC address in the privacy
setting in the advanced settings. The device will use the factory-set static MAC address instead of using
a random MAC address.
If you want to modify the saved access point to use a static IP or static MAC address, you have to select
your saved network in the Wi-Fi list, open the network details page, select Cancel Save, and then follow
the above process to set a static IP or static MAC address while reconnecting to the access point. Or you
can modify the privacy settings by following the process in 6.16.4.
6.1.2 Mobile Network
6.1.2.1 Mobile Network Diagram
On this page, you are able to turn on or turn off mobile network. You can also configurate roaming and
VoLTE settings.
The options in 6.1.2 Mobile Network may vary depends on the Mobile Network Provider.
6.1.2.1 Mobile data
If you enable this option, it will allow device access data using mobile network.
6.1.2.2 Roaming
If you enable this option, it will allow device connect to data services when roaming.

6.1.2.3 App data usage
In this item, it shows the data usage of applications recently.
6.1.2.4 Data warning & limit
In this function, you are able to enable data warning when the data usage is approaching to the data limit
you set.
6.1.2.5 VoLTE calls
If you enable this option, you are able to make VoLTE calls. VoLTE service needs to be applied from
your operator before you turn on this menu, otherwise normal call functions may be affected.
6.1.2.6 Preferred network type
In this menu, you are able to select your preferred network type among LTE, 3G, 1x, and Global. Options
may vary depends on your operator.
6.1.2.7 Carrier video calling
If you enable this option, you are able to make video call through your carrier. Some carrier may not
support this function.
6.1.2.8 System select
You are able to change the CDMA roaming mode in this menu.
6.1.2.9 Access Point Names
You are able to select or manually add Access Point Names in this menu. Usually you do not have to
change settings in this page.

On this page, you are able to turn on airplane mode, the device will automatically turn off Wi-Fi
connection, mobile data, and Bluetooth connection. You can also turn on airplane mode by clicking on
the airplane mode button in navigation panel.

Use hotspot and tethering to provide internet to other devices through your Wi-Fi or mobile date
connection. On this page, you can also change hotspot name, security, password, AP band and whether
or not turn off hotspot automatically when no devices are connected.

Share device’s internet connection via USB.

Share device’s internet connection via Bluetooth.

6.1.6 Data Saver
6.1.6.1 Data Saver Diagram
To help reduce data usage, Data Saver prevents some apps from sending or receiving data in the
background. You can set unrestricted data to those apps so that they are allowed to use unrestricted date
when Data Saver is on.
