QUICKINSTALLATIONGUIDE

Introduction
KVM.netII isa robustcentralmanagementappliancethatprovidesreliableand
securemanagementofKVMIP devices. KVM.netII integrateswithMinicomIP
devicesandSerialconsoleserverdevicestofacilitateanintuitivelymanageable,
centralizedout-of-bandaccess portal-designedtomaintainall ITassets. KVM.net
II centralizesall useraccountinformationrelevantforIP deviceadministration
withoutinterferinginthestand-alonesurvivabilityofeachdevice.
Pre-installationguidelines
Preparealistofall KVM.netII systemcomponents. Youwillneedthisinformation
toconfigurethesystem.
Theattachedsheetcontains2listsofallthedetailsyouneedtoprepareforMinicom
KVM/IP devicesandPXunits(notPXSerial). Photocopyorprintitout.
ThelistsshouldincludetheIP devicenameandMACaddress, KVMswitchandthe
Targetdetails.
ForeachTarget, list:
•Auniqueandclearlyidentifiablename
•Theoperatingsystem
•Non-defaultmousesettings. Defaultmousesettingsdonotneedtobelisted
ConfiguringKVM/IPdevicestobeKVM.netenabled
RefertotheUserGuideofeachKVM/IP deviceandconfigurethemtobeKVM.net
enabled.
ConnectingtheKVM.netIIManager
1.ConnecttheKVM.netII Managertothenetworkasfollows:Ontherearpanel
connectanEthernetcabletoLAN1. ConnecttheotherendoftheEthernetcable
tothenetworkswitch.
2.ConnecttheKVM.netII Managertoa powersupplyoutlet.
3.Press thePowerbutton toswitchontheKVM.netII Manager.Thepower
indicatorsilluminate.
4.InstalltheBezel.

KVM.netIIManager’sdefaultnetworkparameters
EachKVM.netII Managerunitcomeswiththefollowing network defaultvalues:
IP address -192.168.1.250.
Subnetmask-255.255.255.0
Gateway-192.168.1.1
If thesevaluesarenotsuitableforyournetwork, followthestepsbelowtodisplay
theKVM.netII interfaceand changethe networkparameters oftheKVM.netII
Manager.
LoggingintotheKVM.netIIwebinterface
1.OpenyourWebbrowser(InternetExplorerversion6.0orhigher).
2.TypeintheIP address oftheKVM.netII Manager(defaultIPaddress
https://192.168.1.250) and press Enter. (Changeyourcomputernetworksettings,
ifnecessary). TheLoginpageappears.
3.Typetheloginname admin andpassword access.
4.Press Enter. TheWebinterfaceappears,seeFigure1.
