MINOX DM 1
THE AUDIOVISUAL MULTI-TALENT
MINOX has rewritten the term ”multimedia” with
the DM1 which combines no less than nine diffe-
rent functions in one tool: a camcorder, a digital
camera, MP3 and video player, webcam, dictaphone,
flash memory, SD card reader and a LED spot. This
compact multifunctional digital tool is housed
in a flat and elegant metal body measuring just
17 mm and weighing no more than 94 grams. The
highlight is the integrated high-resolution two inch
TFT display which turns the DM 1 into a portable
video studio.
The name of MINOX is well known as a synonym
for the miniaturization of sophisticated technology
harmonizing design and functionality. The DM1 is
a multimedia tool that leaves practically no wish
unfulfilled when it comes to style and application
possibilities. The flat and compact housing with the
release button on the side enables convenient and
ergonomic one-hand operation. The high quality
multi-coated glass lens can be turned through 230
degrees. This allows the user to adjust interesting
positions and angles for shooting pictures or film.
By turning the lens right through it is even possible
to take self portraits and reverse shots and view
yourself in the display at the same time. When the
lens is not required it can be ”parked” inside the
body, protecting it against dust and scratches.
Pin sharp digital images rich in detail are provided
by the image sensor of the MINOX DM1with a
resolution of 3.2 million pixels – which can be
interpolated to 6.0 million pixels in the photo
mode. In bad light conditions a high power LED
spot, which can also be used as a small torch,
provides the right illumination. The digital images
can be optionally stored on the integrated 128 MB
Flash Memory or on a SD- or MMC-card. The slot
for the card simultaneously serves as a reading
device – for playing external video data or music
in MP3 format, for example. The DM1 can also be
used as a USB stick with the provided data cable.
MPEG 4 videos taken with the camcorder can be
played anywhere at any time, and can also be
copied to external equipment using the provided
interface. The integrated high power microphone
is used to record sound during filming or for voice
recording in the dictaphone mode. The power supply
comes from a high-power and compact Li-Ion bat-
tery (same design as a Nokia mobile phone battery)
which is optionally charged using the power pack
or via the USB interface of a computer.
The scope of delivery of the MINOX DM1 includes
the Li-Ion battery, the mains adapter, an USB cable,
a protective sheath and headphones.
