• Wheninstallingorrelocating,orservicingtheairconditioner,useonlythe
specifiedrefrigerant(R410A)tochargetherefrigerantlines.Donotmixit
withanyotherrefrigerantanddonotallowairtoremaininthelines.
Ifairismixedwiththerefrigerant,thenitcanbethecauseofabnormalhigh
pressureintherefrigerantline,andmayresultinanexplosionandother
hazards.
Theuseofanyrefrigerantotherthanthatspecifiedforthesystemwillcause
mechanicalfailureorsystemmalfunctionorunitbreakdown.Intheworst
case,thiscouldleadtoaseriousimpedimenttosecuringproductsafety.
1.1. Beforeinstallation(Environment)
Caution:
• Donotusetheunitinanunusualenvironment.Iftheairconditioneris
installedinareasexposedtosteam,volatileoil(includingmachineoil),or
sulfuricgas,areasexposedtohighsaltcontentsuchastheseaside,the
performancecanbesignificantlyreducedandtheinternalpartscanbe
damaged.
• Donotinstalltheunitwherecombustiblegasesmayleak,beproduced,
flow,oraccumulate.Ifcombustiblegasaccumulatesaroundtheunit,fire
orexplosionmayresult.
• Donotkeepfood,plants,cagedpets,artwork,orprecisioninstrumentsin
thedirectairflowoftheindoorunitortooclosetotheunitastheseitems
canbedamagedbytemperaturechangesordrippingwater.
• Whentheroomhumidityexceeds80%orwhenthedrainpipeisclogged,
watermaydripfromtheindoorunit.Donotinstalltheindoorunitwhere
suchdrippingcancausedamage.
• Wheninstallingtheunitinahospitalorcommunicationsoffice,be
preparedfornoiseandelectronicinterference.Inverters,homeappliances,
high-frequencymedicalequipment,andradiocommunicationsequipment
cancausetheairconditionertomalfunctionorbreakdown.Theair
conditionermayalsoaffectmedicalequipment,disturbingmedicalcare,
andcommunicationsequipment,harmingthescreendisplayquality.
1. Safetyprecautions
After installation work has been completed, explain the “Safety precautions,” use,
and maintenance of the unit to the customer according to the information in the
Operation Manual and perform the test run to ensure normal operation. Both the
Installation Manual and Operation Manual must be given to the user for keeping.
These manuals must be passed on to subsequent users.

1.4. Beforestartingthetestrun
Caution:
• Turnonthemainpowerswitchmorethan12hoursbeforestartingoperation.
Startingoperationjustafterturningonthepowerswitchcanseverelydamage
theinternalparts.
• Beforestartingoperation,checkthatallpanels,guardsandotherprotective
partsarecorrectlyinstalled.Rotating,hot,orhighvoltagepartscancause
injuries.
• Donotoperatetheairconditionerwithouttheairfiltersetinplace.Iftheair
filterisnotinstalled,dustmayaccumulateandbreakdownmayresult.
• Donottouchanyswitchwithwethands.Electricshockmayresult.
• Donottouchtherefrigerantpipeswithbarehandsduringoperation.
• Afterstoppingoperation,besuretowaitatleastfiveminutesbeforeturning
off the main power switch. Otherwise, water leakage orbreakdown may
result.
1.3. Beforeelectricwork
Caution:
• Besuretoinstallmoldedcasecircuitbrakers.Ifnotinstalled,electricshock
mayresult.
• Forthepowerlines,usestandardcablesofsufficientcapacity.Otherwise,a
shortcircuit,overheating,orfiremayresult.
• Wheninstallingthepowerlines,donotapplytensiontothecables.
• Besuretogroundtheunit.Iftheunitisnotproperlygrounded,electricshock
mayresult.
• Use circuit breakers (ground fault interrupter, isolating switch (+B fuse),
andmoldedcasecircuitbreaker)withthespecifiedcapacity.Ifthecircuit
breakercapacityislargerthanthespecifiedcapacity,breakdownorfiremay
result.
1.2. Beforeinstallationorrelocation

• Be extremely careful when transporting the units. Two or more persons
areneededtohandletheunitasitweighs20kgormore.Donotgraspthe
packagingbands.Wearprotectiveglovesasyoucaninjureyourhandson
thefinsorotherparts.
• Besuretosafelydisposeofthepackagingmaterials.Packagingmaterials,
suchasnailsandothermetalorwoodenpartsmaycausestabsorother
injuries.
• Thermalinsulationoftherefrigerantpipeisnecessarytopreventcondensation.
Iftherefrigerantpipeisnotproperlyinsulated,condensationwillbeformed.
• Placethermalinsulationonthepipestopreventcondensation.Ifthe
drainpipeisinstalledincorrectly,waterleakageanddamagetotheceiling,
floor,furniture,orotherpossessionsmayresult.
• Donotcleantheairconditionerunitwithwater.Electricshockmayresult.
• Tightenallflarenutstospecificationusingatorquewrench.Iftightened
toomuch,theflarenutcanbreakafteranextendedperiod.
