10 PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
The filtering resin system of this machine will remove 99% of total dissolved salts (TDS) from the
supply water. If the supply water used contains 100 parts per million (ppm) of TDS, the water
obtained from filtration will contain 1 ppm of TDS.
The machine will produce a volume of demineralised water equal to the volume of incoming water.
The micro filter removes coarse particles from the water.
The activated carbon filter eliminates chlorine from the supply water. The activated carbon filter can
only retain a limited amount of chlorine and should be replaced approximately every 15,000 litres of
filtered water.
The resins contained in the bottle of the machine treat the remaining salts dissolved in the water
using the ion exchange principle.
If the equipment is not used for long periods it is always necessary to prevent the development of
algae and bacteria in the filters due to stagnant water.
The machine must be protected against frost.
11 CONNECTION TO THE WATER MAINS
It is recommended to use the machine supplied with mains water. The machine must be used in a
vertical position as stable as possible in the workplace using the parking stand at the rear of the
machine. If possible, choose a location close to the water tap. Extendable garden hoses can be used
as long as they have an internal diameter of 13mm or more to minimise loss of line pressure.
Max. temperature of the supply water: 30°C
•Workplace temperature between 4° and 40°C; not in the immediate vicinity of a heating
system.
•Do not install in the near of heat sources or in a place exposed to direct sunlight.
•Purified water is, depending on the composition of the incoming water, more or less
aggressive.
•For this reason, the parts that come into contact with the purified water must be made of
a suitable non-corrosive material, such as glass, plastic. Copper and other non-ferrous
metals are not suitable.

15 CLEANING OF COATED OR PAINTED SURFACES
The use of pressurised water on glued parts may cause them to detach. Do not use the appliance
on wooden floors or on parquet that is not well sealed.
Pay attention to the cleaning of doors, parquet, surfaces painted or coated with synthetic products,
aluminium panels.
Before using high pressure water, we recommend to make a test on a part of the surface not in
sight, to avoid damages or alterations during cleaning.
16 CLEANING OF GLASS SURFACES AND PHOTOVOLTAIC PANELS
To avoid damaging the sealing of the frames, do not direct the flow of water directly towards the
sealed points of the glazed surfaces.
DO NOT clean the photovoltaic panels without first switching off the power to the system.
DANGER OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
17 MAINTENANCE
Carry out all work and maintenance phases in accordance with the current legislation on
occupational health and safety
Carry out all maintenance operations with the machine switched off and making sure that
the machine is in a stable and easily accessible position.
Only what is authorised in this instruction booklet may be carried out by the user. Any other
intervention is prohibited.
Turn off the machine before carrying out any maintenance work. Failure to comply with these
instructions releases the manufacturer from any liability.
18 CLEANING
Do not use direct water jets to clean the machine. Only use a damp cloth.
Clean all accessories thoroughly after each use.
19 LINE FILTER
Clean the stainless steel cartridge of the line filter (10 Fig. 2) before each use.
20 ACTIVATED CARBON
Replace the filter cartridge (9 Fig. 2) every approximately 15,000 litres of water used.
The level of dissolved salts in the supply water can vary from location to location as the water comes
from different sources. This also affects the maintenance period of the water supply filtering
components.
Check the water quality every day to see if it has changed.

Use and maintenance manual
16
Filtering resin system
21 MAINTENANCE AND REPLACEMENT OF CYLINDERS
It is not possible to predict precisely when to replace resins because each water source has a
different chemical composition that affects the longevity of the resins in a different way.
The only way to determine when to replace the resins is to continuously monitor the quality of the
water produced.
Resins must be replaced approximately every 4000 litres in case of use with inlet water at 200ppm
(20°F).
If the conductivity meter displays a value >50ppm (5°F), it means that the resins are exhausted.
They can be replaced in two ways: either by replacing the charge in the bottle with one supplied by
us in bags, or by replacing the bottle with a spare.
1. Close the supply water tap.
2. Remove pressure from the system by opening tap B (11 Fig. 2) to drain water.
3. Remove the bottle from the cart by loosening the fitting (4 Fig 1) and removing the bottle
holder strap (6 Fig 1).
4. The replacement of the bottle or of the resins inside it can be managed through the M.M.
srl. sales network.
Please be aware that the water comes out from the hoses during disassembly!
Disused resins must be disposed of in accordance with current regulations by mean of
appropriate waste disposal organisms.

Use and maintenance manual
Filtering resin system
17
22 PROLONGED NON-USE OF THE MACHINE
If the equipment is not used for long periods, this is important. It is necessary to prevent the
development of algae and bacteria due to stagnant water.
23 STORAGE
In case of storage of the machine, it must be placed in the warehouse in ventilated rooms,
protected from dust. The parts delivered must remain packaged until the final installation.
All machine parts subject to the risk of oxidation at the time of dispatch are adequately protected
with greasing and protective sprays to prevent oxidation by atmospheric agents.
In case of prolonged inactivity, the machine must be stored with the precautions regarding to
the storage place and time:
1. store the machine in a closed place
2. protect the machine from shocks and stresses
3. protect the machine from humidity and excessive temperature changes
4. prevent the machine from coming into contact with corrosive substances
5. check that the packaging has not been damaged and that it is perfectly dry
6. In particular, if the machine is placed inside a container, the storage area must be
covered and protected from direct weather agents, such as rain, snow and hail, and must
be accessible only to authorised personnel.
The machine has been designed to withstand the temperatures, humidity and vibrations during
transport and storage.
The storage temperature is meant as short-term values such as transport. Condensation or
freezing normally occurs in places where temperature changes are high. Although the relative
humidity in such cases may be within the values given in the table, it is necessary to avoid such
places.
