1 Safety instructions
1.1 General safety
zDo not operate the device if it is visibly damaged.
zEnsure that the ventilation slots are not covered.
zThis device may only be repaired by qualified personnel.
Inadequate repairs can lead to considerable hazards.
zElectronic devices are not toys.
Always keep and use the device out of the reach of children.
zFood may only be stored in its original packaging or in suitable
containers.
zThe cooling device is not suitable for transporting caustic
materials or materials containing solvents.
zPersons (including children) whose physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge prevents them
from using the appliance safely should not use this appliance
without initial supervision or instruction by a responsible person.
zOnly connect the device as follows:
– With the 220-240 V connection cable supplied to a 220-
240 V mains power supply
– With the 12 V cable supplied to a 12 V socket

zDo not pull the plug out of the cigarette lighter or the socket by
the cable.
zIf the connection cable is damaged, it must be replaced to pre-
vent possible electrical hazards. This can only be repaired by an
authorised customer services unit.
zPull out the connection cable:
– Before cleaning and maintenance
– After use
zOn boats: if the device is powered by the mains, ensure that the
power supply has a ground fault interrupter circuit. Danger of
fatal injuries!
zDisconnect the cooling device and other power consuming
devices from the battery before connecting the quick charging
device.
zCheck that the voltage specification on the type plate corre-
sponds to that of the energy supply.
1.2 Operating the device safely
zBefore starting the device, ensure that the power supply cable
and the plug are dry.
zDo not place the device near naked flames or other heat
sources (heaters, direct sunlight, gas ovens etc.)
zCaution! Danger of overheating!
Ensure at all times that there is sufficient ventilation so that the
heat that arises during operation does not build up. Make sure
that the device is sufficiently far away from walls and other
objects so that the air can circulate.
zDo not fill the inner container with ice or fluid.
zNever immerse the device in water.
zProtect the device and the cable against heat and moisture.
zDo not touch exposed cables with your bare hands. This
especially applies when operating the device with an AC mains
power supply. Danger of fatal injuries!
zThe manufacturer cannot be held liable for damage resulting
from improper usage or incorrect operation.

2 Intended use
The cooler is suitable for cooling foodstuffs.
If your device has the additional equipment for warming, you can heat up
foodstuffs or keep them warm. There is a switch to change between heat-
ing and cooling modes.
The device has been designed for use with a 12 V DC on-board power supply
socket of a car (cigarette lighter), boat or caravan as well as a 220-240 V AC
mains supply.
If you wish to cool medicines, please check if the cooling capacity
of the device is suitable for the medicine in question.
3 Scope of delivery
For versions with the additional insulating lid:
4 Technical description
The cooler is suitable for mobile use. If can cool goods to max. 20 °C under
the ambient temperature or keep them cool.
Its cooling system is a non-wearing and CFC-free Peltier cooling, the heat is
discharged by a fan.

4.1 Optional accessories
The device is available in different versions. The version you bought may
have the following additional features:
zHeating
The contents of your cooler can be warmed or kept warm to max. 65 °C.
zABS (activatable battery protection)
An integrated battery monitor can be switched on to protect your vehicle
battery from discharging to dangerously low levels (see “Using the bat-
tery monitor” chapter on page 10).
zInsulating lid
Insulating lid as an alternative to the unit lid for transporting (not for cool-
ing)
4.2 Description of the device
5 Operation
Before starting your new cooling device for the first time, you
should clean it inside and outside with a damp cloth for hygienic
reasons (please also refer to the “Cleaning and maintenance”
chapter on page 11).
5.1 Energy saving tips
zChoose a well ventilated installation location which is protected against
direct sunlight.
zAllow warm food to cool down first before placing it in the device to keep
cool.
zDo not open the cooling device more often than necessary.
zDo not leave the lid open for longer than necessary.

5.2 Using the cooler
The lid of the cool box must always be secured with the lock when
loading and unloading (6, page 4). If the lid is fully open without
being secured, the box could tip over.
If the handle is folded back of if the cooler is being carried, the lid
is locked (7A, page 4). You can only open the lid when the han-
dle is folded forwards (7B, page 4).
Like every cooling device, your cooler must be properly ventilated
so that any heat created can dissipate. Otherwise proper function-
ing cannot be ensured.
➤Place the cooler on a firm base.
➤Connect the 12 V connection cable (21, page 3) into the cigarette
lighter socket or a 12 V socket in the vehicle
or
➤Plug the 220-240 V connection cable (22, page 3) into the AC voltage
socket and connect it to the 220-240 V AC mains supply.
Switch off the battery monitor (32, page 3, ABS accessory) (OFF
position).
➤Only on versions with the additional heating feature: Push the switch
(43, page 3) on the control panel to "COLD" or "HOT" to switch on the
cooler.
✓The indicators on the control panel show you the operating mode:
✓The cooler starts cooling/heating the interior
Ensure that the objects placed in the cooler are suitable for cooling
to the selected temperature.
➤If you wish to switch the cooler off:
– Slide the switch (43, page 3) to the “OFF” position (only with the
heating accessory)
– Pull out the connection cable

5.3 Using the battery monitor
(Only on versions with the additional ABS feature)
If you operate your cooler with the 220-240 V AC mains supply,
switch off the battery monitor.
➤Push the switch (32, page 3) on the operating panel to “ON” to switch
on the battery monitor.
✓The red LED (31, page 3) on the operating panel displays the status of
the battery monitor:
➤Push the switch (32, page 3) on the operating panel to “OFF” to switch
off the battery monitor.
5.4 Changing the lid
(Only on versions with the additional insulating lid feature)
As an alternative to the unit lid, you can use an insulating lid when transport-
ing the cooler.
➤Fold the handle of the cooler forwards.
➤Open the lid until it is vertical and then remove it by lifting it upwards.
➤Place the insulating lid with the guide lugs into the slots on the cooler.
Please remember: the insulating led is only suitable for trans-
port and not for cooling.

and the cooler is in operation.
LED flashes The switch-off voltage (11.7 V ± 0.2 V) has been
reached and the battery monitor has switched off
the cooler.
