General
EPP can be glued with many adhesives, e.g. UHU Por (very elastic), 5 min epoxy (high bond strength, very hard
not to be recommended,) or super glue (very light, brittle). We recommend PU glue, because this is very gap-l-
ling, which is important for sticking in the spars. For embedding RC components into the EPP, you transfer before
the contour with a pen on the EPP. Then you cut with a knife along the contour, about a millimeter more inwardly
oset. The notch should always be slightly narrower than the components so you need only few glue. The notches
can also be milled with a multitool mill. Power cables can be pushed into a slot which gets drawn with a sharp
knife.
To avoid a deforming, the wings have to be put into the negatives during the hardening of the glue. It is important
to make it up and down a strip of tape over the slot, as the glue may seep through the EPP, and then you would
not get the part from the negative. Thus, the polyurethane glue foams better it is recommended to be wetted with
water.
Before ironing of the laminating lm, it is recommended to sand EPP parts (eg 240 grit). This improves the surface
and the lm links better to the EPP. It is recommended to leave some laminating lm beyond the trailing edge and
cut it straight with a metal ruler and a sharp knife. We get a very sharp trailing edge, which signicantly contributes
to the good ying qualities.
First steps
First the milled parts get seperated from the arches and the magnets get glued into the wooden ribs.
Fuselage
The 6mm CFK tubes and the wooden ribs get glued into the
cutouts of the fuselage halves. During the hardening of the
glue, it is important that the pars lay on a straight panel. On
the inner side the cutouts for the receiver and the batterie
are maden. All components get placed as much forward
as possible, the avoid less additional weight for the CG.
The servos for the tail can be placed near the tail or in the
front of the fuselage. In the second case, the linkage can be
put into the CFK rods. At the end the halves can be glued
together and the lamination lm can be ironed.
