Introduction
The Modulus Remote Control is a multi-function controller for the Modulus All-In-One Media System
(MMS). With its air mouse capabilities, voice control and rear-panel QWERTY keyboard, the Modulus Remote
Control makes it easy to configure and control the MMS and to play and enjoy live, recorded and streaming
media of all types. You can even use the Modulus Remote Control as a universal remote for your TV or other
devices. Enjoy!
Unpack the Modulus Remote Control
The Remote Control comes packed with its Charging Cradle, Power Supply and USB Receiver/Dongle
in a separate box inside the MMS carton.

USB Receiver/Dongle

Page 2
Charge the Modulus Remote Control
Connect the Remote Control’s Power Supply to the rear of its Charging Cradle. Place the Remote
Control in the Cradle with its Front Panel facing outwards to begin charging. The Remote Control’s Charging
Indicator will glow red during charging and extinguish when charging is complete.
Note: The Remote Control will require at least 30 minutes charge to function properly. A longer charging time
is better (4-6 hours is ideal). After performing the MMS initial set-up, let the Remote Control charge overnight.

Turn on the Modulus Remote Control
The Modulus Remote Control ships in a power off state. Once the Remote Control is fully charged, turn
it on by holding down the INFO Button until the blue Wireless Signal Indicator LED flashes repeatedly.

Install the USB Receiver/Dongle
Note: Perform this step before connecting the MMS to its power supply.
Plug the USB Receiver/Dongle into any of the four USB ports on the rear of the MMS.
Figure 4: MMS Rear Panel with USB Ports, Power Connector and Power Switch
Note: The Modulus Remote Control communicates with its USB Receiver/Dongle over an RF link. In most
cases, this link will function properly. However, when the MMS is mounted in a metal rack you may need to use
a USB extension cable and mount the USB Receiver/Dongle outside the rack.

Short-Press vs. Long-Press
Many of the Modulus Remote Control’s Buttons have two functions accessed by a short-press vs. a
long-press. This is very similar to the operation of your smart phone where a tap (short-press) activates a
different function from a tap-and-hold (long-press). The following table explains the two functions of each
Button.
