Bedienungsanleitung
Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Kauf von ELODY –
der elektrisierend coolen Blockflöte!
Das Instrument beinhaltet verschiedene neue Features
und ist auf zweierlei Arten spielbar:
akustisch sowie als E-Blockflöte.
Damit Sie die Möglichkeiten der ELODY voll ausschöpfen
können und Schäden zuverlässig vermieden werden,
bitten wir Sie um Beachtung der nachfolgenden Informati-
onen.
Zusammenstecken und Auseinandernehmen des
Instruments
Sorgen Sie dafür, dass die Zapfenverbindungen mit dem
im Lieferumfang enthaltenen Zapfenfett geschmeidig
gehalten werden.Tragen Sie dafür auf die Korkverbindung
und ggf. die Zapfenherzen ein wenig Zapfenfett auf und
verteilen es mit dem Finger rundherum. Kombinieren Sie
die Flötenteile immer in leichter Drehung im Uhrzeiger-
sinn. Achten Sie darauf, dass Sie dieTeile dabei absolut
gerade zueinander halten und niemals gegeneinander
verkanten! Reparaturen von durch Verkantung entstande-
nen Rissen in den Zapfen oder in dem Zapfenherz fallen
nicht unter Garantieleistungen.

Congratulations on your purchase of Elody –
the electrifyingly cool recorder.
The instrument has several new features and can be
played in two ways: acoustically and as an electric
recorder.
So that you can make the most of your Elody and avoid
any damage we ask you to read the following instructions
carefully.
Assembling and dismantling the instrument:
Please ensure that the tenon joints are kept supple by
using the enclosed joint grease. Apply a little joint grease
to the cork joints, to the inside of the tenon sockets, and
spread it evenly over both surfaces with your finger.
Always assemble the recorder by gently turning the parts
clockwise. Please make sure that the parts are in line and
not at an angle. Repairs to cracks in the joints resulting
from incorrect assembling are not covered by our warranty.
Key mechanism
Recorders with keys require special attention: when
assembling your recorder or taking it apart avoid touching
the keywork; place your hands above or below, so as not

los läuft, braucht sie einenTropfen Öl, den Sie zwischen
die Scharniere geben. Nehmen Sie dafür ausschließlich
Mechaniköl (Best.-Nr. 6136).
Auf keinen Fall organische Öle bzw. sogenanntes
Blockflötenöl auftragen, das ausschließlich für die Pflege
unlackierten Holzes zu verwenden ist!
Auswischen des Instruments
Halten Sie die Innenbohrung des Instrumentes so trocken
wie möglich. Sich dort ansammelndes Kondenswasser
stört die Funktionalität des Instrumentes beim Spielen.
Wischen Sie daher das Instrument in Spielpausen mit
einem fusselfreien Baumwolltuch mit dem mitgelieferten
Wischerstab trocken.
Nach jedem Spielen sollte das Instrument komplett
ausgewischt und dieTeile, wie vorgese-
hen, getrennt ins Etui zumTrocknen
zurückgelegt werden.
Lassen Sie dazu den Deckel des Etuis
nach Möglichkeit eineWeile geöffnet.
Ausblasen des Instruments nach
dem Spielen
Vergessen Sie nicht, nach dem Musizie-
ren das imWindkanal angesammelte

or quietly it may require a drop of oil in the moving parts.
Please, only use light machine oil (Order No. 6136). Never
use organic or recorder oil, as this is only intended for the
maintenance of unvarnished wood.
Drying the instrument after playing
Keep the bore as dry as possible. Droplets caused by
condensation drying in the bore are detrimental to the
functioning of the instrument when playing.Therefore, it
is important to wipe out the instrument with a lint-free
cotton cloth using the included cleaning rod.
The instrument should be carefully wiped out every time
after playing and each part put back into its compartment
in the case to dry. If possible, the lid of the case should be
left open for a while.
Blowing out the instrument after playing
After playing do not forget to blow out the condensation
that has collected in the wind-
way.To do so, hold the palm of
your hand against the open end
of the head joint, place your
mouth over the labium and
blow strongly (the moisture
will escape from the top of the
windway). Some players place
their fingers on the labium
while blowing through the
windway.

Kondenswasser auszublasen. Hierzu verschließen Sie
den Flötenkopf am Zapfenherz mit der flachen Hand und
blasen denWindkanal von der Labiumseite her kräftig
durch. Manche Spieler blasen denWindkanal durch, indem
sie den Finger auf das Labium legen. Davon raten wir
dringend ab: Auf keinen Fall darf das Labium dabei mit
dem Fingernagel in Berührung kommen, weil dadurch
seine empfindliche Kante beschädigt werden könnte!
Kombinationsblock aus Synpor/Holz
Dieser spezielle Block sorgt für ein zuverlässiges Spielen
der ELODY. Der Synpor-Kern nimmt Kondenswasser auf,
ohne zu quellen. Um die Funktionalität des Materials zu
erhalten, achten Sie darauf, dass derWindkanal fettfrei
bleibt.
Synpor hat eine etwas geringere Elastizität wie Holz.
Sorgen Sie deshalb dafür, dass dieses Material keinen
äußerlichen Belastungen ausgesetzt wird (z. B. durch
unachtsame Stöße mit derWischerstange).
Tonabnehmer und Kabel
DasTonabnehmersystem ist komplett in die seitliche
Wandung des Flötenkopfes eingebaut. Da dieser durch
eine besondere Dämmung und weicheVerklebung darin
fixiert ist, darf derTonabnehmer nicht selbstständig
entfernt werden. Üben Sie so wenig mechanischen Druck
wie möglich auf denTonabnehmer aus.
Die Membran desTonabnehmers zeigt nach innen in
das Flötenrohr. Sie ist gegen Feuchtigkeit durch eine
Lackschicht geschützt.
We strongly discourage this: the labium must not come
into contact with the fingernails because the labium’s
delicate edge is very easily damaged.
Block from a synpor/wood combination
This special block makes playing ELODY very reliable.The
block’s core, made from synpor, absorbs condensation
without swelling.To maintain the functionality of the
material, please ensure that the windway remains grease
free. Synpor has a slightly lower elasticity than wood.
Therefore you should ensure that this material is not
subjected to external stress (for instance careless hitting
with the cleaning rod).
Pickup and Cable
The pickup system is fully integrated into the side of the
recorder’s head-joint. Because this has been fixed with a

Um eine lange einwandfreie Funktion zu gewährleisten,
achten Sie bitte darauf, dass das Kabel nicht geknickt wird
und kein starker Zug auf die Kabelstecker ausgeübt wird.
Zur Aufbewahrung wickeln Sie das Kabel in Schlaufen
zu einer passenden Größe, so dass jede Schlaufe ohne
Verdrehungen und Spannungen in der Hand liegt.
Wenn Sie die ELODY elektroakustisch einsetzen möchten,
schließen Sie den kleinen Kabelstecker an die Buchse des
Tonabnehmers an. Mit dem 6,3 mm Klinkenstecker kann
die ELODY dann mit allen gängigen Multi-Effekt-Geräten
undVerstärkern mit hoher Eingangsimpedanz verbunden
werden (z. B. Gitarren-Effektgeräte, Looper, Aktiv-DI-
Boxen, Akustik-Verstärker usw.). Für optimalen Klang und
hohen Ausgangspegel sollte die Eingangsimpedanz des
Gerätes an dem die Flöte angeschlossen wird mindestens
500 kOhm betragen. Beschädigt wird derTonabnehmer

If you would like to use the ELODY electro-acoustically,
attach the small plug of the cable to the socket of the pick-
up.The 6.3mm mini-jack will connect the ELODY to any
standard multi effects unit and amplifier with high input

durch zu niederohmigen Anschluss jedoch nicht.
Bei Bedarf kann das Anschlusskabel mit einer Klinken-
kupplung durch jedes normale Gitarrenkabel problemlos
verlängert werden.
Achten Sie beim Anschließen des Klinkensteckers darauf,
dass das elektronische Equipment ausgeschaltet ist oder
die Lautstärke auf Minimum eingestellt ist.
Die Klang- und Lautstärkeregelung wird ausschließlich
mit den zugeschalteten Geräten vorgenommen. Beachten
Sie, dass der eingebauteTonabnehmer passiv arbeitet und
demnach keinerleiVersorgungsspannung benötigt.
Der Garantieanspruch erlischt bei unsachgemäßer Hand-
habung, mechanischer oder elektrischer Beschädigung
durch missbräuchliche Anwendung.

Bewegungsfreiheit
Wenn Sie mit der ELODY druckvolle und ausdrucksvolle
Musik spielen und sich dabei viel bewegen sollten, achten
Sie bitte darauf, dass Sie genügend Bewegungsfreiheit
haben und mit dem Instrument nirgends anstoßen (es be-
steht ansonstenVerletzungsgefahr für Lippen und Zähne).

and high volume the minimum input impedance of the
unit that the recorder is connected to should be 500 kOhm.
However, no damage will be caused if the connecting unit
is of lower resistance.

while connecting the mini jack.
The sound or volume control is carried out solely via the
connected equipment. Please be aware that the built-in
pickup is passive and does not require a power supply. The
warranty will be invalidated by inappropriate operation
and mechanical or electrical damage caused by misuse.

Mobility
If you play very lively or expressive music on the ELODY
requiring you to moving about, please make sure that you
have sufficient clear space around you to avoid the instru-
ment bumping into other equipment (there is a danger of
damage to lips and teeth).

Pflege
ELODY besitzt außen wie innen eine durch Lacke versiegel-
te Oberfläche. Das Instrument darf deshalb nicht geölt
werden. Da die Außenfläche imWesentlichen komplett
undurchlässig ist, dringen Handfett und Schmutz nicht ins
Holz ein, sondern lagern sich auf der Oberfläche ab. Die
Oberfläche sollte daher gelegentlich gesäubert werden.
Verwenden Sie hierfür am besten ein weiches Baumwoll-
tuch oder ein sanftes Mikrofasertuch, welche den Lack
nicht verkratzen.
Schutz vor Temperaturschwankungen
Schützen Sie Ihre Flöte vor größerenTemperatur-
schwankungen, die zu Spannungsrissen führen können.
Vermeiden Sie Hitzeeinwirkung, zum Beispiel im Auto
oder auf dem Fensterbrett, denn das zur Imprägnierung
verwendete Paraffin könnte ausschmelzen und die Flöte
dadurch irreparabel beschädigen.
Garantieerklärung
Dieses Instrument wurde aus hochwertigen Materialien
hergestellt und sorgfältig überprüft.
Wir gewähren deshalb eine Garantie von zwei Jahren.
Innerhalb dieser Frist nehmen wir Überarbeitungen oder
einen Austausch betreffenderTeile vor, vorausgesetzt, dass
es sich nicht um die Folgen unsachgemäßen Gebrauchs
handelt. Diese Zusage gilt nur beiVorlage eines datierten
Kaufbeleges.
Maintenance
ELODY’s surface has a protective varnish inside and out.
Therefore the instrument must not be oiled. Because the
outside is very nearly non-absorbent, oil from hands and
dirt will not be absorbed into the wood but will remain on
the surface. For this reason the surface should be cleaned
from time to time. A soft cotton cloth or a micro-fibre wipe
that does not scratch the varnish is best suited for this.
Protection from changes in temperature
Protect your recorder from extreme changes in tempe-
rature that can lead to pressure cracks. Avoid exposing
it to heat, for instance by leaving it in the car or on a
windowsill, because the paraffin oil used for impregnation
may melt and cause irreparable damage to the recorder.
Warranty
This instrument was produced using high-quality
materials and has been carefully checked. It is therefore
guaranteed for two years.Within this time limit we carry
out corrections or exchange of parts provided that the
necessary repair is not caused by inappropriate use.
This cover is only valid on production of a dated receipt of
purchase.
