CONNECTING
your TERRAPIN X to a KESTREL with LiNK

Please make sure that
your KESTREL device
always has the latest
firmware version installed.

• By pressing and releasing the push button of your TERRAPIN X you turn on the device
• You will now see the digital aiming reticle in the display of your TERRAPIN X

• Press and release the push button of your TERRAPIN X three times in quick succession to enter the Bluetooth menu
• In the display you will see the last saved setting. This can either be “OFF”, “APP” or “hESt” (for KESTREL)

• Toggle through the options by pressing and releasing the push button of your TERRAPIN X until you reach “hESt”

• Confirm this setting by pressing and releasing the push button three times in quick succession
• As confirmation four dashes (“----“) will appear in the display of your TERRAPIN X
• Besides the electronic aiming reticle you will now also see a flashing Bluetooth symbol in the
display of your TERRAPIN X. This signifies that the TERRAPIN X has entered the pairing mode

• Now turn on your KESTREL with LiNK
• Push the options button (symbolized by a “gear wheel”) on your KESTREL
• Select “Bluetooth” and then “Name New”
• The KESTREL will now search for a compatible device

• When the KESTREL has found your TERRAPIN X select it and exit the menu by pushing the options
button (symbolized by a “gear wheel”)
• Now turn “Lock” to “On” and save this setting by pushing the red button of your KESTREL
• Exit the Bluetooth menu by pushing the options button (symbolized by a “gear wheel”) twice

• You will now see a Bluetooth symbol in the KESTREL display signifiyng that it is connected with your TERRAPIN X
• In the display of your TERRAPIN X the Bluetooth symbol won’t flash anymore but will now be displayed continuously
Your TERRAPIN X and KESTREL weather meter are now connected.

Please note:
After having saved the KESTREL setting in the Bluetooth menu of your TERRAPIN X and in
case you have already established a connection before, the TERRAPIN X will, upon power
up, re-establish the connection. This is indicated by a blinking BT symbol which turns steady
once connection is established.
Please also note:
It may take up to 15 sec until a connection between the KESTREL with LiNK and your
TERRAPIN X is established. During this period measurements might not be successfully
transferred to .
