SAFETY WARNINGS AND GUIDELINES
•This device is intended for indoor use only.
•Do not expose this device to water or moisture of any kind. Do not place drinks or
other containers with moisture on or near the device. If moisture does get in or on
the device, immediately disconnect it from all equipment and allow it to fully dry
before reuse.

INTRODUCTION
This Blackbird™ 4K 1x2 HDMI® Splitter allows you to view the same HDMI video content on
two displays at the same time. It supports a data bandwidth of 18Gbps, which allows it to
handle all High Speed HDMI features, including 36-bit Deep Color, 3D video, and video
resolutions up to 4K@60Hz. The splitter is powered by the HDMI bus and therefore no
external power supply is required.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW
LINK LEDs: These LEDs illuminate whenever a video display is connected to the output and
video content is being played.
INPUT LED: This LED illuminates whenever a connected HDMI® source is playing video
content.
HDMI OUTPUTS: Connect HDMI video displays to these two outputs using Premium High
Speed HDMI Cables (not included).
POWER: Normally, the splitter draws sufficient power from the HDMI bus. However, if you
are experiencing transmission difficulties, you can connect an external power
source (not included).
HDMI INPUT: Plug the HDMI input lead into the HDMI output of your video source device.

CONNECTION
1. Ensure that all devices that will be connected are powered off and unplugged from
their power sources.
2. Using a Premium High Speed HDMI® Cable (not included), plug one end into the
HDMI input on your first display, then plug the other end into the HDMI OUTPUT 1
port on the splitter.
3. Using a Premium High Speed HDMI Cable (not included), plug one end into the
HDMI input on your second display, then plug the other end into the HDMI OUTPUT
2port on the splitter.
4. Plug the HDMI INPUT lead into the HDMI output port on your HDMI video source
device.
5. Plug in and power on all connected devices, then start video playback on your
HDMI video source device.
6. Check the splitter and verify that each LED is illuminated. Check each display to
verify that the video content is properly displayed.
Congratulations, you have successfully installed your new HDMI splitter!

TROUBLESHOOTING
Q1: No video on either display.
A1: Verify that the video source is powered on and playing video content. Verify that the
HDMI INPUT lead is fully seated into the HDMI output of your source device. Check
the splitter and verify that the INPUT LED is illuminated. Try connecting an external
power source (not included).
Q2: No video on one display, but video is present on the other display.
A2: Verify that the display is powered on and that the proper HDMI input is selected.
Check the HDMI cable connections at each end to verify that they are fully seated in
the HDMI connectors. Try swapping out the HDMI cable with a known good one.
Q3: 1080p@60Hz and 4K@30Hz video display properly, but 4K@60Hz video does not.
A3: Ensure that you are using a Premium High Speed HDMI Cable that supports 18Gbps
bandwidth.
