READ CAREFULLY BEFORE USING AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS!
• FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. DO NOT use this vacuum for other than its
intended use.
• Remove all packaging materials and labels before rst use. Dispose of the
packaging materials via the appropriate recycling system.
• DO NOT drape the cord where it can be pulled on or tripped over. Never wrap
the cord tightly around the vacuum, as this could cause the cord to fray or
break.
• We DO NOT recommend using an extension cord with this vacuum. However,
if an extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating should be at least as
great as the electrical rating of this vacuum.
• CLOSE SUPERVISION IS NECESSARY WHEN USING THIS VACUUM NEAR
CHILDREN OR ANIMALS.
• DO NOT use near water. Never touch the power supply or the vacuum with wet
or damp hands.
• DO NOT use an accessory or attachment not recommended by Wards, as this
may cause injury or damage the vacuum.
• Keep hands, hair and clothing away from all moving parts.
• Turn off and unplug when not in use.
• NO SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE THIS VACUUM.
• DO NOT USE A VACUUM WITH A DAMAGED CORD OR PLUG, OR AFTER IT
MALFUNCTIONS, OR HAS BEEN DAMAGED IN ANY MANNER.

• DO NOT use to vacuum up sharp objects or glass shards.
• DO NOT vacuum up burning matches, glowing ashes or cigarette butts.

• DO NOT use for vacuuming up liquids or water.
• Know how to stop the vacuum quickly. Be thoroughly familiar with the controls
before using.
• Keep the vacuum away from heating elements and heated appliances.
• To avoid overheating, ensure the vents are not obstructed.
• DO NOT use the vacuum without the lters in place.
• DO NOT use outdoors.
• Appliances/tools contain valuable materials that can be recycled. Dispose of

This vacuum is equipped with a polarized plug in which one prong is wider than
the other. This is a safety feature to reduce the risk of electrical shock. The plug
will t into a polarized outlet only one way. If you are unable to insert the plug into
the outlet, try reversing the plug. If it still does not t, contact a qualied
electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way. Montgomery Ward can
not accept any liability for damage or injury resulting from failure to observe these
safety procedures.

ATTACH A TOOL TO THE VACUUM FOR CLOSE JOBS
1. Align and attach the wide end of the adapter to the vacuum. The adapter will
click into place (you may have to depress the adapter release button to make it
snug).
2. Snuggly attach the desired tool over the narrow end of the adapter.
3. Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet.
4. Depress the power switch to operate.
5. When nished, turn off the vacuum and unplug from the outlet.
ATTACH A TOOL WITH THE TUBE FOR A LONGER REACH
1. Align and attach the wide end of the adapter to the vacuum. The adapter will
click into place (you may have to depress the adapter release button to make it
snug).
2. Snuggly attach the wider end of the telescoping tube over the narrow end of the
adapter.
3. Snuggly attach the desired tool over the narrow end of the tube.
4. Depress the lock button on the tube to extend or retract the length of the
telescoping tube.
5. Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet.
6. Depress the power switch to operate.
7. When nished, turn off the vacuum and unplug from the outlet.

1. Turn off and unplug the vacuum.
2. Always allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
3. Disassemble the tool and/or tube from the adapter.
4. DO NOT use abrasive brushes or pads, or harsh cleaning solutions.
5. Wipe down the exterior parts of the vacuum with a damp cloth, as needed.
6. Clean the dust canister:
a. Open the canister door over a waste receptacle to empty dust/debris.
b. Close the door.
c. Press and hold down the canister release button and pull the canister from
the vacuum handle.
d. Twist the canister cover counterclockwise to open.
e. Remove the lters and hand wash in warm, soapy water. Air dry.
f. Wipe the inside of the canister with a soft cloth.
g. Replace the dry lters and reattach the cover to the canister.
h. Reassemble the canister to the handle.
7. Do not immerse any electric tool, appliance, cord or plug into water.
8. Ensure all parts are dried thoroughly before reassembling and using the
vacuum.
9. For storage, attach the wall hanger in a convenient, dry location with 2 screws
(use wall anchors if needed). Hang the vacuum in a vertical position.

NotesTroubleshooting
1. Vacuum does not work:
• Check the connection to the electrical outlet
• Check that a circuit breaker has not tripped
• Check that the vacuum is assembled correctly
2. Vacuum has no suction or has poor suction:
• The canister or the lters are dirty. Empty the canister and clean the lters
(see page 8)
• Check that the vacuum is assembled correctly
• Check if the adapter, tube or tool is plugged with debris

• We recommend keeping the receipt for 4 weeks.
Montgomery Ward, Inc. warrants this product
to be free from defects in material and workmanship
for one year from provable date of purchase.
Within this warranty period, Montgomery Ward
will repair or replace, at its option,
defective parts of this product at no charge,
provided the product is returned,
freight prepaid with proof of purchase to
Montgomery Ward.
Allow 2–4 weeks for return shipping.
This warranty does not cover improper installation, misuse,
abuse or neglect on part of the owner. Warranty is also
invalid in any case that the product is taken apart or
serviced by an unauthorized service station.
This warranty gives you specic legal rights and they may
vary from state to state.
