FULL 1-YEAR WARRANTY
If this product fails due to a defect in material or workmanship within one year from
the date of purchase, Monument Labs will at its option repair or replace it free of
charge. Shipping costs are not covered.
WARRANTY RESTRICTIONS
There are no customer-serviceable parts inside this device. Do not attempt to repair
this unit yourself. Doing so may void the warranty and can cause damage to the device
or personal injury to yourself.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights de-

ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
The included power supply can operate between 100-240 V AC, and provides 5V
DC power to the device with sufficient power to simultaneously operate two USB-
based external portable drives (not included) OR one internal SSD SATA storage (on
some models) and one USB-based external portable drive (not included). The power
provided for each USB portable drive is limited to 500 mA. If your external portable
drive requires more power, you will need to externally power it per its manufacturer’s
instructions and recommendations.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Do not immerse the device in water or other liquids.
2. Do not use the device near water or in damp locations such as near bathtubs or
a wet basement.
3. Do not use the device if the power supply has been damaged.
4. Do not use a power supply other than the one provided by Monument Labs.
5. Do not insert foreign objects into the device.
6. Do not use the device if it malfunctions or has been damaged. Return the device
to the manufacturer for examination, electrical, or mechanical repairs. See
WARRANTY section.
7. Do not block air vents, or place the device on a soft surface such as a bed or a
sofa as this can block vent openings. Do not place objects on top of the device
as this can also block vent openings.
8. Do not plug in an external portable drive if it is damaged.

9. If you’re intended to exchange, remove or plug-in an internal SSD drive, get
professional assistance from a qualified IT technician. Opening devices and replacing
device components can present electric shock, device damage, fire, and personal
injury risks, and other hazards. Always use caution and follow the safety precautions
and procedures that are identified in the “Monument 2 - SSD Removal Guide” which
can be found online at www.getmonument.com/support
10. Do not move or relocate the device unless all connected cables, and external port-
able drives are disconnected and removed first per instructions in the OPERATION
section.
Place the device on a flat, level surface at least 24 inches (61 cm) away from heat
sources such as ranges or space heaters.
This product is intended for indoor use only. Save these instructions.

OPERATION
1. Make sure the device is unplugged from power.
2. If you’d like to use a gigabit Ethernet connection, connect the device to an
Ethernet switch using a CAT6 Ethernet cable. Ethernet cables of a lower
standard than CAT6 may result in a lower speed connection.
3. If desired, connect the device to a TV using the HDMI port.
4. For diskless models. attach one USB external 2.5” portable drive to the
device. If you’re using an internal SSD model, there’s no need to plug in an
external USB Drive for the setup.
Plugging in an additional external USB drive is optional but strongly recom-
mended. The additional drive can be plugged in and configured as the backup
drive after the setup is completed.
5. Turn the device on by plugging in the power. The device will power on in less
than a minute and the light in front will start blinking blue.
6. Install the Monument app on your smartphone or tablet. Go to
www.getmonument.com/apps to find the right app for your mobile device.
Install and launch the app, and follow the instructions. The initial setup needs
to be completed using a mobile device, not a computer.
INITIAL SETUP

OPERATION
STORING YOUR PHOTOS ON MONUMENT
1. Photos from your smartphone or tablet can be automatically transferred
when you start using Monument apps.
2. Insert the SD card from your digital camera and then follow the instructions
using the Monument app to import all of your content.
3. All of the new content will be analyzed and organized by the device.
LED INDICATOR
Your Monument device has an indicator light in front. It allows you to
check its status at a quick glance.
Solid White: Idle, functioning normally.
Blinking White: Processing content.
Blinking Blue: User action required, please check your mobile app.
Blinking Green: Importing content from SD card.

NORMAL OPERATION
1. SD cards can be plugged in and removed while the light in the front is white.
2. The device can be powered down by disconnecting the power when the light
is solid white.
3. New external portable drives can be added either when the device is powered
on, or when off. As soon as a new drive is plugged in, an alert will be shown
on the mobile app. You can choose to make the second drive as the backup
drive.
WHEN USING THE BUILT-IN SSD STORAGE, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ADD OR
REMOVE THE SSD DRIVE WHEN THE DEVICE IS POWERED ON. FOLLOW THE
INSTRUCTIONS IN THE SAFETY SECTION.
4. To remove a drive, please open the mobile app and go to the Settings
screen. Select the drive you want to remove and follow the instructions.
Removing a drive without following these steps may cause data loss or
damage to your drives.

10.Ne déplacez pas l’appareil à moins que tous les câbles connectés et les
lecteurs portables externes du compartiment du disque soient déconnectés et
retirés, conformément aux instructions de la section FONCTIONNEMENT.
Placez l’appareil sur une surface plane et à une distance minimale de 24 pouces
(61 cm) des sources de chaleur telles que les cuisinières ou les radiateurs.
Ce produit est destiné à une utilisation en intérieur uniquement. Conservez ces

FONCTIONNEMENT
1. Assurez-vous que l’appareil soit débranché de la source d’alimentation.
2. Si vous souhaitez utiliser une connexion Gigabit Ethernet, connectez l’appa-
reil à un commutateur Ethernet à l’aide d’un câble Ethernet CAT6. Des câbles
Ethernet de qualité inférieure à la norme CAT6 peuvent réduire la vitesse de
connexion.
3. Si vous le souhaitez, connectez l’appareil à un écran d’ordinateur ou à un
téléviseur à l’aide du port HDMI.
4. Pour les modèles sans disque. connectez un lecteur portable externe USB
2,5” à l’appareil. Si vous utilisez un modèle SSD interne, il n’est pas nécessaire
de brancher une clé USB externe pour la configuration.
Le branchement d’un lecteur USB externe supplémentaire est facultatif mais
fortement recommandé. Le lecteur supplémentaire peut être branché et config-
uré comme lecteur de sauvegarde une fois la configuration terminée.
5. Allumez l’appareil en branchant l’alimentation. L’appareil s’allume en moins
d’une minute et la lumière à l’avant commence à clignoter en bleu.
6. Installez l’application Monument sur votre smartphone ou tablette.
Rendez-vous sur www.getmonument.com/apps pour trouver l’application
dédiée pour votre appareil mobile. Installez et lancez l’application, et suivez les
instructions. La configuration initiale doit être effectuée à l’aide d’un appareil
mobile et non d’un ordinateur.

FONCTIONNEMENT
STOCKAGE DE VOS PHOTOS SUR MONUMENT
1. Les photos de votre smartphone ou de votre tablette peuvent être
automatiquement transférées lorsque vous commencez à utiliser les
applications Monument.
2. Insérez la carte SD de votre appareil photo numérique, puis suivez les in-
structions à l’aide de l’application Monument pour importer tout votre contenu.
3. Tout le nouveau contenu sera analysé et organisé par l’appareil.

VOYANT LED
Votre appareil Monument dispose d’un voyant lumineux à l’avant. Il est ainsi
facile de vérifier l’état en un coup d’œil.
Blanc fixe : Inactif, fonctionne normalement.
Blanc clignotant : Traitement du contenu.
Bleu clignotant : Action de l’utilisateur requise, veuillez vérifier votre
application mobile.
Vert clignotant : Importation de contenu depuis la carte SD.

FONCTIONNEMENT NORMAL
1. Les cartes SD peuvent être branchées et retirées lorsque la lumière à l’avant
est blanche.
2. L’appareil peut être mis hors tension en coupant l’alimentation lorsque le
voyant est blanc fixe.
3. De nouveaux lecteurs portables externes peuvent être ajoutés lorsque l’ap-
pareil est allumé ou éteint. Dès qu’un nouveau lecteur est branché, une alerte
s’affiche sur l’application mobile. Vous pouvez choisir de faire du deuxième lecteur
le lecteur de sauvegarde.
LORSQUE VOUS UTILISEZ LE STOCKAGE SSD INTÉGRÉ, N’ESSAYEZ PAS D’AJOUT-
ER OU DE RETIRER LE LECTEUR SSD LORSQUE L’APPAREIL EST SOUS TENSION.
SUIVEZ LES INSTRUCTIONS DE LA SECTION SÉCURITÉ.
4. Pour supprimer un lecteur, veuillez ouvrir l’application mobile et accéder à
l’écran Paramètres. Sélectionnez le lecteur que vous souhaitez supprimer et
suivez les instructions. La suppression d’un lecteur sans suivre ces étapes peut
entraîner une perte de données ou endommager vos lecteurs.
