becomes clear, while the lower icon is still blurry.

1. Estimate Refractive Error
Read the result from the
screen. Then go back to step
1 and repeat 3 times.
Turn the occluder to another
side, repeat the process for the
other eye.

Set the device to +6.00D
by rotating the dial.
Look through eyepiece, cover
the other eye by the occluder
and keep both eyes open.
Rotate the dial slowly until the end.
Observe the radial lines during this process.

If all lines are equally blurry or sharp like example A:
If you can see some thicker lines similar to example B:
no or little astigmatism, <1.00D;
astigmatism, ≥1.00D.
Repeat the process for the other eye.

3. Estimate Far Vision
Repeat the process for the other eye.
Set the device to 0.00D
by rotating the dial.
Look through eyepiece, cover
the other eye by the occluder
and keep both eyes open.
Test can be done with and without spectacles, to evaluate the
corrected and uncorrected far vision.
Which is the smallest line
where you can identify
the direction of the letter
“E”?
The value beside the smallest line
you can read correctly is the
estimated value of your far vision.

Tourner la molette et régler
l'appareil au +6,00D.
Regarder le tableau visuel à
travers l'oculaire. Couvrir
l'autre œil par l'occluseur et
garder les deux yeux ouverts.
Répéter les mêmes procédures pour l'autre œil.

3. Estimer la vision de loin
Tourner la molette et régler
l'appareil au 0,00D.
Le test peut être fait avec ou sans lunettes, pour évaluer la vision
de loin corrigée ou non-corrigée.
Quelle est la plus petite ligne
où vous arrivez à identifier la
direction de la lettre «E»?
La valeur à côté de la plus petite ligne que
vous arrivez à correctement identifier est
la valeur estimée de votre vision de loin.
