MorphoAccess® SIGMA Series
Simplified Setup Reference
NOTE: Please be sure to complete Steps 1-3 BEFORE connecting your MorphoAccess® SIGMA
Series terminals
STEP 1 | GET GROUNDED. Ensure the person performing the install is grounded in order to
prevent ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) damage to the SIGMA series terminal.
STEP 2 | SHUT-OFF THE POWER. Do NOT proceed with installation until electrical power has
been switched-off.
STEP 3 | CHECK THE WIRES. Identify the +12V and GND wires in two places: (1) Electrical power
source, and (2) SIGMA series terminal.
NOTE: Inversion of the +12V and GND wire will damage the product.

STEP 5 | CHOOSE ONE POWER SOURCE (NOT BOTH): EXTERNAL 12V OR POWER-OVER-
ETHERNET. MorphoAccess® SIGMA Series terminals will only accept power from either PoE or
an external power supply, but not both simultaneously, nor in tandem.
STEP 6 | POWER THE SIGMA TERMINAL
For External Power: 12-24 Volts (regulated) 1 Amp and must comply with CEE/EEC
EN60950 standard. External power could be provided by a 12-Volt Wiegand power
supply. Minimum: 12V @ 1A. Refer to Step 3.
For PoE (Power over Ethernet): Install the PoE Board. Then, connect the PoE cable to
the RJ45 jack into the back of the SIGMA series terminal. See the diagram below.
