Introduction
The vehicle WIFI window mount antenna is intended for mounting on the windshield of the
vehicle. After completing the installation, the cable is concealed between the headlining and
the roof of the vehicle, with minimum disturbance to the headlining and the upholstery.
Figure 1-1 shows the WIFI window mount antenna.

FCC Requirements
Consider the following factors when installing an antenna.
• Install the vehicle antenna internal to the vehicle on the windshield, and in accordance
with the requirements contained in this manual.
• Ensure the antenna cable is easily routed to the radio.
• Ensure that the antenna cable is routed separately and not in parallel to any other
vehicle wiring or mobile radio cable wiring.
To comply with FCC regulations when installing the antenna lead-in
cable, do not shorten the cable.

Installation Procedure
The antenna installation procedure is for a typical passenger car. The procedure varies
depending on the type of vehicle on which the antenna is installed. The procedure outlined
is universal.
Installing the Antenna
1. Select a location for the antenna on the windshield. The antenna needs to be on the
passenger side, close to the top, and on the front windshield.
NOTE:
• Ensure the antenna does not obstruct the view of the driver.
• For optimum performance, choose a higher location on the windshield.
• Do not mount the antenna to the dashboard or the rear deck as the antenna may
obstruct the view of the vehicle driver, and effect optimal RF performance.
• Check the antenna location for any electrical interferences. Keep away from metallic
tint, defroster wires, or other obstructions on the windshield.
• Keep WIFI antenna at least one inch away from the windshield edge and the car
chassis metal.
2. Ensure the antenna is vertically polarized, so the radiation pattern is omni-directional.
3. Test fit the antenna on the selected area before removing the release liner from the tape
on the antenna mounting surface.
4. Probe the headlining with your fingers to verify that all points of obstruction are avoided.
5. Determine the routing of the cable from the antenna to the radio set, and remove the
mold and trim necessarily to pull the cable through.
NOTE: Use an electrician fishtape if you experience difficulty with cable routing.
6. Ensure the mounting glass surface is clean and free of debris. Clean the surface area
with a lint-free cloth using isopropyl alcohol to remove any residue grease or dirt.
7. Remove the release liner and carefully position the antenna above the selected
mounting area.
8. Place the antenna on the mounting surface, and apply even pressure to allow the foam
tape to conform to the windshield curvature.
NOTE: 50% of the bond strength is achieved after 20 minutes. Avoid contact with the
antenna for a minimum of 20 minutes after initial installation. Full bond strength
of the adhesive tape is after 72 hours.
9. Recheck the connections, and reinstall molding and trimming.
The adhesive tape is very strong and bonds instantly on the
mounting surface. Once the antenna is placed on the surface, it
cannot be moved.
