Turn mast locking knob counterclockwise to
release mast. Grab hold of forklift pocket
and rotate mast to desired position. Tighten
mast locking knob.
JACK STANDS
Before towing, ALWAYS
rotate jack stands to the
stow position (UP).

CHECK the mast and winch cables for wear. If any

NEVERusethelight tower mast asa crane.DONOT
liftanythingwiththemast.
NEVERattachanythingtothelighttowermast.
ALWAYSlowerthelighttowerwhennotinuse,orifhigh
windsorelectricalstormsareexpected.

Topreventthelighttowerfromoverturning,NEVERuse
inwindsthatexceed65mph(105kph).
LAMPSAFETY
NEVER attempt to replace lamp with the power on.
Alwaysshutdowntheengineandturnoffcircuitbreakers
whenchangingthelamp.
ALWAYSallowasufficientamountoftimeforthelampto
cool beforetouchingor changing.Thepossibilityexistsof
severeburns.
NEVER use force when installing the lamp. Excessive
forcecouldcausethelamptobreak,causingbodilyharm.
NEVERleaveanygreaseoroilresidueonlampsurface
whenreplacingor removinglamp.Thiscancreatehot
spots,reducingtheservicelifeofthelamp.
ALWAYSmakesurelampsurfaceiscleananddry.
ALWAYSreplacewithMQrecommendedtypelamp.
ALWAYShaveatrainedtechnicianinstall andremove
afloodlight,orreplaceanydamagedfixturewiring.
ENGINESAFETY

Theengineof thisequipment
requires an adequate free
flow of cooling air. NEVER
operate this equipment in
anyenclosedor narrowarea
wherefreeflowof the air is
restricted. If the air flow is
restricteditwillcauseinjurytopeopleandpropertyand
seriousdamagetotheequipmentorengine.

DONOTremovetheradiator capwhiletheengineishot.
Highpressureboilingwaterwillgushoutoftheradiator
andseverelyscaldanypersonsinthegeneral areaof
thegenerator.
DO NOT remove the coolant drain plug
while the engine is hot. Hot coolant will
gushout of thecoolant tankandseverely
scald any persons in the general area of
thegenerator.
DO NOT remove the engine oil drain plug while the
engine is hot. Hot oil will gushout of the oil tankand
severelyscaldanypersons inthegeneral area of the
generator.
CAUTION
NEVER touch the hot exhaust manifold,
mufflerorcylinder.Allowthesepartstocool
beforeservicingequipment.
NEVERrunenginewithoutanairfilterorwithadirtyair
filter.Severeenginedamagemayoccur.Serviceair filter
frequentlytopreventenginemalfunction.
NEVER tamper with the factory settings
oftheengineorenginegovernor.Damage
to the engine or equipment can result
if operating in speed ranges above the
maximumallowable.
NEVERtiptheenginetoextremeanglesduringliftingas
itmaycauseoiltogravitateintothecylinderhead,making
theenginestartdifficult.
Wetstackingisacommonproblemwithdieselengines
which are operated for extended periods with light or
noloadapplied.Whenadieselengineoperateswithout
sufficientload(lessthan40%oftheratedoutput),itwill
not operateat itsoptimumtemperature.Thiswill allow
unburned fuel to accumulate in the exhaust system,
which can foul the fuel injectors, engine valves and
exhaust system, including turbochargers, and reduce
theoperatingperformance.
Inorderforadieselenginetooperateatpeakefficiency,
itmustbeabletoprovidefuelandairintheproperratio
andatahighenoughenginetemperaturefortheengine
tocompletelyburnallofthefuel.
Wet stacking does not usually cause any permanent
damage and can be alleviated if additional load is
appliedtorelievethecondition.It canreducethesystem
performance and increase maintenance. Applying an
increasing load over a period of time until the excess
fuel is burned off and the systemcapacity is reached
usuallycan repair thecondition.This cantake several
hourstoburnofftheaccumulatedunburnedfuel.
State Health Safety Codes and Public Resources
Codesspecifythatincertainlocations,sparkarresters
mustbeusedoninternal combustionenginesthatuse
hydrocarbonfuels.Asparkarrester isadevicedesigned
to prevent accidental discharge of sparks or flames
fromtheengineexhaust.Spark arrestersare qualified
andrated by theUnitedStatesForest Service for this
purpose. In order to comply with local laws regarding
spark arresters, consult the engine distributor or the
localHealthandSafetyAdministrator.

DO NOT fill the fuel tank while the engine is running
orhot.
DONOToverfill tank, sincespilledfuel couldigniteif it
comesintocontactwithhotenginepartsorsparksfrom
theignitionsystem.
Store fuel in appropriate containers, in well-ventilated
areasandawayfromsparksandflames.
NEVERusefuelasacleaningagent.
DO NOT smoke around or near the
equipment. Fire or explosion could result
fromfuel vapors or if fuel is spilled on a
hotengine.
TOWINGSAFETY
Checkwithyourlocalcountyorstatesafety
towing regulations, in addition to meeting
Department of Transportation (DOT)
SafetyTowingRegulations,beforetowing
yourlighttower.
In order to reduce the possibility of an accident while
transporting the light tower on public roads, ALWAYS
make surethetrailer that supports thelight tower and
thetowingvehiclearemechanicallysoundandingood
operatingcondition.
ALWAYSshutdownenginebeforetransporting.
Makesurethehitchandcouplingof thetowingvehicle
are rated equal to, or greater than the trailer “gross
vehicleweightrating.”
ALWAYSinspectthehitchandcouplingforwear.NEVER
towatrailerwithdefectivehitches,couplings,chains,etc.
Checkthetireairpressureonbothtowingvehicleand
trailer.Trailertiresshouldbeinflatedto50psicold.
Alsocheckthetiretreadwearonbothvehicles.
ALWAYS make sure the trailer is equipped with
appropriatesafetychains.
ALWAYSproperlyattachtrailer’ssafetychainstotowing
vehicle.
ALWAYSmakesurethevehicleandtrailerdirectional,
backup, brake and trailer lights are connected and
workingproperly.
Themaximumspeedforhighwaytowingis55MPHunless
postedotherwise.Recommendedoff-roadtowingisnot
toexceed15MPHorlessdependingontypeofterrain.
Avoidsuddenstopsandstarts.Thiscancauseskidding,
or jack-knifing. Smooth, gradual starts and stops will
improvetowing.
Avoidsharpturnstopreventrolling.
Trailershouldbeadjustedtoalevelpositionatalltimes
whentowing.
Raiseandlocktrailerwheel standinuppositionwhen
towing.
Placechockblocksunderneathwheeltopreventrolling
whileparked.
Placesupportblocksunderneaththetrailer’sbumper
topreventtippingwhileparked.
Usethetrailer’sswiveljacktoadjustthetrailerheightto
alevelpositionwhileparked.

ALWAYS make sure crane or lifting device has been
properlysecuredtoliftinghookoftheequipment.

Make sure the tower is in the stowed position before
lifting.

lifting.
Use adequate lifting cable (wire or rope) of sufficient
strength.

If liftingthroughpockets, makesureforksof forkliftare
insertedinpocketsasfaraspossiblebeforelifting.
NEVERallowanypersonoranimal tostandunderneath
theequipmentwhilelifting.
DONOTliftequipmenttounnecessaryheights.
LoadingandTie-DownonFlatbedTruck
Beforeloadinglighttowertoflatbedtruck,disconnectall
fourfloodlightconnectorsandtie-wrapthecablesagainst
theT-bartopreventdamagetothecablesandconnectors.
Whenloadingontoflatbed truck, makesurethat front
jackstandoflighttowerisretractedandinthehorizontal
positionsothatthefootdoesnotmakecontactwiththe
deckfloor.

Makesurethatthetwoside(leftandright)andtworear
jackstandsareintheverticalpostion,slightlyextended,
sothateachfootmakescontactwiththedeckfloor.
Strapsandchainsshouldberoutedthroughthetransport
tie-down points located beneath each corner of the
cabinet to alloweven application of force to the front
andrearofthemachine.
DONOTsecuretheunitbyrunningastraporchainover
the tongue of the light tower.This may cause severe
damagetotheunit.
